Story
Cooper is located in Victorville, CA and must be met there. Cooper is a fun and busy little Yorkie who loves to play and explore. He was found abandoned with no owner coming forward for him, but he hasn’t let that dampen his spirit. Cooper is curious, happy, and gets along great with other dogs, though he does bark at and chase cats. He’s high energy and would be a wonderful fit for older kids in an active family or for an adult who enjoys the outdoors. At about 2 to 3 years old and 12 to 14 pounds, Cooper is young, full of life, and always ready for adventure. He adores running, zoomies, squeaker toys, and chasing balls, and he definitely prefers an active lifestyle over being a lap dog. After a couple of much-needed haircuts, his coat has grown back soft and silky. Cooper is current on his shots, neutered, crate trained, microchipped, and ready for a forever home where he can keep learning, playing, and sharing his love. Meet Hershey, a 5 lb, 2-month-old poodle mix who is as sweet and lovable as his name. Hershey’s story begins with his mama, Lowlaa, who was an unspayed owner surrender from Compton. By the time she arrived at Shelter Hope, Lowlaa was already pregnant. She gave birth to her beautiful litter in the safety and comfort of foster care, and now little Hershey is ready to start his own journey. Hershey and his sister have grown up surrounded by love, and it shows. They are incredibly sweet and love cuddles and giving kisses. Hershey is the more affectionate of the two, always happy to snuggle and show love. He is playful, confident, and curious, never afraid to explore. He also loves zooming around like a little whirlwind and enjoys chewing on bones or squeaky toys to his heart’s content. Despite his playful energy, Hershey is also a total cuddle bug at heart. He is fun-loving, affectionate, and full of personality, making him the perfect companion for anyone looking for a fun, loving little dog. Sadly, he was surrendered to us the day after Christmas after spending much of his life confined to a yard where, as the children grew older, he received less and less attention. Since arriving at Shelter Hope, Simmba got a fresh start with a grooming makeover and lots of care. Though the physical and emotional neglect he endured has left its mark, Simmba’s spirit is strong. He can sometimes guard people and may lash out if he feels cornered, so he would do best in a home committed to helping him work through these behaviors with patience, consistency, and plenty of exercise.
