Story
Meet sweet Lulu, a 9 year old, 7 pound little Yorkie girl being fostered in Leander, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Pupdate 11/20/2025 Miss Lulu is still looking for her furever home, do you have it in your heart to take her into your loving home in time for the holidays? If so please contact us Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving. Pup-date 5/18/25: Little miss Lulu has settled right in at her foster home. She loves her own comfy area and bed. She lays watching all the happenings around the house and especially what her two resident foster siblings are up to. She loves being in the company of her foster parents and can be vocal when she wants their attention. She loves going outside to run the yard and also do her business. She has settled into a routine with consistent wake and bed times. She will let you know when she needs to go outside to potty and/or just explore. She loves to run the fence line and soak up some fresh air. Lulu still loves her meal times and is warming up to more and more human affection every day. Lulu really enjoys following her foster sister around outside and will be best with at least one or more pups in the house. She is sweet, loving, and super cute. Lulu has not met a stranger and really loves all people and animals she has come across. She does well on a leash, and really enjoys just being outside. Lulu needs a home where she will receive nothing but love and patience as she continues to blossom into a normal dog. Lulu's ideal home will be one with other small pups in the house and someone who is home with her most of the day. If you are looking for that one of a kind addition to you home, please contact her foster parents at uyryorkielovetx@yahoo.com or fill out an application using the link below this bio. Meet Lulu, a precious 7.3lb, 9 year old little girl looking for her perfect forever home. Lulu came to UYR about a week ago surrendered from a life of breeding. Although she was a little producer, it is evident she was cared for and loved. She came with some teeth decay and a UTI, but all her blood work appears to be good and she is scheduled for a spay and dental next week. She will likely lose the remaining teeth she has, which is not many. She already has the oh so cute tongue hanging out of her mouth look that just melts your heart for the first look. While we are still learning all there is to know about Lulu, we have noticed that she does lie human attention, likes to snuggle next to you on the couch, is somewhat puppy pad and outside potty trained. She had some accidents in the first few days, but we believe that was due to her UTI. The past few days have been nothing but great potties on a pad or outside. She will bark and run around quickly when she needs to out side. She loves to run in the yard and sleeps well through the night. From what we can see so far, she will need to be in an adult home with someone around most of the time. She has plenty of love to give and is excited to start her journey in her new forever home. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an application using the link under her bio on the UYR website.

Story
Meet Luna, a very sweet 8 year old, 7 pound Yorkie female being fostered in Leander, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Oh my goodness, such a sad story for this precious little UNITED YORKIE RESCUE nugget, Luna. Luna is 8yrs old and 7lbs of pure sweetness. Her story is another one full of sadness. Luna was found on a country road by an amazing gentleman. He knew who the owner was, as she had been on the road in the past. When he brought her back to the owner, the owner told him she didn't want her, and that her medical needs were just too much and she couldn't afford her any longer. Luna had eye infections, her ears were closed shut with infections. Her fur was missing on her little feet, under her neck and belly from untreated bacteria and yeast infections, and a massive mammary tumor on her belly as well from being bred to death!! Typical breeder dump!! I'm so blessed to be her foster mom! We are currently on a lot of meds to kill the skin infection, and we are on schedule to have her surgeries and pathology for her tumor on Jan 13th! Luna got the best Christmas gift and her New Year will be one to celebrate!! She is receiving the best of LOVE and desperately needed medical care each day. We cannot do this without you, as you are our Rescue family and friends. We have a generous gift donation offer of up to $5000 and we're looking for a match. We hope that you might be able to help us reach that goal! I'll always continue to share her story as we get this baby all the care she needs. You can Zelle United Yorkie Rescue at uyrtreasurer@yahoo.com, or go to our website at www.uyr.us, and click on the donate button on the home page! We love you all and Luna is so blessed to have her best life ever. I tell you, she is absolutely so so sweet and she is loving this thing called love that she's getting daily!! We thank you in advance for your donation and please, get your application in too. She will be ready for your love, so apply now!

