We would like to address the elephant in the room..or..ermm..the Brady in the room 🐘. This guy may resemble an elephant but he is in fact Brady, a five year old blue Weimaraner🩶🐾. We’d love to say that Brady is 135lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal 🦾, but that just ain’t it with this guy. He’s 135lbs of obese and we are so sad that he was allowed to get to this weight. Don’t you worry though, Brady has officially boarded the weight loss train here at Camp FSDA and while we can’t wait to see the pounds come off him, this is going to be a long term project for his future family. Brady is a large Weim, but large in the terms of 90lbs, not 135lbs. At 90lbs, Brady will be so much happier and will feel SO much better. We did a full blood panel to verify there wasn’t an underlying medical explanation for his excessive weight and we were able to rule out any medical causes - his weight appears to be the result of long-term overfeeding and insufficient exercise. 😩. Our bubs also has the CUTEST little mohawk on the back of his neck that we are obsessed with 😍. Brady was surrendered to a vet clinic after his elderly owners brought him in to be euthanized. We are beyond thankful that this vet declined to euthanize him and instead reached out for help 🙌🏽. Brady is a very sweet, misunderstood boy who feels the typical sensitive Weimaraner feelings but at a 135lb scale. He would likely do best as an only dog but we are happy to consider adopters with another dog if they are dog savvy and have Weimaraner or other similar breed experience. Brady may be a project, but every pound he loses is going to reveal the dog he’s always deserved to be. We know there’s a family out there that’s ready to cheer him on every step of the way. We love this big boy and we can’t wait to see him succeed! Brady is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and ready to find a family to continue his weight loss journey!!! He’s here with us at Camp FSDA in Parrish, Florida and his adoption fee is $300. Finn is an adopted Catahoula mix from Tucson Arizona! He’s weighs about 70 pounds, but we call him skinny Finny! He’s an avid smuggler, but could also hike for days! He loves long walks, a good chew toy and lots of loving. Finn has some anxiety in new situations, and it can take some time for introductions with new dogs. We love him very much, and rehoming has been a very difficult decision for us, but feel he deserves a person/family that can provide this lover dog with the time and attention he deserves. Willow is a 10-month-old mixed breed with a big heart and an even bigger personality packed into her 53 lb frame. She’s incredibly smart, people-oriented, and happiest when she’s included in whatever her humans are doing. Whether it’s going for walks, learning new things, or curling up for snuggles at the end of the day, Willow just wants to be close to her people. She is house trained and already knows sit, wait, heel, and lay down. She learns quickly and thrives with structure, attention, and affection. Willow would do best with someone who has the time and energy to continue working with her and helping her grow into an amazing adult dog. She will come with her leash, harness, collar, slow feeder, and remaining food to help make her transition easier. Willow is a wonderful dog, but I never intended on keeping her too long. I can no longer give her the time, consistency, and lifestyle she deserves long-term. My priority is finding her a safe, loving forever home.
