Copper is an amazing pup. He is a GSP, so he needs adequate exercise. He loves to catch his Frisbee and play at the dog park. Unfortunately, our family has gone through some schedule changes and increased travel due to work and we just cannot continue to care for him. He is able to be in his crate for a couple of hours at a time, but not a full working day.He listens well, and is e-collar trained. He is a Velcro dog and loves to cuddle. Evenings are a joy with him at our side. We are really heartbroken to have to give him up - he just deserves better than what we can give him.

Want to meet ME?* Come to our adoption event this weekend: Sunday, July 26th from 2:00-4:00 Vanish Brewery, 42245 Black Hops Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176 We encourage potential adopters to apply ahead of our adoption events so we can begin getting to know you and help assess whether an adoption may be a good match prior to the event. We hope to see you on Sunday!!! *Dog/Cat attendance is not guaranteed. Feel free to text the event coordinator to confirm a specific dog/cat's attendance: 703-447-4766 IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Amelia! Amelia is about 12 weeks old and weighs about 10-12 lbs. We have no idea on breed mix, but our guess is German Short hair Pointer/Hound - JUST A GUESS. Amelia is a happy, playful and sweet puppy. She is at her happiest when she is sitting in your lap:) Amelia is great with the resident dogs in her foster home. Amelia has only had one accident in her foster home and seems house trained when on a consistent schedule. Amelia sleeps in her crate through the night. Amelia is ready for any adventure and is happy when she has a lap to sit on. Because Amelia is a young puppy, the adopter must be home during the day to continue training and socialization and help the puppy grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog. This puppy has age-appropriate vaccines, is microchipped and will need to be spayed/neuter at 6 months of age. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Much like Snow White’s dwarf, the name Grumpy doesn’t describe his true nature. He is a high-energy, strong, extroverted, playful pup who is bursting with enthusiasm and ready to share it with anyone willing to keep up. He needs to brush up on his walking etiquette because he just gets so excited to explore the world. Grumpy is a bit of a jumper and throws all of his energy into playing. He is ready for a new home life and seems willing to follow the leader of the pack if he has dog siblings.

Meet Manchester City! Looking for her forever home! This sweet 5.5-month-old girl is searching for the perfect family to call her own! Loves being outdoors and would happily spend hours exploring and playing. Full of puppy energy and loves her toys. Gets along great with our resident dogs and would thrive in a home with another playful pup, though she could also do well as an only dog with plenty of attention and exercise. Does well with cats. Great with kids. Sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Currently working on potty training and making great progress! She would do best with an active family that can give her plenty of exercise, love, and room to run and play. A home with a fenced yard or plenty of space to run would be ideal. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, and adventurous companion, this girl might be your perfect match! Adoption Day: August 15th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2763067##

Story
Messi is a sweet and playful pup who also all people, dogs, and cats if they're willing!  He loves to chase a ball and even brings it back sometimes. He sleeps quietly thru' the night in his crate (not as happy in the crate when his people are leaving, but doing pretty well for a baby just weeks into rescue, good boy!) Walking on a leash is a new concept and he's not sure about it, but taking that literal leap of faith to please his people (i.e. over a threshold to a lower step that he can't see!) and will gain confidence quickly. Even his first week in foster he was so close to potty trained, an accident here and there----which usually means human error, tbh!-----and so far 100% now in his second week, what a great, smart and wants-to-learn pup!! Great with all dogs so far, and with the resident cats his first week in foster (current home doesn't have cats, but he was great when they were in the same  house) and is just the most cuddly little lovebug. Be the lucky person who gets to take him home and OMG, you will absolutely melt that first time he quietly comes over and puts his chin on your lap to gaze at you with abiding love and adoration just because you're you.  Send a meet & greet request, fall in love with this sweet, loving, playful boy to be a reserved adopter, then take him home!  Adoption Day: August 15th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM!! An approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2763068##

Story
Current Location: Ijamsville, MD Meet Toliver! 🐾 I’m Toliver, a striking 3-year-old Dalmatian ready to bring spots of joy into your life! At a handsome 46 pounds, I'm a friendly, neutered guy who is already house-trained and great on a leash, making our daily walks together an absolute breeze. True to my breed I'm an incredibly affectionate companion who loves being close to my people who requires a lot of exercise or a backyard I can run around in and do zoomies. Because I value feeling safe and secure, I’m looking for an adults-only home or one with older children that can provide me with a calm environment. Someone(s) that understand I can be a little nervous when meeting new faces at first, but once I warm up, my loving side shines right through. I also enjoy the company of other dogs! I just need slow, structured introductions to canine pals so we can build a great relationship at a comfortable pace. If you're ready for a rewarding partnership with a wonderful, loyal pup, come meet me and let's start our adventure together! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

Orchid is a beautiful Dalmatian mix, about 1.5-2 years old and 22 pounds of pure sugar. She's happy, playful, and full of life! She enjoys playing with her dog friends here at the rescue and would thrive in an active home where she can go on walks, hikes, or runs. Orchid would blend well in just about any family setting with dogs or children. Orchid is from a hoarding case but she doesn't show any signs of abuse or neglect and is a resilient little girl. She'd make a fantastic companion for a family ready to give her the activity and affection she craves. Orchid is Heart worm and Chagas negative. Orchid is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Frederick, MD on August 22nd with approved application and confirmed adoption. Her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes transport cost. Every dog adopted through Tracy's Paws receives: Chagas, heart worm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) All core vaccines (age-appropriate) Heart worm and flea/tick preventatives Regular De-worming Spay/neuter surgery Microchip Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.
