These animals are not located in any of the Society's physical locations. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***The animal's behavior around other pets: He lives with another dog (a female pit-bull), and they get along for the most part. They play pretty intensely, and Harry can get a bit reactive, but he does initiate some of the play with her. If there are other dogs/humans that he does not know, he is also reactive (barking and lunging) to them. The animal's behavior around children; Harry has always been super sweet to our children since they were newborns. When they don't mess with him too much, he is calm. When kids scream or get chaotic, he definitely feeds off that energy and gets a bit frantic. He does like to lick them a lot.Any past or existing health issues that the animal has had; Harry has high anxiety that manifests in the form of barking and charging (NO BITING) and anxiety/excitement urination. He also chases shadows and bites at dust - a product of the anxiety. When people come into the house, he barks and charges but does not bite.Any medication the animal may currently be taking; no current medication, but we have tried about 10 different anti-anxiety medications with Insight Behavioral Vet. We took him off of everything because the medications were actually making the excitement/anxiety urination worse. Otherwise, he is fully house trained, and clearly cannot control when the excitement urinates. He never poops in the house.Any dietary restrictions that the animal may have; noneThe animal's training history (especially whether or not the animal is housebroken); We have worked with a one-on-one trainer in the past, but the trainer had said that his anxiety needed to be managed by medication first. Other than his excitement/anxiety peeing, he is completely housebroken and knows 'sit." I believe he is capable of much more, but with 3 children, we are unable to offer him more.He needs a much quieter home with no children and someone who can devote at least 2-3 walks a day to him. He is so super sweet, with no bite history, just very on edge and noisy with a busy home. More about Pink Pony: Housebroken: Working on it! She can be a little nervous about going to the bathroom on walks, and has preferred to potty in her foster's yard. She will need to keep working on this with positive reinforcement and a consistent routine. Crate trained: No, she is not yet comfortable with being home alone and can become distressed when her person leaves home without her. She will need a patient adopter who can help her work on this over time, and may do best with someone who is home more often than not. Leash walking: She can be a bit nervous on walks, and may do best in a quieter area as well as working on her confidence with positive reinforcement training. Dog social: She has not had close interaction with other dogs while in our care, but has seemed timid when encountering other dogs on walks Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: She lives successfully with a respectful 10-year-old in her foster home, though may not be a match for younger kids given her timidity. Pink Pony likes: - Belly rubs! - Being near her person, preferably in your arms or on your lap - Chasing after tiny tennis balls Pink Pony craves to be loved and held, and she is the definition of a lap dog. This shy girl is learning to brave all the stimulus of the big city around her, and would love a patient adopter who can help her work on her confidence with positive reinforcement. She is very attached to her humans, so has struggled with being home alone, and may do best in a home where someone will be around more often than not. Chewbacca is the sweetest little nugget you'll ever meet who is always at your side snuggled up. He's a terrier though, so he can be feisty walking by other dogs on a leash but he's all bark and no bite. He adores his people and would do best in a home with children, another playful small dog and a family who is home often. He does mark inside on occasion but is housetrained most of the time. His fee is $850 - he is located in Houston TX and will transported upon completed adoption.

Zuzu is being fostered in Illinois. Loves me…..loves me not……loves me….loves me not…..LOVES ME! My name is Zuzu and I am plucking flower petals in hopes my wish will come true. That is, a guardian angel to love me and give me my second chance at a wonderful life. I am a vulnerable little girl, but a survivor. I was left trying to fend for myself when a Good Samaritan found me lost and alone. Being blind and hard of hearing did not serve me well on the streets, but it is not such a bad thing in a home, apartment or condo. I travel at a moderate pace with the cutest waddle, so when I bump into an obstacle I simply change directions. Doorbells, thunder and vacuums do not bother me one bit, making long naps and sleeping through the night a breeze. I settle myself into my cozy crate for sleeping and am comfortable and content in my safe place. I was extremely underweight at the time I came into care. In an effort to give me all the nourishment I would take, I have been given all kinds of healthy meal and snack choices. Now that I am at a healthy weight and confident that my belly will stay full, I have developed a refined sniffer and a discriminating palate. My foster mom is happy to oblige me and says I am deserving of the finer things in this next chapter of my journey and I guess she is right. After my recent dental and grooming, I feel great and look rather adorable! Life is worth living again and the little things make me happy. I enjoy head scratches while cuddling on a lap and will return the affection with kisses and a waggly tail. Butt rubs are just as nice and I will raise my cute little bum to make it easier for you. I don’t play with many toys, but I do have some treat finding puzzles and games that are lots of fun. Leashes are ok with me so I know I will be safe, but long walks are not my “thing.” This little girl is happiest close to home just following my nose to take in all the aromas on short meanders in the yard. A small grassy area or courtyard without too many obstacles is all I need to enjoy the outdoors. People use words like shy, calm, mellow and sweet (with just a dash of sass) to describe me. I don’t bark, whine, bite, snap, or complain. Well, maybe an occasional mumble if I am uncomfortable, but I am a pretty easy going gal. If you are looking for love and quiet companionship to fill your heart and home like I am, you may just get your wings by making my dreams and wishes for my furever home come true. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Born around August 16, 2018, and weighing 14.6 pounds, Benji has a lovable side but also exhibits some snappy behavior when he’s not comfortable or doesn’t want to be handled. Despite his past challenges, Benji is a sweet and affectionate dog who just needs a bit of understanding and patience.
