Story
Luna is a very relaxed dog. She does get little burst of energy but they quickly go away after a few minutes of play. She is very much a lap dog. She is around 9-10 years old and has a bad back leg that she will sometimes use and sometimes not, it's not something that is bothered if you touch it or move it. I acquired her through a previous marriage and have held onto her after the fact. Now with a new family starting I do not have the time between work and the soon to be two kids to make sure that she gets the attention she deserves. The biggest thing is making sure that she gets out of the house often since she seems to have the smallest bladder a dog can have, which leads to mistakes in the house. She has been using puppy pads effectively, however, sometimes some accidents do get off of the pad. She really is a great dog and while I wish that I could keep her I know that there is someone out there that has more free time and can give her the attention that she deserves.

Story
Percy is such a cute little man! He is estimated to be about 6 years old and weighs 13 pounds. He will have much nicer pictures coming soon. This sweet, friendly guy is on the lookout for a forever home where he can settle in and receive all the love he deserves. Percy loves to be with you and is going to make such a wonderful best friend, maybe a nice little walk, then cuddle time watching some TV or reading a good book. He is just a darling, so if you are looking to add some cheer and joy to your life, please come and meet him! He would probably do best in a quiet, more predictable type home with no small children due to his size. If you are interested in Percy and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Roxie~born~May 2013Special BreedI'm a diva. THERE! I SAID it!! And I'm proud of it! And I will LET you KNOW it! AND I will NOT STOP NAGGING you until I get what I WANT!! And I MEAN IT!! (My foster mom used to squirt water at me to "bring me out of it", as she puts it, but now she just shows me the bottle, and I stop.)She squirted WATER at me!! Like I'm a CAT!! There's a few of those here. I've let them know how I feel about THEM! Stupid things. When I got here, boy, I was MAD!!! For a whole WEEK I was mad! So mad that my foster mom gave me my OWN bedroom, with a screen door on it so I could get use to the other critters. Every time she came near me, I'd try to chew off her TOES!! She had to keep a leash on me so she could get me outside. And she had to pick it up QUICKLY, because I'd try to BITE her. But she's really kind. And I was getting lonely, so I asked her politely if I could come out of my room and have her hold me. And, of course, she said yes (but she was a bit scared). She still kept my leash on me, just in case, but one morning she took a chance and QUICKLY unbuckled it. And I didn't try to bite her.I'm from Florida. Oh, FLORIDA!! Where it's ALWAYS warm...and sunny...not like Michigan, where it's been cold and grey and rainy. I had a great life with my mom in Florida, but she died, so I went to live with her granddaughter here in Michigan. But she couldn't give me the life she felt I deserved, so she was brave and gave me to PAAW so I could find another home. And I was SO MAD!!!It's nice here at my foster home. I made some friends (but there's another girl dog here that I don't like, so I start fights with her). AND...I have a boyfriend! ooOOoo!! He's a Yorkie. Like me. I still have my own bedroom . (Sometimes he comes in my bedroom with me, hee hee hee.) My foster mom tried moving my crate and my soft bed (it's my very own, the one I had when I moved here) out of the bedroom, but I didn't like it. So she moved me back into the bedroom. When I want to go there, I ask her politely (I can be NICE when I want to), and she lets me in. Sometimes I go in because I'm tired. Sometimes because I want to be alone. And sometimes because I'm in a BAD MOOD. And then I SULK! With my BACK to the DOOR! Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, she sings my name to me over and over. And it calms me.I'm 10 years old. I don't know my birthdate. I've had babies (cuz I've got boobies!). I got spayed on Friday (May 5). They looked at my teeth when I was sleeping and said that I need dental work done. They also said that I have a mammary mass, so I guess I'm going to have another vet visit.I have this habit of having little puddles of pee come out of me. My foster mom thinks I don't always have control. She thinks it just kind of comes out. She had me wear diapers for a while, really CUTE ones from Amazon, but I decided that I didn't want to wear them anymore, so now I try to BITE her when she tries to put them on. I do ask to go outside; I'm good with that.My foster mom knows I want a lot of love, and that I have a lot of love to give, and she thinks I might be OK having a brother, but I don't like having sisters. My foster mom thinks I'm just jealous. I LOVE it when she picks me up and cradles me in her arm and "tickles" my belly. I LOVE looking her in her eyes when she does that. And then I close my eyes and just enjoy the "tickling".I'm up-to-date on all of my vaccines, and I'm heartworm negative, and I'm microchipped. If I'm too much of a diva for you, do you know of someone else? My foster mom says that I'm really loving, when I'm not being a diva or in a bad mood. Oh, and I have some mats that are bugging me. But I'll get a haircut when I'm sleeping during my dentist appointment._____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org

