Hi, I'm Belle. Like a Southern Belle :) I was living on the streets until somebody took my picture one day without my permission... RUDE! They posted my picture on Facebook and animal control picked me up the next day. From there I made my way to a foster home with The Rescue House, where I am learning what its like to be loved and cared for properly. I had some large mammary tumors that my rescuers removed for my own comfort. I wish my previous hoomans had me spayed so I wouldn't have had mammary tumors in the first place... They were quite uncomfortable. I also had a dental where they stole some of my teeth and cleaned the rest. These hoomans are strange! But NOW I am in tip top shape. All I need is my family to find me and let me live with them FUREVER :) I am available for adoption now! I am looking for a home with someone that will let me cuddle them and let me chew on my toys. I do have a good amount of energy for a "senior dog." I can run fast, but I also love cuddles. I will need to be in a home with no kids, no cats, and no other dogs. A UNICORN HOME if you will! I need someone that has a lot of patience because I am scared of new people and new things. I took a few months to get used to my current foster home, and I still get scared when my routine gets messed up :( I am estimated to be around 8 or 9 years old, so I have plenty of life ahead of me. I could be a whippet mix, but since I am a rescue dog they say they don't really know. Please let me live with you FURever! Athena is a sweet girl, but she is very resource guarded we had an incident with our other senior male dog and herself. Do to this incident we now need to rehome her. She does not do well with other animals. She polices walks, jumping, and getting attention from her owner, we are newly pregnant and expecting our first child in November. We currently have both dogs separated in our house and they don’t see each other. So she has her own space and is doing very well during this transition period! She loves to play and is easy to love. She can be sweet with people but requires an experienced owner who understands dog behavior and can provide a safe environment with no other animals. She does better also with children ages 5 and up! This is an urgent rehoming situation. I want her placed responsibly and safely. Please message only if you are serious and able to handle a dog that needs to be an only pet.
