Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Princeton! Princeton is a charming 3-year-old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix with a big heart in a small package. He does great with other dogs, has a moderate energy level, and absolutely loves being held—he’s a true cuddle companion. Princeton is housebroken and crate trained, making him an easy addition to the right home. Grooming isn’t his favorite and he does best when sedated for those appointments, but with his sweet personality and loving nature, he more than makes up for it. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who enjoys both playtime and snuggles, Princeton could be your perfect match. A home with a fenced yard is preferred as he likes to potty off leash. Princeton currently weighs about 7lbs., is about 3 years old (est. birth date 01/20/2023), and his adoption fee is $315. Princeton has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Princeton, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Hello there!  My name is China, and I'm an 8-year-old, 10-pound female Yorkie looking for my forever home. I've been told I have the sweetest personality—you'll often find me by your side because I love being with my humans. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or going for a ride in the car (which I absolutely adore!), I'm happiest when we're together. I have lived with a foster dog and a cat sibling, and we all get along just fine! I've also spent time with kids aged 4 and up, and we've had a great time together. So, I'm pretty adaptable when it comes to making new friends, both furry and human.  I do have a little deformity in my front legs, but don't worry—it doesn't slow me down one bit! I'm still active and love to explore and play. I'm also working on my house training and making progress. I might just be the one for you! I can't wait to meet you and start our new adventure together!  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##2190771##

Story
Meet Zacira, a precious 6-year-old, 5-pound Yorkshire Terrier with a heart full of love! This sweet little girl is as affectionate as they come and is happiest when she's curled up in your lap or snuggled safely in your arms. Zacira is a true "plug-and-play" companion who settles in easily and is happy to go with the flow. She's friendly with everyone she meets and will immediately roll over for belly rubs—one of her favorite things! Her tail is constantly wagging, and her cheerful personality is sure to brighten your day. She's currently working on her house training and leash training and is making good progress. With a little patience and consistency, she'll continue to blossom. If you're looking for a loving little shadow who wants nothing more than to be close to her person, Zacira is your girl. She's ready to fill her forever home with cuddles, kisses, and endless tail wags! Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. Story
I was at the county shelter in Dec of 2024 as a stray. My eye was fine at that time. With my micro-chip I went back home. In March this year the owners surrendered me with my left eye hanging out. I'm a pure breed, but that didn't stop me from being neglected, or worse. My foster rushed me to the vet to see if I was in pain. Apparently the pain came before the eye bulged out. Fast forward I've had it removed, along with a dental and I'm ready to go. I'm pretty much blind in the other eye, but that doesn't stop me from finding my way after a few days. I can even come and go outside without a problem. I'm only 6 years old so I've got lots of time for someone to take good care of me, and in return I will give them love, loyalty, and lots of good times. I'll be groomed this week (week of 4/5) so I'll be very handsome. I get along with other dogs. I crook my head when you address me which is adorable!

Story
I have papers, but that didn’t get me a forever home. The breeder released me and I changed homes twice. I spent a lot of time out in a garage in the first home, because I didn’t get along with other dogs. Then I went to another short term home for the same reason. My foster mom says I’m not aggressive or bossy. I actually shrink when another dog challenges me. All I want is to be in Y.O.U.R arms so I can cuddle. Yes, I’m a big cuddlier. I, also, smile as you can see. I am missing an eye, but the other eye is great. My birthdate is Sept 7, 2017. I'm pretty tiny at 9lbs, so older children (12 and older) would be necessary. I’m so ready for a forever home. I do hope Y.O.U. are that home.
