Story
What’s not to love about this little guy? Meet Duke, a 7lb, 13-year-old Yorkie. He found himself at a shelter when his owner had to go into assisted living. The shelter knew that was no place for this tiny dog. Duke came to us looking pretty rough. He weighed only 5 ½ pounds, his hair was sparse and oily, and his eyes and nose were nearly crusted shut. Our vet diagnosed him with a condition called neurogenic dry eye, causing not only his eyes to dry out but his nose too. The medication our vet prescribed did the trick! Duke has gained weight and is feeling and looking good! Duke's eyesight and hearing are a little limited but he gets around just fine. He can be a little wary of strangers and needs to take it slow, possibly due to his limited eyesight. But a couple of yummy treats convinces him that you're his best friend. Will you open your heart and home for this special little guy? FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD.

Story
** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. Arrow is a spry little man who is so ready for a loving family and oodles of TLC. Arrow arrived as a hungry stray, and it was clear this very good boy had been neglected. He needed medical care and time, and he is now super ready to be someone's beloved pet. Arrow is a fun pup who is eager to engage. He so enjoys being with us and getting yummy treats. He will need adopters that are OK with giving him eye drops as his eyes are dry (a classic thing many little dogs get) and he will need other older dog issue care going forward, but the adoptions staff can tell you all about that. And he needs to go to a professional doggie beauty salon for periodic grooming. No doggie wants matting- they hurt! So, ready for a delightful pup companion to make you smile? Arrow is hoping you want to meet him soon!
