Chewbacca is the sweetest little nugget you'll ever meet who is always at your side snuggled up. He's a terrier though, so he can be feisty walking by other dogs on a leash but he's all bark and no bite. He adores his people and would do best in a home with children, another playful small dog and a family who is home often. He does mark inside on occasion but is housetrained most of the time. His fee is $850 - he is located in Houston TX and will transported upon completed adoption. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED AT: www.recycleddogsrescue.org/adoption-application

Story
Jude is a small boy who joined us from one of our shelter partners. He’s estimated to be around 1–2 years old and is hoping to find a loving family of his own. Jude is on the shy side and will thrive in a calm, patient home that can offer a slow and steady approach. Jude has been spending time in one of our wonderful foster homes, and here’s what we’ve learned so far. Potty training is going well, it appears he was on a fairly solid routine in his previous home before entering the shelter. While we don’t know much about what his life looked like before, we’re learning more each day. Jude is currently doing well with up to six-hour stretches when needed and will also use pee pads as needed. He is doing great on a leash and enjoys walks outside (when the weather is better). Jude can be nervous when meeting new people and does best when he isn’t overwhelmed. He appreciates being given the time and space to go at his own pace. While it may take him a little while to build trust, once he does, Jude forms strong bonds and loves being close to his people. Once Jude knows you’re part of his people, he turns into a semi playful, attentive companion who loves being involved. If you are interested in being Jude's forever companion and live in or within 3 hours of Chicago please apply directly. If you have any questions before applying, please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org.

Story
Reno is a sweet yorkie looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Reno is a breeder release from a commercial facility. He hasn't had the benefit a dog his age might have who was born and living in a home. That being said, while he is scared and timid, once he feels safe he is longing to bond with a family. After he has been with us a while he has come around and really wants to Velcro to a person of his own. . He needs family who will help him slowly decompress and adjust in his own time. Reno is a friendly gentle fella. He needs help on learning to potty outside with a scheduled routine. He has been partly getting the hang of pee pads. He needs a fenced in yard for his potty place. He's scared to go outside and doesn't understand leash walking. He can go into a home with another dog, but he isn't really interested in other dogs, he wants to cling to people instead. He will now jump on his person' calf to get their attention and get some love.. He wants to be close. Once he settles in she will follow you room to room to be close . Like all dogs, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Reno important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Reno is 1 year 9 months old and fully vetted. He has been neutered, heartworm negative, had a dental, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption fee is $1200..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Reno wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt only in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Reno, please fill out an application for his adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption. The first step in the process is to complete an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. We are an in home foster volunteer group. We are not a brick and mortar, There is no building to come and view dogs. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help Reno , please consider a donation for his food, housing, and veterinary care. Story
Teddy is a beautiful full breed Lhasa Apso. Ivehad him since he was 10 weeks old. I purchased him from a breeder. He has allergies and social anxiety but other than that he is healthy. He likes to go for walks, eat, rest and cuddle. He is very smart and sweet. He does not trust children so its not wise to have him around anyone under the age of 12. He is house trained, protective, and likes to be mentally stimulated or he gets bored. He needs to be groomed regularly. He is not very active and keeps to himself mostly. Im looking for someone older, patient, retired or works from home, and familiar with the breed. Teddy could live past 20 if taken care of properly. If you are looking for a buddy and you have the time and patience, maybe you should meet Teddy.

Story
Gizmo is a sweet and social 10 year old boy who is looking for a home that will give him lots of love and attention. He has never been violent, gets along with everyone, and loves to play and cuddle. Gizmo has severe separation anxiety, so we are looking for owners who work from home most of the week, has another dog/cat who will play with him and are familiar with dogs who have anxiety. We also want to keep a relationship with his new owners, so we can visit him throughout the rest of his life.

Story
Genevieve is a girl who was burdened with a rough start in life. She was removed from an unsanitary hoarding environment with 4 other dogs who were all matted, terrified, unsocialized, and in overall terrible condition. Since joining the CRA family, the rest of the dogs she arrived with have all been adopted and are thriving in forever-families, but Gen is still waiting. She is hesitant when meeting new people and her uncertainty makes it hard to immediately see the huge personality hiding beneath the surface. Once she bonds with someone, she is loyal, full of love and energy, and downright comical. She bounces like a bunny, prancing around your feet and smiling like a goofball. She is generally not big on constant touch, but she wants to be near her person whenever she can and she is a master splooter. She had no foundational skills when she came to us, but has come a long way with potty training and is comfortable in a crate. She has made many dog friends during her time with us, but she lacks confidence when initially meeting friends and can be a little... dramatic when she's not sure what a dogs intentions are toward her. We have not seen her interact with cats, but it can be expected that she would be similarly dramatic about meeting cats as well. Gen is being fostered currently in Chicago and has an open adoption radius. This means that she is accepting adoption applications outside of our typical radius, however, the adopter has to travel to Chicago to meet and finalize the adoption. Gen's adoption fee includes her spay, up to date vaccines and prevention (flea, tick and heart worm), heart worm negative, and microchip. If you are interested in being considered a forever home for her, please apply directly.
