MEET ME ON SATURDAY, JULY 27, FROM NOON-4PM AT OAT SODA IN LAKE ORION FOR “PAWS & PINTS ADOPTION EVENT AND FUNDRAISER”!197 S Broadway St, Lake Orion, MI 48362
Name: Don Julio
Breed: YorkieAge: Adult (5-7 years old)Weight: 7lbs
Background: These adorable Yorkies were previously part of a large breeder operation, where they were used for breeding purposes. Due to an unexpected medical issue, the "greeder" was forced to surrender all the dogs, including these sweethearts.
Health: They are currently being treated for ear infections and dental disease, which will be completed prior to adoption is finalized. All the dogs are scheduled for sterilization surgery and dental cleanings/extractions to ensure their overall health and well-being.
Personality: These Yorkies are social and friendly, but they have been focused on breeding their entire lives. They may be hesitant and shy initially, but they warm up quickly. They make great lap dogs and enjoy human interaction. They are good with other dogs and get along well with cats.
Household Requirements:
Potty Training: They are pad-trained, not house-trained. They will require a patient family to help them adjust to new potty habits.
Leash Walking: They are not accustomed to walking on a leash and will require some time to adjust. They may not potty on a leash or walk very far.
Containment: Due to their lack of leash training, they will need some physical means of containment to prevent them from wandering off or getting into trouble.
Grooming: Regular grooming is essential to keep their coats clean and healthy.
Stairs: They are not accustomed to navigating stairs, so they will need to be monitored around steps or carried to/from.
Furniture: They are not used to being on furniture, so they will need a family that ensures their safety
Children: Older children (ages 8+ recommended) would be best suited for these tiny, gentle dogs.
Surroundings: Due to their petite size, they may require a family that is aware of their surroundings to ensure that they are not stepped on as they can be tripping hazards.
Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family with a stable routine is essential for these lovable Yorkies. With consistent training, socialization, and plenty of love, they will thrive in their new forever home. These sweet Yorkies are ready to go home with their new families, but will remain in foster-to-adopt status until their spay/neuter and dental surgery has been completed at one of our partner Veterinary office in Chesterfield, which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable.
If you're ready to open your heart and home to one of these sweet Yorkies, please contact us to learn more about the adoption process!
