Story
Meet Peanut, a delightful youngster with a heart full of joy. This sweet, cuddly, and gentle soul is always ready to share affectionate kisses and snuggles. Curious and excitable, Peanut weighs 40 pounds and loves exploring the world on leash walks, though he can be a bit jumpy with new sights and sounds. He`ll need your help to learn about house training so please be patient as you teach him. He is insecure and likes staying close. Despite his occasional whines for attention, he`s a perfect lap dog who`s happiest when close to people. He`s needy and never wants to be alone. Peanut`s friendly and loving nature makes him an ideal companion for any home looking to add a bundle of love and happiness. Peanut is a bit rough with other dogs and can be jumpy and mouthy when playing with children, signaling a need for some loving training to shape his good behavior. Older children would be best and it would be a good idea to bring your dog to meet him. He is quite the goofball and enjoys running, toys, water, jumping, and the ever-popular zoomies. Adopt happy Peanut today and experience the pure joy of his companionship! Hi, I'm Coco!! I'm a high spirited wire-haired vizsla mix girl with lots to say and bounds of energy just like a pure bred vizsla! Running, hiking, water? Sign me up!! I love to talk and can sometimes get a bit loud in my excitement, so a home with a yard rather than an apartment would be best. I'm house and crate trained. Oh, and I love kids! I do best with slow introductions to new dogs.

Sahara here, yes, still! I have been in foster care for a REALLY long time and despite being incredible, I still haven't been chosen! I LOVE a great game of Frisbee and a lap nap after, I am house trained and enjoy long walks, swimming on a warm day, and even do well in the car. Speaking of cars, if you need safety at the ATM, take me along! I am muzzle-trained, if needed, and would love to explore a new neighborhood! I will alert you any time someone is near my home and scare off the bad guys with my big barking skills. I'm super smart, too, and know lots of commands- sit, leave it, wait, get down, and will even wake up from dreamland with my favorite blankies to give my person a hug if you ask me! While I am not friendly with other animals, people are my favorite! My foster mom loves me lots but she and I would both love to see me in a FURever home. If you'd be willing to give me lots of love, praise, and a chance to be your main squeeze, please apply to meet me soon!

Story
🐾 Meet Teddy 🐾 ~1 year old | Male | 28 lbs | Tripod Survivor Teddy’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. He came to us after suffering a gunshot wound to his left front leg, resulting in catastrophic injury. Due to the severity of the damage, amputation was the most humane and life-saving option, and Teddy underwent surgery on 11/19. He is now recovering beautifully and learning to navigate the world on three legs like a champ. Despite everything he’s endured, Teddy remains a sweet, resilient young dog with so much love to give. He has shown incredible strength, adaptability, and a gentle spirit throughout his recovery. At just about 1 year old, he still has his whole life ahead of him and being a tripod won’t slow him down. Teddy is currently classified as a medical rescue, and his records (including follow-up care) are available for review. He will need to be spayed/neutered prior to adoption, in accordance with Texas Health & Safety Code §828.003. If you’re looking for a brave, loving companion who has already overcome more than most dogs ever will, Teddy may be the one for you. He’s a survivor and now he’s ready for a fresh start in a forever home. 💙 Questions? Email: info@lifelinetx.org Local Adoptions Are Welcome! Texas faces one of the most severe pet overpopulation crises in the country. Thousands of healthy, adoptable animals enter overcrowded municipal shelters every year with limited resources and few outcomes. Lifeline of Galveston County is a nonprofit, foster-based rescue founded to change that reality. We focus on: Saving at-risk cats and dogs from overcrowded shelters Supporting neonatal kittens and medical cases Providing community resources that keep pets out of shelters Advocating for humane, lifesaving solutions across our region The pet you’re viewing is incredibly lucky to be safe in our program, and even luckier that you found them. Setting You & Your New Companion Up for Success We are committed to long-term success for both adopters and animals. When you adopt from Lifeline, you also receive: Ongoing support from our team Access to our adopter community and resources Guidance on decompression, slow introductions, and adjustment Rescue pets often need time, sometimes weeks or months, to fully settle in and show their true personalities. We look for adopters who understand that patience, structure, and love make all the difference. Our Impact Since opening our adoption center, Lifeline of Galveston County has helped over 1,800 pets find loving homes, and we’re just getting started. When you adopt from Lifeline, you don’t just save one life, you make room for the next animal who desperately needs help.
