She enjoys attention, companionship, and being close to her humans, making her the kind of dog who quickly becomes part of the heart of the home. She has matured beautifully beyond the young puppy stage while still keeping a playful spark and curious personality. Chiquita enjoys interaction and companionship but also has a softer, affectionate side that makes her a wonderful cuddle companion. As a Pinscher / Catahoula mix, Chiquita may show traits such as intelligence, alertness, curiosity, and loyalty. Pinscher mixes are often confident and engaging, while Catahoula-type dogs are known for their awareness, devotion, and strong bond with their families. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Chiquita will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Patience during adjustment periods Continued socialization and engagement Routine and companionship Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Chiquita will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life. Chiquita is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