Story
Meet Lucky an apprx 8 week old male Yorki shitzu chihuhua mix. He is so lucky to be alive. We got him and his three siblings when they were two week old orphans. They were turned in by a breeder at the age of one and a half weeks old and that's when we stepped in. After sleepless nights and over five thosand dollars in vet bills and associated costs, he is the only survivor! He was the biggest of the litter and did not have health issues himself though he was monitored closely while his sibings were in incubators. He is healthy and spunky and full of love. There are no known health issues nor any kind of continued costs to the adopter. He thinks he is a human since his mama is a human who bottlefed him daily. His adoption fee will help the rescue pay for about half the vet bills that this litter acquired. If interested please email us at 4kindnessanimalrescue@gmail.com and please include your phone number so we can talk to you. We want a very special wonderful home for him. We know this is not for everyone with his adoption fee and we then wish you the best of luck on your puppy search. Thank you.

We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET CAMILA: Camila is an adorable 5-year-old Shorkie (Schnauzer and Yorkie mix) who has captured the hearts of everyone at the shelter. This petite pup, weighing just 7 pounds, was found as a stray on the streets of Detroit. Despite her difficult start in life, Camila has shown incredible resilience and is now ready to find her forever home. When Camila first arrived at the rescue, she was very fearful and hesitant around new faces. She would often piddle out of submission when approached, but with patience and love, she has made great strides in overcoming her fears. Once she feels comfortable, Camila bonds quickly with people she wants to have in her circle of trust. Seeing her open up and trust again is truly heartwarming, however she could win awards for her "RBF" (jk)! Although Camila has done well with other dogs that respect her personal space, she is not thrilled with excessive puppy energy. She prefers the company of calmer, more mature dogs. She has shown no interest in cats, making her a great candidate for a mixed household. This intelligent girl is not only crate trained but also has a good understanding of house manners. She is currently working on improving her leash skills, but with some patience and training, she will surely be walking like a pro in no time. It's important to note that Camila can be vocal, so she may not be the best fit for a tightly-knit community. Considering Camila's initial trust issues, she would be best suited for a home with older children who can understand and respect her boundaries. Loud noises and sudden movements can easily startle her, so a calm and quiet environment would be ideal. As Camila continues to progress, she is learning to play with toys—an exciting milestone for her. She absolutely adores spending time with her people, and she will make every effort to be by your side. Camila's new family will need to provide her with minimal grooming to keep her looking her best. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, look no further than Camila. Her journey from a fearful stray to a brave survivor is nothing short of inspiring. Adopting Camila means giving her the chance to experience the unconditional love she so deserves. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET SUNNY:   Hello, everyone! My name is Sunny, and I am a 1 1/2-year-old pup who is eagerly searching for my forever family. Just like my sister Luna, I was discovered abandoned in a crate on a dead-end street. It was a tough start for us, but we are both working hard to overcome our trauma-related fears. I weigh around 7 lbs and, like Luna, we have no idea about our past. However, I'm a bit different when it comes to my preferences. While I love my sister dearly, I would prefer to be the only dog in the home if not adopted with Luna. It's not because I don't like other dogs, I can just be a tad bossy and most take it the wrong way. I do get along well with cats, though, so having feline friends would definitely be a plus! Since I have some fear issues, I can be a bit of a barker at times. Because of this, it would be best if my forever home is not an apartment, condo, or mobile home where noise might be an issue. Additionally, I think I would thrive best as the only child in the home, so a family without young children would be ideal. I'm crate trained and can stay comfortably in my crate when needed. I absolutely love playing outside and would enjoy having a fenced yard where I can roam and explore safely. Patience is key when it comes to winning my trust. Once I feel comfortable around you, I become a cuddle bug and will shower you with affection. I'm ready to find my forever family, someone who will understand and appreciate the progress I've made so far and continue to support me on this journey. If you're interested in giving me a loving home where I can blossom, please reach out. I can't wait to meet you and start our exciting new chapter together.
