Hi! I'm CJ, and I'm a 50 pound cattle dog mix, about 5 years old. I like everyone I meet, canine or human. No one is a stranger to me! My favorite things:-Making canine and human friends-Belly rubs, naps, and cuddling-Food!-Walks with stops to smell things. What I'm looking for in a home:-Another dog friend! (preferred but not required)-Either a yard, or someone that enjoys spending time outside and lets me sniff around-People who are home a lot and wont leave me alone too much! I'm the bestest boy and am ready to settle into the next part of my life! I do well in a kennel if my dog friend is next to me, I walk nicely on leash, know a few tricks, and do the best full body wiggle when I see you!  Do I sound like the buddy for you?! If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $250 and I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. I have genetically bad hips and the rescue is in the process of fixing them for me. I had the first one fixed and am recovering from that currently but doing better every day! (I can still walk 2-3 miles a day, It really isnt slowing me down too much) ##1538559##

🎶 Oh Mandy, baby, can’t you see? 🎶. Our girl Mandy has a little something for everyone! From spots to stripes, Mandy brings all the fun to wherever she is. She LOVES other canine friends and would really enjoy one in her forever home. She’s approx 1.5 years old and boasts house training and reluctant crate training (she tolerates the crate but doesn’t love it) on her resume. Mandy is looking for an active family with a fenced in yard. She’s been fine with kiddos, however she is sometimes unaware of her size, so dog savvy kiddos are a plus! While her breed is a mystery, we think a Catahoula is likely predominantly in there, but who can be sure? Mandy is in foster in Greeley, Colorado *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mandy You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Hello there, I'm Mikko! I'm an adult dog who loves to explore and play. I'm smart and independent, I've even mastered the no-pull harness. It's great for long walks and adventures! I have lots of energy. I'm also a big fan of treats, they're my favorite reward for learning new tricks. I get along well with older children, they match my energy level perfectly. I'm looking for a forever home with a family who appreciates my intelligence and independence. I promise to bring joy, fun, and unconditional love to your life. Will you be my forever family?April 23, 2024, 12:05 pm

Finn is one smart pup! He knows several commands: 'sit', 'stay', 'shake' ('paw'), 'lay' and 'spin'! He's crate trained and has no issues with staying in it. He walks well - occasional puller but calms down quickly! He loves his treats and he loves butt scratches! He also loves to snuggle! No, he isn't a lap dog ;) But a lover, no less. He's got a waggy tail; he's a happy boy! We recommend that you bring your dog for a long visit - Finn is known to do better with female dogs. Because of his size, we recommend older children, if you have them. Finn can't wait to meet you!April 23, 2024, 12:05 pm

Meet Vic, the epitome of sweetness and happiness! His adorable ears perk up as he listens intently to youâ&#194&#128&#194&#148it's simply adorable! This friendly pup is a pro at sitting nicely for treats, but his true love language is receiving pets, especially booty scratches! His former owner reports that he's crate-trained and has no issues hanging out in it. Vic is a people lover and enjoys the company of humans, including kids. However, he's not fond of cats, so a cat-free home would be best for him. Vic is an absolute gem of a dog, and you really should meet him! If you have a dog, feel free to bring them along for a meet-and-greet!April 23, 2024, 12:05 pm

Story
Mojo, an around-6-year old, 50 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback / Lab mix, is a great example of why people love the beauty and sweetness of mixed breed dogs. This breed mix is in the opinion of Texas veterinarians. Farfel's doesn't do DNA testing and therefore can't swear to it.. All we know for certain is that this sweet as can be guy is absolutely irresistible! Can you imagine a dog being safer at an overcrowded high-kill shelter than with his previous owner? Well, that was Mojo's life. This kind and loving guy had an evil owner who enjoyed watching him suffer. He was left chained up just outside the kitchen window so his owner could watch him each day him slowly dying. Mojo was never fed or given water. The only hydration he received was from the rain that accumulated in filthy puddles in the yard. No matter how this starving dog whimpered and cried, he never received food and was on too short a chain to move and fend for himself. For month after painful month, Mojo was forced to lay on hard cement with no shade or roof. He stayed outside, attached to his heavy chain in the heat of the Texas summer, and the cold of winter. Mojo's body was slowly giving up, and he no longer had the energy to stand. Neighbors started noticing Mojo, unable to move in the filthy yard, and asked the owner to relinquish him to the authorities. Sadly he refused. He told the neighbors that the dog would be dead soon anyway. It wasn't until the authorities intervened that Mojo was thankfully confiscated and removed from the property. A cruelty case was filed against the previous owner. (The picture of skinny Mojo laying on the ground was taken by the neighbor and given to the police). Even though the shelter was nursing Mojo back to health, with abuse cases coming into the shelter every day, Mojo was placed on the euthanasia list due to lack of space. This brave boy has fought so hard to live for so long that Farfel's Rescue just couldn't turn our backs on him. We spoke up to save Mojo's life and he's now safe and sound and has made his way to Colorado. Mojo now sleeps in his foster moms bed at night, and is happier than ever, and hoping to find his forever home soon. Notes from Mojo's Texas foster, and his Colorado foster: * * * * From Texas foster: "The first time I met Mojo at the shelter, we weren't allowed to video or take pictures because he was a cruelty case still pending, however, we couldn't help falling deeply in love the minute we met him. Poor Mojo wagged and loved us up from the very first moment. Our hearts broke because he's such a sweet boy who is sooo skinny and still so hungry. Mojo was a staff favorite and whenever the employees or volunteers were at the shelter, they took this sweetie from his tiny cage, brought him to the office and loved him up! I then took him home to foster and what a good boy. He was so relieved to be in a home that he fell asleep as soon as we got home. Once he started warming up and realizing he was safe, he showed just how much personality he has!!" From Mojo's Colorado foster: "Oh Mojo is a hoot! He is so happy and friendly and social, and you wouldn't even know he's 6 years old, because he acts like he's maybe 2 or 3! He LOVES toys and playing. This boy never got to be a real dog until now, so he is living it up. He is very active and very playful. He would do great with an active adopter who has time to train him some basic skills. He is very cuddly when he does settle down, and sleeps in bed with me. While he is good with dogs off leash and in the home, he has some on leash sensitivity where he barks if he sees another dog. I think he just doesn't know how to contain his excitement. He responds very well to a treat distraction, and is VERY VERY VERY food motivated! He met two kids on a walk yesterday, they were 7 & 9 and he was so sweet with them. He would do well in a home with kids, as long as they know he is not so gentle when taking treats from your hand! He was denied food for a long time, so he inhales it when he gets it! He is potty trained!! " * * * * Our wonderful boy has a cute little smirk. When he was vetted, the vet felt that his smile is just a tad crooked, and that this was most likely caused by a kick to the face by his cruel previous "owner". (Nothing was needed, as he is not in pain and nothing is broken). Whatever it is, it gives him the cutest little smile. When Mojo was vetted and vaccinated, a heart worm test was given that came out positive...not at all surprising for a dog that lived under these awful conditions. Farfel's has already started Mojo's treatment, and will cover all costs for treatment to make this wonderful dog heart worm negative. The only thing we ask of our adopter is to keep Mojo from being too active (a great bonding time) while he goes through the treatment process which consists of several vet visits with injections over a period of sixty days. Farfel's has never had a dog treated for heart worm that didn't ultimately result in a negative heart worm outcome. Mojo is not yet neutered, but we do cover the full cost of his neuter at our vet. (Neuter is required to finalize any adoption). Mojo is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.
