Story
Sophie is a sweet 5 yr old, 9 lb Yorkshire Terrier who came to us as a “breeder” release dog which means she had never lived in a home as someone’s beloved family member. Sophie’s foster mother says Sophie has the most beautiful Yorkie face. She is an absolute sweetheart, with an angelic nature. She loves attention and gets so excited when you just talk to her and call out her name. She loves to snuggle next to you in bed or lap. She'll go to sleep being petted in your lap, and if you stop, she'll gently paw you to continue. Sophie is so quiet that you don't even know she's around. We haven't even heard her bark yet.  Sophie is working on her housetraining and will use a pee pad if available. Her new home will need to continue her potty training. She has not figured out steps yet, so she would do best in a home and yard where there are few or no steps. Sophie could be an only dog or with another dog under 15 pounds, which is our preference. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT.  No exceptions.  We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee:  $500July 24, 2024, 4:40 am

Story
Cassidy is a sweet 7 yr old, 6 lb Yorkshire Terrier.  Cassidy was a shelter rescue, so we don’t know much about her background. She can be somewhat hesitant when meeting new people but warms up fairly quickly. Toys and a dog bed seem to be new for her, but she is loving and enjoys the attention of her foster family. Cassidy follows her foster mom everywhere and loves to be on the sofa beside her. She can be quick around doorways, so her new family needs to be vigilant. Cassidy is still working on housetraining, so she needs someone patient and willing to take her out regularly as she continues learning. She just started leash training. Cassidy could be an only dog or have another dog under 10 pounds in the home. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, attached to the home and accessible from a usable house door.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio, deck or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) they need to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. Kingsley is 13 years old. He loves to be outdoors when I do yard work. He loves everybody. He’s never met a stranger. He likes to sleep/snuggle up against me. He is not a fan of thunderstorms. He wears a thunder shirt wrap to help. He is house trained but due to his age he wears diapers when I leave the house. He doesn’t need them when I’m home. He will let me know when he needs to go outside.

Story
Maya is a 1-year-old Maltipoo who weighs 7 lb. Maya is a happy and active little girl. She could be an only dog or have another dog in the home who is under 15 lbs. Maya would do best with someone who can match her energy level and enjoys daily walks. She is doing great with house, crate and leash training, but she will need someone patient who can continue working with her to be successful. Maya is quick and can get under your feet easily, which could be a tripping hazard for those with balance issues. Maya enjoys playing with toys and can keep herself entertained, at the same time, she is still very much a pup and will chew on rugs and electrical cords if they strike her fancy; however, Maya is easily redirected.  She is smart and very trainable and would be a joy for someone who wants to teach a dog tricks. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1.5 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard.