Story
Meet Sophie, an adorable 11 month old, 12 pound Yorkie Mix being fostered in Austin, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Update 1/6/26: A month after getting Sophie, she has proven to be a total love bug! And, my goodness, those ears! She is very energetic and loves to run around the yard. She is very playful with our dogs, and will even chase our 90lb dog around the yard; it is the cutest thing to watch! She also does great on car rides, and absolutely loves our kids. She is shy around new people, but with some patience, she warms up and the love you get from her is so rewarding. Sophie loves treats, so that has been a great way to help her get comfortable. Beware, if you sit down, you will have a dog in your lap. And if you get up, you will have a little white shadow following you wherever you go. Initial Bio 12/9/25: Sophie was shy and skittish when she first came to me, but spent most of the next day on my lap! She hasn't had any accidents in the house and slept in her kennel with no complaints. She's very friendly with my small dog and my daughter, and I'm sure the dogs will be playing in no time! She has also helped herself to the toy bin. She's very treat-motivated, and just in the short time I've had her, she's almost got sit (and wait for her turn) down. She's a sweet little dog!

Story
Banjo is a small dog with a HUGE personality! This little Yorkie mix is the definition of fun-loving and spirited. Banjo doesn't just walk into a room, he lights it up. He's funny, charming, and brings an infectious energy everywhere he goes. Life with Banjo is never boring! Banjo is an extroverted social butterfly who absolutely loves meeting new people and dogs. He's the friend who's always up for an adventure, always ready to make new buddies, and always the center of attention (and he knows it!). This little guy is fantastic on a leash and does wonderfully in public settings. Take Banjo to a dog-friendly patio, a park, or just around the neighborhood, and watch him work his magic. He's confident, well-mannered, and genuinely enjoys being out in the world. Banjo gets along great with other dogs and is friendly with people of all kinds. He's the perfect size for apartments or homes, and his outgoing personality makes him an ideal companion for someone who loves to be social and active. Here's what you need to know: Banjo is an expert escape artist. This clever little guy has skills that would make Houdini jealous! If there's a way out, Banjo will find it. This isn't a behavior problem, it's just Banjo being Banjo, adventurous and always curious about what's on the other side of that fence. • You'll need a highly secure, escape-proof yard (no gaps, no weak spots, no digging opportunities) OR you'll need to commit to only taking Banjo out on a leash for potty breaks and exercise • Regular yard checks to ensure there are no new escape routes • Extra vigilance when opening doors or gates • Understanding that Banjo's wanderlust is part of his adventurous spirit

Story
Meet Gina, a precious 8 year old, 9 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Kyle, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Pupdate: Miss Gina is doing well here. She is an absolute sweetheart and very well mannered in the house. She is finally able to be around my best friends dog, but it took several weeks of interaction. We, however feel that Gina will do best as the only pet in the home. She LOVES her daily walks. We walk 1-2 times a day, up to about 1/2-2/3 of a mile each time. Due to her never being socialized she does react to other animals and some people by barking, but her walks are the best way to introduce her to something she was not given. We do feel over time, she will know that this will be just a normal situation. Gina has also decided that the Halloween decor is not her friend too LOL!! If her furever family decides no walks, that's ok too, as long as she has a yard to play in! She loves to go out in the backyard and chase squirrels and lizards, so a home with a fenced yard is a priority. Inside she's super sweet. If I leave the large living area, she is right on my heels...all the way into the bathroom! She's so quiet inside that I hung some bells on her collar so that I know where she is! Gina loves to be petted and scratched and lays right next to you. Gina is learning everything about being with humans, you can tell she had such a sad life prior without much human interaction. At bedtime I let her snuggle in bed, then she leaves to go in her crate because she gets very anxious in the evenings. She has recently started some meds for that and is doing much better. She needs to be with someone who is home most of the day and can let her in and out as needed and give her the attention she never had growing up. She really is such a sweetheart! Gina is doing so well! She is spayed and had a dental cleaning and they had to remove 3 more teeth, but she still has most of her teeth. She has done amazingly well on a mostly carnivore diet here. Her hair has stopped falling out and she has gained some weight! She does have a little heart murmur that may require medication in the future. This girl LOVES her daily walks. She actually jumps and dances when it's time to go out, lol. She will initially bark (a lot) at new people, but after she's been allowed to sniff them, she loves them. She does well with older kids, but she hasn't been around any young ones. She is definitely an alpha female and it appears that she had to fight for everything where she came from. I believe she may have been abused. She only barks when there are new people or other animals in her sight. She does not care for other dogs and will need to be an only pet. She will watch you eat, but will not whine or beg for food. If you leave the room, she will follow you. She loves being petted and scratched. She would prefer to sleep with you, but will sleep in her crate without any problems. I think she would be best with someone who is retired, or home most of the time. I also think she's a little hard of hearing. Gina is the name she came into the shelter with, so I didn't change it. I do, however, call her Gina, Gigi, Miss G, or Pretty Girl.
