Story
Rosie is a 3 yr old Yorkie-Maltese mix who weighs around 10 lbs. She came to us from a hoarding/breeding situation in a home with 29 dogs.  Despite coming from a hoarding home Rosie is surprisingly friendly.  She enjoys having toys to play with and gets along nicely with other small dogs and she would like to have another small doggie companion in her adoptive home.  Rosie is crate-trained and is learning house training quickly; however, she will need someone with patience to ensure her continued success. Rosie is just starting leash walking.  We are requiring a securely fenced yard for Rosie so she can have the opportunity to play safely supervised in her own yard, a fenced yard helps with housetraining and most importantly it is an added layer of safety because Rosie is quick!  Rosie’s hair requires regular combing as it is not the fine type that mats easily; however, her hair grows fast, so her adopter needs to be up for frequent grooming.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500February 23, 2025, 12:58 am

Story
She is an 8-10lb Yorkie, she is hyper active and a needs someone who has the time for her. She does not get a long with our cat whom I’ve had for 5 years. I’ve tried my hardest to get them to get along but our cat is annoyed with her hyper puppy behavior. She was a gift to me and my children in 11/2024 and we adore her. Missy was born 10/2024. She’s up to date on all shots and gets groomed regularly.

Story
Nick is a happy 1-2 yr old Maltese mix who weighs about 11 lbs. Nick is playful and fun but is not hyper.  He does love to race around the backyard for a few minutes each day.  He is good at entertaining himself in the house but also would let you throw a toy for him for as long as you are willing.  Nick sleeps very well in his crate overnight.  He would enjoy another small dog who likes to play gently but would probably be too much for a senior dog.  He is good for baths and grooming and has such an all-around nice demeanor.  He is very fast around doorways, so he is best suited for a home where his family can use barriers to block him from open doorways. He is not a dog for a senior citizen.   Nick is crate-trained and doing well on house training but not completely house-trained. He squats when he pees, so he is a young dog and not a "marker." Nick could be an only dog or have another dog under 15 pounds in the home.
