Story
How it started: Meet Colin, a 1yr old gentle sweet boy. As a puppy he got lost in the system, altered and vaxed, but never got to adoption events so he never has had the chance to be in a home with a family. He and his siblings were dropped off at the shelter and were set to be euthanized, but luckily he was saved. Now he’s ready to learn how to be a dog, how to get snuggles and how to be a loyal, loving companion to your family for life. More on Colin: Colin originally came from California so he is bi-coastal. He fits in any and everywhere. What a lovely boy Colin is in every sense of the word. He was a house dog and lost his home like so many others. He is house-trained and once followed his master around the house helping her in daily activities. That was his job that he did so willingly, so gently. Colin is very dog friendly and loves to go on nature walks. He is very easy on the leash. A perfect boy who enjoys all forms of training...what we call in the dog world - "a huge will-to-please" - a dog trainer's and a dog lover's delight! Give us a call today and find out more about this sweet boy that we all love so much. Ask about the Reunion Rescue holistic plan which comes with every dog and our foster-to-adopt program.

Story
Meet Handsome! Some dogs wear their stories on their faces. Handsome wears his in his heart. This striking 2-year-old Catahoula mix arrived at the shelter in rough condition—underweight, and unsure of the world around him. Despite everything he`d been through, Handsome never stopped showing people that he wanted to trust. With time, patience, and care, he`s begun to reveal the wonderful dog hiding beneath his cautious exterior. Handsome is a sensitive soul who forms deep connections with the people he trusts. While he can be reserved when meeting new people and may initially seem timid or uncertain, he quickly begins to relax when approached gently. Once he feels safe, he leans into affection, seeks out his favorite people, and shows just how much love he has to give. This handsome boy thrives with calm, thoughtful handling. Fast movements and overwhelming situations can make him uncomfortable, but he recovers well when given patience and reassurance. Because of his sensitive nature, he`d likely do best in a home without small children. Handsome also has a playful side that emerges once he`s comfortable. He absolutely loves toys and enjoys spending time exploring, learning, and interacting with his people. As his confidence has grown, so has his ability to enjoy life. When it comes to other dogs, Handsome is something of a peacekeeper. He enjoys polite canine interactions and has shown friendly curiosity toward well-mannered dogs. However, he`s not a fan of chaos or conflict. If another dog becomes reactive, loud, or invades his space aggressively, Handsome may become uncomfortable and can mirror that energy. Because of this, he would do best with calm, socially appropriate canine companions and an owner who understands dog behavior and introductions. Handsome is looking for more than just a home—he`s looking for someone willing to continue building his confidence and helping him discover how good life can be. Handsome has already overcome more than many dogs ever should. Now he`s ready for the happy ending he deserves—a family who sees beyond his past and believes in his future. For the person willing to earn his trust, Handsome will be more than a pet. He`ll be a devoted companion, a loyal friend, and proof that sometimes the most beautiful transformations happen when someone finally gets a second chance. Could Handsome`s next chapter be with you?
