Story
If you’re craving something warm, sweet, and full of comfort this season, Pumpkin Pie is the perfect little treat. Named for everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving dessert, she’s just as irresistible—soft, cozy, and guaranteed to bring joy to your home. She shows love in every possible way: snuggling into your arms, giving gentle kisses, curling up at your feet, or following you everywhere like the cutest shadow you’ve ever baked—I mean met.Pumpkin Pie loves being part of everything you do. Cooking dinner? She’s there. Cleaning? She’s supervising. Quick bathroom trip? She’ll walk you there herself. Outside time is a shared event too—she prefers her humans accompany her for potty breaks and fetch sessions. She rarely barks, only chiming in when loud, unfamiliar noises pop up, bravely “protecting” you from all things spooky. She’s an easygoing little darling who gets along with kids and dogs of all ages, loves being held, enjoys belly rubs, and snuggles like it’s her full-time job. House-training is going well, she settles into her crate, walks nicely on a harness, and naps wherever it’s cozy—couch, dog bed, blanket, or right beside you. Her only quirks? Cute little sneeze fits and nibbling her feet like they’re a snack.Just like a perfect holiday pie, Pumpkin Pie is warm, comforting, and loved by all. If you’re searching for the sweetest companion to make life feel a little more like Thanksgiving every day, your Pumpkin Pie is ready to be served. Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Benny is a 7½-pound Terrier/Yorkie mix who came from a backyard breeder situation (along with his sister, Bitsy) and is just beginning to learn what it feels like to be safe and loved. Right now, she’s a little timid, but with time, patience, and gentle encouragement, he starts to warm up to adults, kids, and most other dogs. He’s learning the basics of leash walking and is making progress with housebreaking. Benny reliably uses puppy pads and is starting to understand outdoor potty routines. He can be left alone for 2–4 hours, making him a good fit for someone with a flexible but not constant schedule.Benny isn’t interested in toys just yet and currently has low energy, but he enjoys running in the backyard when he feels comfortable. A fenced yard is a plus but not required. After everything he’s been through, Benny needs a calm, loving home with someone who understands that trust takes time. With patience, kindness, and a gentle routine, he will blossom into a loyal, tender companion who will appreciate love more deeply than most.If you’re looking for a little dog with a soft spirit and a huge capacity for connection, Benny is waiting. This is a Pay It Forward dog. This means the adoption donation of $450 will help to save another pup needing rescue and vetting. Story
Coco Latte is as unique as her name — complete with a charming underbite and a spunky personality. Coco Latte is looking for a tender, understanding home that appreciates a dog with true character. She’s fun and full of love, but she’s also a strong lady who likes to choose her friends. She can be a bit of a gremlin when meeting new people — no direct eye contact or reaching for her until she’s decided you’re worthy. Once you’re in her inner circle, expect the best wiggly-butt greeting when you come home, sweet kisses, snuggles, and moments that will make you laugh out loud. She adores playing with other dogs, going for walks, and having canine companions around is definitely a bonus. Coco Latte can be slow to warm up to new people, but with patience, her sweet, silly side shines through. She’ll do best in a quieter home, ideally with older kids (if any) and another friendly dog to keep her company. If you’re ready to love a dog who knows who she is, and will love you fiercely once you’ve earned her trust, Coco Latte might just be your match.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Story
This handsome little fella is Gizmo, a 3-4 year old, 16 pound, Yorkshire Terrier mix who came to our rescue as a stray a couple months ago. Gizmo is a super sweet, super friendly, and sensitive little dog. He loves kids and enjoys running and playing with them. Gizmo does better having a fenced yard where he can run and play safely; he does walk nicely on a leash too for those daily walks. Gizmo is completely housebroken.  Gizmo has some separation anxiety so we are seeking adopters who are home most of the day. In addition, there must be another smaller dog in the adoptive home to keep him company because it helps him feel safe and less alone. Gizmo does not do well in a crate; he is not destructive in the home but will bark and drool if crated alone. He really is a super great little dog.  This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS should be requested from  acaringplace@comcast.netA Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     December 8, 2025, 4:21 am
