Story
Simon is an itty-bitty 1 ½ yr old, 4 lb, Yorkshire Terrier who came to us as a “breeder” release dog which means she had never lived in a home as someone’s beloved family member. Simon’s foster mother says he was initially shy but warmed up quickly. He is affectionate and appreciative. Simon likes to snuggle up close to his person in bed and gets along well with the other small dogs in his foster home. He is learning leash training and has a way to go on housetraining. He has not figured out steps yet, so he would do best in a home and yard where there are few or no steps. Simon could be an only dog or have another tiny dog, under 8 lbs, which is our preference. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1 1/4 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500June 10, 2024, 11:16 pm

Story
Skye is an 8–9 yr old Yorkie, who weighs 5 lbs.  Skye is happy, super friendly, and gets along well with other dogs her size. She loves her person and will follow them around the house. Skye is a curious little pup who wants to be right with you to see what is happening. She can be very quick around doors, so whoever adopts her needs to be vigilant and know where Skye is whenever a door is opened. She can easily get underfoot, so she may not be a good fit with those with balance issues. Skye is a talker. She will alert you when she hears something or needs some attention. She loves for you to talk to her, and she will respond back with a little bark. Skye enjoys snuggling up with her person and watching television. She has a very loving personality and will make someone very happy. Skye is doing well with house training but hasn’t quite figured out how to let her person know she needs to go out. She likes to search the yard for the perfect spot, so she needs a little extra time to find it. Skye is very food and treat-motivated so this helps with training. She occasionally use a pee pad if available. She is still working on leash training. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO YOUNG CHILDREN) WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1.5 inches and attached to the home. Story
Meet June, the tiny but mighty spunky 5-year-old pup! June had a rough start to her time with us, with completely matted hair, but it turns out this 3 lb little gal is a feisty, loyal companion who will be by your side every step of the way. This tiny girl will love to follow you around, making sure you're never alone. She finds comfort and joy in her crate, especially when it's filled with snacks, toys and cozy blankets to burrow under. June is cat-friendly and can live with a dog who respects her alpha status, although would prefer to be the only dog. She would do fine with a very slow introduction though. When she's not busy following you around the house, she is a dedicated snuggler and will shower you with kisses. If you're looking for a spirited, affectionate, and loyal companion, June is the perfect pup for you!

These pups are in Greensboro, North Carolina too!

Story
Maya is a 1-year-old Maltipoo who weighs 7 lb. Maya is a happy and active little girl. She could be an only dog or have another dog in the home who is under 15 lbs. Maya would do best with someone who can match her energy level and enjoys daily walks. She is doing great with house, crate and leash training, but she will need someone patient who can continue working with her to be successful. Maya is quick and can get under your feet easily, which could be a tripping hazard for those with balance issues. Maya enjoys playing with toys and can keep herself entertained, at the same time, she is still very much a pup and will chew on rugs and electrical cords if they strike her fancy; however, Maya is easily redirected.  She is smart and very trainable and would be a joy for someone who wants to teach a dog tricks.
