We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Story
Meet Biscuit! Biscuit is an adorable little 4 year old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He was surrendered after his owner fell on hard times and could no longer provide the care he deserves. Now Biscuit is ready for a fresh start with a family who will love him furever. This sweet boy is happiest when he’s with his people—whether that means cuddling on the couch, giving kisses, or just hanging out nearby soaking up attention. Biscuit is affectionate, loyal, and thrives on companionship. One of Biscuit’s favorite things is zooming around the yard in happy little circles, so a fenced yard would be best for him to safely burn off energy and enjoy his playful side. In the winter, he’s known for his hilarious love of eating snow, and he even grows a thick fluffy coat to stay cozy during the colder months! Biscuit has lived successfully with other dogs and cats, and he has also been around dog-savvy children. He’s crate trained, has great house manners, and would transition nicely into a loving home environment. If you're looking for a small dog with a huge heart who will shower you with affection, Biscuit may be your perfect match. Biscuit is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeuteredADOPTION FEE: $375 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. Story
Meet Gracie – A Gentle Soul Seeking a Quiet, Loving Home Age: 6 years old  Size: 8 lbs  Breed: Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix   Gracie was sadly surrendered by her family when they fell on hard times. She is now ready to find a new home where she can feel safe, cherished, and loved for the rest of her life. Gracie is a sweet and affectionate companion who bonds deeply with her people. Though she can be shy and timid at first, she blossoms into a loving and loyal friend once she feels secure. She adores cuddling and will happily curl up beside you for quiet moments together. Gracie does best when she receives plenty of one-on-one attention and can sometimes show a bit of jealousy if another dog interferes with her special time with you. Gracie previously lived with three other dogs and cats, but she would truly thrive in a quieter home without feline friends. She can be a bit too pushy with cats when it comes to sharing space, so a cat-free environment is recommended for her comfort and theirs. She may do best as the only fur-child or with a very calm, respectful canine companion. Gracie is looking for a quiet, mature adult home where she can enjoy a peaceful lifestyle. She has not had much experience with leash walking, so a home with a securely fenced yard would be necessary for her to safely explore and enjoy the outdoors. Inside, she is already crate trained and demonstrates a good understanding of house manners, making her an easy addition to a calm household. Gracie’s ideal family will be patient as she adjusts to her new surroundings and will provide her with the gentle reassurance she needs to feel at home. She will thrive with consistent routine, plenty of affection, and a peaceful environment where she can be the center of attention. Gracie is ready to give all her love to a family who will cherish her gentle spirit and provide her with the safe, quiet, and loving home she deserves. In return, she offers unwavering loyalty, cozy cuddles, and a heart full of devotion. If you are looking for a sweet, low-key companion to share your quiet moments with, Gracie may be the perfect match for you. Story
Coco is a survivor with so much love left to give. She was found faithfully lying beside her owner three days after he passed away. After spending a frightening night in a local shelter, she made her way into one of our foster homes, where she has been decompressing and learning that she is safe again. Our rescue specializes in helping terminally ill people make sure their beloved pets are cared for both during their illness and after they pass. Coco is one of those very special dogs. Because of a heart murmur and pulmonary hypertension, Coco bravely underwent anesthesia for a much-needed dental surgery. Now on heart medication (about $30/month) and finally feeling better, she is bouncing back beautifully and is ready for her forever family. Coco will need an adopter who can commit to her daily medication, routine veterinary care, and regular grooming. She’s currently living with a small dog. She started off a little sassy but quickly settled into a respectful routine, so we think she could live with another dog her size. We don’t yet know how she would do with larger dogs or cats. Truth be told, Coco is used to being the queen of the castle and would love to be the center of attention. What her foster mom wants you to know: Sweet, loving, and very well mannered Perfectly house-trained — not a single accident despite major life changes Takes her medication easily with treats Great mobility, including stairs Welcomes visitors and does well at the vet Will absolutely want to be on the furniture and would love to sleep with her person Coco is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, has had full bloodwork, an echocardiogram, and her dental. She is 10 years old and 13 pounds. She has survived heartbreaking loss, surgery, and huge changes in her world. Now she just needs someone to love her for the rest of her life. If you are interested, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application available at https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/ (scroll to the bottom for the app)

Story
Armani is a 9-year-old Yorkie Terrier who proved every day that the smallest dogs often have the biggest personalities. The moment he hears the word treat, his ears would pop straight up like tiny antennas, ready for action. Treats are serious business, and Armani never misses a chance to remind you of that. He is fiercely loyal and loves being close, especially when it comes to cuddling. Belly rubs are his favorite—under no circumstances are they optional—and once he settles in, a nap is sure to follow. Armani is a professional napper with a heart of gold. He loves rolling around in the grass and snow, soaking up every bit of joy the outdoors has to offer. His bark has been little, but it is bold, confident, and impossible to ignore.
