What’s better than one Weimaraner? TWO obviously! 😍 Rye, the silver lady, is a 6 year old pocket Weim. Lucas, the big blue boy, is 4 years old. Rye and Lucas are both L4P alumni, adopted from us to the same family at different times, who were returned to us earlier this month 😫. Rye was originally found as a stray in rural north Florida in 2020. We pulled her as soon as we could, and upon first looking at her once she made it to us, we were sure she was a puppy because of her size. She was in fact a young adult, but she’s a little lady. Rye can be a little timid at first, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up to new people and once she does, she’s glued to you. Lucas was also originally found as a stray in 2023. Lucas was skin and bones, severely ill from infection, and had an old, untreated broken leg. We jumped to get him out of the shelter as quickly as we could, and we spent a long time nursing him back to health. He does walk a little funny at times, but he is not in any pain and he doesn’t seem to even notice it. Lucas has never met a stranger and wants to be included in everything. Rye and Lucas love everyone - both dogs and people, but they especially love each other. They depend on each other for a lot, and they’ve proven to us that they have a strong bond. We love their bond and we will not break it, so we are looking for an adoptive home for them together. They are happy, smart, sweet, loving dogs and we know our Weim family will help us find the right home for them! Rye is spayed and Lucas is neutered. They’re both microchipped and up to date on vaccines. They’re fostered in Parrish, Florida, and their adoption fee together is $550. A shy and cautious boy, our handsome Kricket is looking for his forever home with a calm family who won't ask too much of him. Kricket is 8 years old and has been at Satchel's for 4 of those years learning to explore the world again one paw at a time. He may come up to you with worried eyes, but with a bit of encouragement and possibly a tasty treat, he will become your friend after a few meets. Kricket has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's and enjoys a day off in the home every week where he gets his weekly bath and enjoys some air conditioned nap time. He goes great in the home, staying off furniture and no accidents. Kricket loves the frequent air conditioned van rides with Quentin (his Woof Pack leader), stopping for walks around the shopping center parking lots and Twin Lakes, always engrossed in investigating. Kricket walks great on leash, though if spooked, tends to pull back to home base. When he is comfortable, Kricket will show a smirking smile, sneak in a few kisses and a happy wagging tail. He is a very sweet boy underneath that spotty coat of his, and with patience and encouragement will be able to expand his horizons. If you are looking for a friend to share new experiences with, but still like a cozy day in, Kricket would love to meet you! Kricket is uncertain of strangers and a few meets would be needed. Our very special, Ruby 🩷 We might be biased, but Ruby is one of the CUTEST freckle-faced puppies we’ve ever seen 💕 We have no idea what Ruby is or who her parents were, but she is the smartest, most amazing, fun-loving puppy that we can’t get enough of. Ruby is 5 months old and about 25lbs. She doesn’t have huge paws and doesn’t seem to be growing super fast, so we would take a guess that she may be more of a medium/large dog and end up around 45lbs. About Ruby: 🌟 She LOVES dogs. She loves playing, chasing and cuddling up to them. She gives no personal space and will lay on a dog’s head 😂 She just assumes every dog is her friend and can’t get enough of her dog friends. 🌟 She LOVES people. Ruby will smother you with kisses, follow you everywhere you go and snuggle up while you watch TV. She’s never met a stranger. 🌟 She’s super smart and food motivated. She knows sit and runs to the treat cabinet and sits down in front of it to show you how smart she is 😂 🌟 She has a big personality and lights up a room. She’s a fearless, brave little puppy who is going to be the most amazing adult dog one day. She’s full of life and not shy. We would really like for Ruby to have another playful dog in her forever home. But if you don’t have one, please let us know your plan for how/when she will play with other dogs 🐕 She also needs someone home often while she’s still a puppy. Ruby has age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip and will be spayed.
