Story
Chewy is a sweet and affectionate dog. He’s potty and kennel trained. Loves to fetch, snuggle, and go out on walks. He grew up with a companion dog (Obi, maltipoo), also on here, but couldn’t make one profile for both dogs. It would be nice to have them go to a loving home together, but having them each go to loving homes would be best.

Story
🐾 Meet Hotch – 13-Year-Old Yorkie/Shih Tzu Mix 🐾 Hotch is a sweet senior boy who is settling into foster life and showing his gentle personality more each day. ❤️ Very loving and enjoys being close to his people 🐕 Has done well with other dogs indoors (may bark at some dogs on walks) 🚶 Enjoys walks and exploring the outdoors 🪟 Loves watching the world from the window 🚗 Great in the car and enjoys outings Hotch is still adjusting and working through a few things. He can become anxious when left alone and does best in a home where someone is around often. He also may bark at passersby and is learning calmer window manners. 🍽️ Sometimes needs encouragement to eat (hand-feeding helps) 👁️ Does not produce tears and will require lifelong eye drops, which he handles very well 🧠 Not highly food-motivated, but responds well to patience and routine Hotch is a gentle, loyal little companion who just wants to be near his people and feel secure. He would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can be a constant little shadow. ❤️🐾 Apply today: https://www.underdogrescueranch.com/adopt

Breed: Yorkie mixSex: Neutered MaleDOB: ~01/02/2025Weight: ~15 lbsEnergy Level: Low-MediumPersonality Type: Wallflower, Shy, Curious, HomebodyHistory: Owner SurrenderIdeal Home: Calm home with another dog to show him the ropes. No apartments.Fence Requirements: Required.Special Info: Dustin came to us from a hoarding situation. He is very undersocialized. While he does get comfortable, follow you around, and do tricks for treats, he is not a fan of being touched except on his own terms. He will need a patient family who is not looking for a dog who wants to cuddle or sit in their laps all the time. He may never be the dog that goes for walks or rides in the car. He just needs a place where he can feel safe.DOG APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26CAT APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41EXOTICS APPLICATION: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46The information we are providing for this animal was developed based on observations and assessments in a shelter or foster environment. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Cricket`s story is one that breaks your heart—but we`re hoping it ends with the happy ending she deserves. This tiny 5-year-old girl weighs just 6 pounds and was found wandering the streets alone, frightened, neglected, and covered in painful mats. She was brought to animal control, where she waited and hoped that someone would come looking for her. Sadly, no one ever did.Despite everything she`s been through, Cricket has remained incredibly sweet and loving. After receiving a much-needed bath, grooming, veterinary care, and becoming up to date on all of her vaccinations, her true personality has begun to shine. She is a gentle, affectionate little companion who simply wants to be close to her people. Whether you`re relaxing on the couch or moving about the house, Cricket is happiest when she`s by your side.Cricket has met other small dogs and has done very well with them. We believe she may also do fine with cats, provided slow and proper introductions are made. Because of her tiny size and gentle nature, any children in the home should be over the age of five and respectful of small dogs.Cricket has known what it feels like to be forgotten. Now she`s looking for someone who will show her what it means to be cherished. Could you be the person who gives this little girl the love, safety, and forever home she`s been waiting for?If you`re looking for a devoted companion with a heart full of love, Cricket is ready to meet you.If you are interested in meeting Cricket or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, they are open M-F from 10am-4pm.Adoption fee: $300
