Story
Meet Wynonna! Wynonna is a quiet lady looking for a home of her own! She is approximately two years old, and is so sweet once she warms up to new folks. She is the ultimate hang-out pal, happy to just chill and spend time with her people. She's not super adventurous, and doesn't love going for walks, so a chill lifestyle and a home with a fenced-in yard would be perfect for her.   Wynonna gets along with other dogs, and has been fostered in a home with kiddos. She is currently located in the Greenwich, NY area. Her adoption fee is $300.Interested in adopting or fostering Wynonna? Apply below    ##2213738##

Story
SPEEDWAGON - 1 year, 30lbs, Whippet/Terrier Mix, Neutered  This dog is available for foster to adopt. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Our Team Says: "Speedwagon needs a home in a calm part of the city - BK, Queens, etc. He would thrive in the burbs. He's not meant to be a city boy."  His Foster Parent Says: "Speedy is a wonderful, sweet boy who is remarkably well behaved and he’s been a joy to have by my side. He’s an affectionate, playful pup with a great balance of energy and calm: he's always up for a game of tug or fetch, a training session, or a long walk, but also content to chew on a bone or nap while I work. His daily routine includes a long morning walk (70 mins minutes), a shorter one later in the day (45-60 mins), two short potty breaks (15 mins) and plenty of enrichment in between (sniff mat, lick mat, and chew toys). He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate and is fully housetrained (no fuss with potty breaks!). He’s food-motivated and eager to train: he has sit, down, paw, and touch in his repertoire and we’re working on stay and switch now. He has a very cute little prance when he’s happy or curious or following me around doing chores, and he nuzzles in for cuddles throughout the day. We are still working on a few things: he can be jumpy on people and furniture, occasionally mouthy during play, and has some work to do with on-leash behavior. He has been improving every day with consistent rewards, redirections, and corrections!" Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level:MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Cuddle Bug Level High — Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the time  Potty TrainedYes — Few or no accidents  Comfy with strangers? Yep — Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, super social butterfly, loves anyone who will stop to say hello. Comfortable with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision) - n/a or unsure Social with Other Dogs? Mostly — Generally good with other dogs but may be picky - he displays friendly and playful behavior with our resident dog. Unsure about other dogs though! Mouthy Behavior? Higher  – We don't believe he was ever trained to not be mouthy. Wants to put everything in their mouth. Tries to chew on your hands when playing or needs attention, grabs the leash with its mouth, loves to gnaw on your personal belongings. We are working on training that out of him. Saying no, no biting or ow. Replacement toys. He is fast to stop or let go.  Leash Manners? Getting the Hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in its life but he/she is figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction.  Okay in the city? Needs to live in a calm area - NOT a city boy — Spooked easily by loud noises and bustling areas but walks pretty well and probably just needs more time to adjust Jumping on People to Say Hi? Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited. Stops with correction and further training.  Separation Anxiety? Low – Completely fine being left home alone. Usually found on the couch. Just have to make sure the house is safe as he is still mouthy Crate training? Not at all – We are working on getting one, just so he begins to have an option. Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Meet Jonas — a gentle, resilient 1.5-year-old, 35-lb sweetheart who’s looking for a loving home. Jonas is a truly special dog whose heart is overflowing with love. Despite being neglected and starved by the people who were supposed to care for him — left chained outside without compassion — Jonas never lost his sweetness. He just adores people, and his ability to trust and love after everything he endured is remarkable. A kind woman stepped in when she saw his condition and rescued him, bringing him to SOS El Arca Animal Rescue. There, Jonas received the medical care and slowly gained weight and strength. Today, Jonas is a grateful, affectionate companion. He follows his caretakers around, gently placing his head in their laps with those beautiful eyes that radiate tenderness and gratitude. We would love to find Jonas his forever home — or a foster-to-adopt home — in New York for our next transport on December 9th. His ticket is ready; he’s simply waiting for his person. Jonas is great with other dogs and gentle with cats. He walks beautifully on a leash — he practically flies beside you — with no training! He is smart, eager to please, and deeply connected to the people who care for him. Training & Temperament - Crate trained - Potty training is improving — consistency will help him settle quickly - Walks well on a leash - Gentle, affectionate, and very people-oriented - Friendly with dogs and cats - Easygoing and adaptable — a wonderful match for many different households Health Details - Neutered and microchipped - Up to date on vaccinations - Heartworm tested — negative - On flea, tick, and heartworm prevention - Dewormed If you’d like to learn more about Jonas or are interested in fostering or adopting, please visit sosanimalwelfare.org to complete an application or email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com.

Story
At just 3 years old and 32 lbs, Annie is ready to give—and receive—so much love with her forever family. Annie is an incredibly sweet girl. She can be shy at first, but offer her a few treats and she’ll melt right into you. She loves cuddles, gentle affection, and spending time with people she trusts. Her favorite part of the day is when volunteers take her out for walks — she absolutely adores exploring and being outside. In an overcrowded shelter where puppies are chosen first, wonderful dogs like Annie are too often overlooked. While the younger pups get attention, others wait quietly, hoping someone will finally see their worth. Annie and her brother Alfred were abandoned when their owners simply moved away and left the two young pups behind. Concerned neighbors brought them to SOS El Arca Animal Rescue, where they were finally safe. About a year old when found, they have now spent two long years in the shelter. Alfie was fortunate enough to travel to New York, where he was adopted by a loving family who absolutely adores him. Now, we dream of the same happy ending for Annie. Imagine how she must have felt watching her brother leave the kennel without her… Annie has a chance to come to NYC on December 9th — but only if we find a foster or foster-to-adopt home. Her personality is truly wonderful. She gets along beautifully with dogs, is gentle with cats, and is sweet and calm around children. She has the softest demeanor and the most peaceful, loving energy. Health: - Spayed - Vaccinated - Microchipped - Dewormed - 4DX tested — heartworm negative - On flea/tick preventatives Adopt Annie! If you’re ready to open your heart to this sweet girl, apply today at sosanimalwelfare.org or email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com. Annie is ready for love, walks, cuddles — and finally, her forever home. ❤️
