You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well can I just say I LOVE the ranch!!  My last house had 148 dogs and it was REALLY nasty!!!  The authorities finally came and got us all!!  Here at the ranch I get spa days and the food is real good and we have a huge field to play in!!  My best friend is Layla.  She is really scared so I stay close to her so she feels safe and hopefully at some point she will start to trust humans again.  The volunteers are really nice.  They hold us and talk to us and its VERY different from what we were used to!  Mom says she is going to attach some pics of where we lived but I am happy to forget all about that and enjoy life.REQUIREMENTS to adopt GiGiMUST HAVE ANOTHER SMALL DOGMUST HAVE A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!January 27, 2025, 12:33 am

Story
NAME: Darcy BREED: Yorkie/Poodle Mix BIRTHDAY: 2016 WEIGHT: 20lbs ADOPTION FEE: $150 (Darcy and Nella are bonded and must be adopted together!) &#226&#128&#139 Darcy and Nella came to us from a breeder who was closing her doors. She had surrendered her other dogs to different rescues and said she was going to keep Darcy and Nella as her personal pets. Imagine the surprise of the rescuers who helped her when they saw the girls posted on a "free to a good home" site! We were immediately contacted and we happily agreed to take the girls, and thankfully they were able to get to us before being given away to someone who may not have been able to care for them properly (or keep them together). &#226&#128&#139 In foster care, Darcy and Nella have been very sweet and easy. They get along well with dogs of all sizes and are very polite with cats. Nella has had a few accidents but in general they seem house trained, they are happy to take walks or go to new places, and they are friendly with new people after a couple minutes of warming up. Our groomer said they were both very well behaved for their spa day, and now they look as lovely on the outside as they are inside! This is a truly wonderful pair who will be a blessing to their forever family! &#226&#128&#139 *Both girls came to us a little itchy, which could be a result of a poor diet or other external factors. To help them be comfortable, we got a Cytopoint injection for Darcy and are giving Nella Apoquel. Hopefully they will not need medications long term, but it should be something an adopter is prepared for. Please note that these girls are bonded and MUST be adopted together!  February 17, 2025, 6:28 pm

Story
Charlie came to FARM in need of a forever home. "My name is Charlie. I'm a 7 year old, 8 pound, neutered male Yorkie/Bichon mix. I love to go for walks but, since I'm a very active boy with lots of energy, I am hoping my new home will have a yard where I can run and do zoomies. I'm also very social and get along great with other dogs and cats, so a dog or cat friend would also be nice. Although I think I'm perfect, I've been told I need work on my housebreaking skills and an experienced owner would be best for me." Meet and greets for approved adopters will be by appointment. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a dog application which can be found at http://fallstonanimalrescue.org/adopt/ and e-mail it to fallstonrescue@aol.com.

Story
Sassy is a 7 year old, 10 lb., spayed female Shitzu mix who loves to go for walks; play with her toys; and sit in your lap. She seems to do well with cats but can exhibit dominant behavior towards some other dogs. Sassy needs a home with an experienced owner wh is willing to work with her alpha personality and her housebreaking skills. (She is not appropriate for a home with children.) Sassy is a smart, adorable girl who just needs the right home. Meet and greets for approved adopters will be by appointment. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a dog application which can be found at http://fallstonanimalrescue.org/adopt/ and e-mail it to fallstonrescue@aol.com.
