Story
This adorable little thing with the face of an angel is very, very selective who he'll allow in his inner-circle. He was abandoned; tied to the fence of our spay and neuter clinic a few years ago and he CAN be a little biter.. There's no rhyme or reason - either he will like you or he won't, so he'll definitely need to go to a quiet home without children. He does well with other dogs.

Story
Hi FCCR family, I’m Tom, an 8-year-old, 9-pound Yorkie boy, and this is my best friend and sister Oney – she’s a 10-year-old, 12-pound girl, and we’re a package deal! I love belly rubs, playing with toys AND crawling into boxes, plus racing around the yard, and afternoon naps on the couch. Oney’s my cuddle buddy who likes carrying blankets instead of toys (much comfier for napping on, she says!). She’s a retired puppy mama ready for the leisure life, and while she takes a minute to warm up to new people, once she does, she’s all about those back rubs. We’re both pretty good with housetraining as long as we get outside every few hours, and we love our treats for a job well done! Oney’s an excellent watchdog who’ll let you know when something’s up, and I’m just friendly with everyone. We’re great with other dogs, not sure about cats since we’ve never met one, and we’d probably do best with older kids. We sleep together in a crate at night and stick together like glue because we’re bonded for life. Oh, and we both have a little quirk with our back legs (birth deformities that can’t be fixed, but don’t worry – we’re not in pain!), and it doesn’t slow us down one bit! We’re ready to find our forever home where we can love, play, and cuddle together! Visit www.floridacockerrescue.org to apply! ADOPTION FEE: $575 (for the pair)

Story
Hi ya, new friends! My name is Bonnie and I’m a one-year-old Chorkie girl – that’s Chihuahua meets Yorkshire Terrier – and I pack a whole lot of personality into my tiny 9-pound frame. People say I’ve got that classic terrier attitude, and I would say they’re absolutely right. LOL I’m confident, I’m smart as a whip, and I know exactly what I want out of life. And what I want most is my very own family who gets me. I’ve been let down before by people before but I’m an optimist at heart. I trust quickly because I believe in second chances, and I’m hoping you might be mine. When I find my people, I love them with every ounce of my little being. I’m the kind of dog who will be your shadow, your confidant, and your most loyal companion. Two big personal pluses — I have excellent house manners and I’m fantastic on a leash. I love our walks together and showing off my perfect manners. I actually get along just fine with other dogs most of the time – we can play and hang out together without any drama. But when it’s meal time or I’m playing with my favorite toys, I prefer to enjoy them without other dogs around. A girl deserves some space sometimes! Speaking of space, I’d really thrive in an adults-only home. Kids are great, but their energy can be a bit much for a sophisticated lady like me. I prefer the calmer rhythm of adult life, where I can be the center of attention and get all the love and respect I deserve. If you’re looking for a small dog with a huge heart and just the right amount of sass, I might be your perfect match. I will bring joy, laughter, and endless snuggles to the right family. Could that be you? If yes, please submit an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. ADOPTION FEE: $375.00

Story
Hi there, I’m Xica (but call me Chica)! I’m a 7-year-old Yorkie princess weighing in at a perfect lap-sized 8-9 pounds. After spending way too much time in a cage, I’m finally discovering that life is SO much bigger and better than I ever imagined! 🏡✨ These days, you’ll find me mastering the art of yard exploration and perfecting my lap-sitting skills (I’m basically a professional snuggler now). I’m sweet as pie, come running when you call my name, and while I’m crate trained, let’s just say I much prefer your cozy couch! 💕 Us Yorkies are known for being loyal, spunky little companions, and I’m ready to show my special person just how much love this tiny heart can hold. Could that be you? 🥺 If you think so, please apply through the FCCR website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. ADOPTION FEE: $325 Update on Sweet Xica (Chica) We wanted to share an important update about our precious Yorkie girl, Xica. She’s recently been diagnosed with megaesophagus, a condition that affects how her esophagus works. What is Megaesophagus? Megaesophagus is a condition where the esophagus (the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach) loses its ability to move food down properly. Instead of the normal muscle contractions that push food along, the esophagus becomes enlarged and food can get stuck or move very slowly. This can lead to regurgitation and makes eating a bit more complicated. The Good News! Megaesophagus can be managed with some simple adjustments! Dogs with this condition need to eat in an upright, vertical position so gravity can help move food down to their stomach. And here’s the best part - Xica LOVES this! She’s a total lap dog who adores sitting upright in her human’s lap, which is exactly the position she needs to be in for feeding. It’s like she was made for this management style! Xica is also on medication to help improve her esophageal muscle function, and our vet continues to monitor her closely to ensure she’s doing well. ✨What This Means for Xica’s Future Home✨ Xica will need a family committed to feeding her in an upright position and keeping her vertical for 10-15 minutes after meals. With proper management, dogs with megaesophagus can live happy, full lives - and Xica is already proving what a little sweetheart she is through it all. Please don’t let her condition deter you from considering her adoption. Xica is an absolute doll and she will make a wonderful family companion!!! We are happy to answer any questions.

Story
Hello kind folks! My name is Sonia and I am a 10 year old 9 lb yorkie girl in search of my new home and forever family. I was found wandering the streets of South Florida right before New Years Day and I can tell you I was very very scared. Thankfully the shelter director called FCCR for assistance and in a New York minute I was picked up and placed in a quiet foster home to decompress and enjoy the holidays in a peaceful and loving home. Foster mommy says I am a very sweet, loving and quiet little girl. I love being around people and other dogs but no idea on cats...quite frankly as long as they are friendly I am sure I'd like them. They just need to be nice kitties since I am a SMALL little girl and I have zero aggression in me so if they were to pick a fight I wouldn't know what to do!!!! Also, I am a little vision impaired but no worries...I can still see you and my surroundings, especially during the day! If you are interested in makng me part of your family please submit an application to www.floridacockerrescue.org ADOPTION FEE: $295

Story
Hello new friends, My name is Star! I’m an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier girl, and at just 3.6 lbs, I’m super tiny and packed with personality! Let me tell you my story! I’m a very loving little princess who sadly ended up at a local shelter. The nice ladies here rescued me and found out I am heart worm positive. Now I’m getting the treatment I need through a slow-kill method and I heard them say I am expected to make a full recovery. My foster mom is taking great care of me and I’m still full of life and love. So I am a girl who believes in fairy tales and that I should be treated like royalty (can you blame me?). I love to be carried around because the world looks so much better from up there! I’m high energy and constantly in motion—I’m really cute that way, always keeping things lively! I want to be with my humans non-stop because being your shadow is my favorite job. And belly rubs? Yes, please! I would love them all day long! I’m good with other dogs and love making furry friends! I’m okay on a leash but not great—I could definitely use some leash training to help me walk like the little lady I am. I’m also working on my house manners and potty training—I go on pee pads now and I’m learning more every day! One more thing about me…I have a soft jaw and no teeth, so I need to eat very soft or soupy food (but hey, it’s delicious!). Because I’m so petite and delicate, I need a home without kids for my safety. I’m not sure about cats yet! If you’re looking for a tiny princess who will be your BFF and fill your days with love and laughs, I’m your girl! Visit www.floridacockerrescue.org to apply! ADOPTION FEE: $395
