Story
** If you are interested in adopting Yuki please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Yuki! Yuki is a 3-year-old, 57 lb Weimaraner / Labrador Retriever mix who recently made his way to Colorado after being found as a stray in Houston. This sweet boy has already shown what a loving and gentle soul he is. He is SUCH a good boy! From Yuki's foster: * * * * "Yuki (or Yuki Pookie as my kids call him) is the sweetest boy and best snuggler you will ever meet. He is a really extremely GOOD dog!! He is so gentle and sweet with our kids, (10 & 11) and he is BEST friends with our dog. He is fully potty trained also. I mean he is the full package!!! He is so smart and knows "sit" and "lay down" and "shake". He is so smart and easy to train. He will cuddle with you on the couch or bed or anywhere and make satisfied sighing noises when he snuggles in that will melt your heart. Yuki is an equal opportunity cuddler and will love snuggles and pets from all household members and more. He even slept under the covers with our kiddo the other night, with his head on the pillow! Yuki loves to romp with other dogs and is playful and funny. He would do great in a forever home with another playful dog. He is a little too interested in our cats, so shouldn't go to a home with cats. But he LOVES other dogs and playing and snuggling with them. On potty training: Yuki hasn’t had a single accident! He will let you know he needs to go out with a boop or paw. He is SO good. While Yuki LOVES other dogs, he is still learning to not bark at doggie friends out on walks, (he just gets over excited and being held back by the leash makes him bark) but is making quick progress given his big love of treats. He just gets excited to see friends and wants to go say hi. But he is very food motivated and very smart and learning fast to look at me for a treat instead. He would do best with someone who has a yard, as leash walks can become stressful for him, and life is much easier when he has a yard to potty and romp around in." * * * * Yuki arrived to Farfel’s Rescue from Houston in early October after a tough start on the hot Texas streets, where he was underweight and had thinning hair. With lots of love and care in his foster home, he’s completely blossomed — his coat is now soft and shiny, and he’s at a healthy, happy weight! We'd like to place Yuki in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Yuki is healthy, up to date on his vaccinations, has been fully vetted, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Large part Weimaraner, most parts love bug, my great ancestors hail from Germany– just like my fellow rescues, the Boxers! So glad they took me in. Peanut’s my name, cause I guess I kind of resemble one? Not the hard-shelled kind, of course–too much of a snuggler for that. I’m more of a boiled peanut type, soft, fun, ready to curl up beside you.  I'm around five, they tell me, and a smartypants. If this Peanut were on a grocery shelf, however, I’d be next to jam and honey—we have lots in common! I’m sweet, comforting, and love to sandwich my people. You, me, and the couch make three. I guess I’m a looker, too!  Been known to make the hearts of fellow rescue pups skip a beat. You didn’t hear it from me, but my not-so-secret admirer could barely contain himself when I sauntered past his kennel. Something about my eyes matching my coat matching my wise yet sassy self….can’t blame the fella.  Says my faithful volunteer, “Peanut’s a cuddle bug looking for a permanent rug. Peanut will see into your soul! Very into her peeps.” Oh wow, such a nice reference. It’s true. I want to know your thoughts, your dreams, and when we can lie in the grass and stare at clouds. So thankful to my foster family, and so ready to find my one and only. So glad to see you seeing about me.  Ready when you are!   Your smooth, buttery Peanut   PS Notes from Peanut’s sleepover: great overnight house guest, sleeps through the night, house trained, cuddle bug, loves toys, knows tons of obedience cues, jumps up when meeting new people (tho easily redirected), good in the car, likely best with a 6' fence (she's tall). ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Please do not email and ask for more information on how to adopt, all the information is already available online. The information you see here is all that is currently available about this dog. No boxers are adopted without a completed application and home check. Thank you! ##1834542##

Story
Meet Vomma! This sweet lab/weimaraner mix has not had the easiest start in life, but she has so much love to give. After arriving at the shelter, Vomma needed her tail amputated, but what she lacks in tail wags, she more than makes up for with her loyal and affectionate personality.Vomma has been showing just how wonderful she can be in a home environment. She settles in quickly, enjoys attention, and loves being near her people. Like many young dogs, she is still learning, but she is extremely smart, picks up new skills quickly, and thrives with guidance.Vomma would love to be your hiking buddy or adventure partner, but she is just as happy curling up on the couch with you afterward. She does well in a kennel and can keep herself entertained with toys when needed. She loves rolling in the grass, playing fetch, and doing the cutest hops and tipety taps with her paws when she is excited. Vomma also enjoys runs and would be an amazing running companion for her forever person or family. She has done great at breweries her foster has taken her to, meeting people, kids, and other dogs!she loves to wrestle and play with other dogs!If you are looking for a faithful companion with a big heart and a little extra character, Vomma is ready to be by your side. She is currently in foster care. If you are interested in adopting her, please submit an application on our website.

Story
Say Howdy to Daryl and Jessie! Their owner had to surrender them after an unexpected medical condition left him unable to care for them.  This bonded pair are only a year apart, and have been raised together since puppyhood so we really want to keep them together! He’s a little bit country and she’s a little bit rock-n-roll, but they go together like peas and carrots!  Daryl is a laid-back, handsome brindle with a sweet, calm demeanor, and gives the best dog hugs ever! The true hound that he is, he loves long walks with his nose to the ground or in the air to make sure those pesky squirrels stay up in the trees.  But don’t let him fool you, he has a funny, mischievous side as well.  If his nose can reach it, his mouth can eat it, but only when you’re not looking.   While Daryl is happy moseying along, Jessie’s ready to put the pedal to the metal.   She puts the “sass” in sassafras!   When this girl gets excited, clear the floor, ‘cause she likes to dance like no one’s watching!  This little fashionista somehow matched her eyes to her coat, she’s a real beauty!  But there’s nothing she loves more than snuggling up with you on the couch.  That is, once you move her over an inch and squeeze in beside her.  She’s not giving up her spot easily! They may be polar opposites, but they agree that they are looking for somebody with a lot of love to give…and treats(bones)…and cuddles…and belly/butt rubs and, oh yeah, a big yard would be great because, well, they’re not the best on leash, but they’re getting better!   December 2, 2024, 4:04 pm
