Story
Poppi came to us after his elderly owners both passed away and their caretaker left him at the shelter. Poppi enjoys long walks despite being a senior and is fine with everyone when he is out on walks. Although Poppi loves his foster sister Sophie, a rambunctious pup, he would do better as either an only pup or with another male dog. He knows the resident kitty is about his size so he just leaves her be. He also prefers a quiet home and would probably be  better without children. Poppi is housetraind and enjoys hanging out in his crate if the door is left open.  He has also discovered toys and it is so cute to see him play with them.  If you are a yorkie person, this is your guy.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org January 5, 2026, 7:42 pm

IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Julie! Julie is about a year old and weighs about 16 lbs. She looks just like a Yorkie mix (just a guess). Julie is a sweet and energetic girl who is the life of the party. She is happy, playful and ready for any adventure. Julie is great with the teenager in her foster home and we think she would do fine with younger respectful children as well. Julie loves other dogs and is very playful with other dogs. Julie is a social butterfly who would love to be your companion wherever you go. Julie has done well with house training but is on a consistent schedule. Julie will do best in a home where someone is around a good portion of the day as this is what she is accustomed to in her foster home. Julie will be spayed at the end of February, she is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $500.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Meet PeeWee: Small Dog, Big Rules 🐾 At just 10 lbs, 4.5-year-old Yorkie mix PeeWee is living proof that dynamite comes in small packages… and occasionally explodes if you don’t respect personal space. Small, scrappy, and selective. I’m basically the bouncer at the club of my own affection, if you’re on the list, you get VIP cuddles. If you’re not? Keep your hands to yourself, Karen. Here’s the deal: PeeWee is adorable, but he’s not that random-friendly-pet-me-at-PetSmart kind of adorable. If you try to touch him without an invitation, he’s happy to give you a quick reminder that he did not consent. Once you’re in his trusted circle, though? Boom—you’re his ride-or-die. He’ll be your shadow, your lap warmer, your TV-watching buddy, and possibly your therapist if you pay him in treats. PeeWee has a very specific roommate policy: no other pets, no exceptions. He’s the leading man in his own sitcom, and there’s no room for sidekicks stealing the spotlight. If you’re looking for a pint-sized companion with a huge personality, a selective guest list, and a serious commitment to his people, PeeWee is ready to sign the adoption papers, once he decides you’re worthy. Story
Meet Harry & Sally – A Sweet Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home Harry and Sally are an adorable father–daughter duo who are hoping to spend their golden years together in a loving home. Harry is a 15-year-old Maltese mix, and Sally is his 12-year-old Yorkie mix daughter. These two are a bonded pair and must be adopted together—they’ve spent their lives side by side and truly thrive in each other’s company. They are doing wonderfully in their foster home and have settled into a comfortable routine. Harry and Sally enjoy playing with each other occasionally, but their favorite pastime is snuggling on the couch and being close to their people. If you’re looking for loyal companions who just want to be where the humans are, these two fit the bill perfectly. They are pee pad trained, and continuing to work on house training with good progress. At night, they sleep well in a crate—after a short period of initial protest, they settle in and rest quietly. Harry and Sally are slowly warming up to the resident dogs in their foster home and would do best with other calm, quiet dogs who respect their space. Their experience with cats and children is unknown, so a calmer household is likely the best match for them. These sweet seniors have so much love to give and are ready to bring warmth, companionship, and gentle joy to a forever home that will cherish them together. If you’re looking to open your heart to a devoted duo, Harry and Sally would love to meet you.  Adoption fee: $525, includes all shots, sterilized, heartworm negative, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Sweet, laid-back Leo is a 10-year-young gentleman looking for his forever home. He came to Mutt Love after his beloved human mom could no longer care for him due to cancer, and now he’s ready to be someone’s loyal little sidekick. Leo is a quiet, easygoing pup with a lovable 17-lb “dad bod” (a light diet and plenty of walks are in his future). He thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Once he chooses “his person”, he’s ALL IN. Think loyal shadow, professional snuggler, and emotional support sidekick. He is fully house-trained, loves his toys, and does well with children and other dogs. Cats are still an unknown.
