Story
Meet Gina, a precious 8 year old, 9 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Kyle, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Gina is doing so well! She is spayed and had a dental cleaning and they had to remove 3 more teeth, but she still has most of her teeth. She has done amazingly well on a mostly carnivore diet here. Her hair has stopped falling out and she has gained some weight! She does have a little heart murmur that may require medication in the future. This girl LOVES her daily walks. She actually jumps and dances when it's time to go out, lol. She will initially bark (a lot) at new people, but after she's been allowed to sniff them, she loves them. She does well with older kids, but she hasn't been around any young ones. She is definitely an alpha female and it appears that she had to fight for everything where she came from. I believe she may have been abused. She only barks when there are new people or other animals in her sight. She does not care for other dogs and will need to be an only pet. She will watch you eat, but will not whine or beg for food. If you leave the room, she will follow you. She loves being petted and scratched. She would prefer to sleep with you, but will sleep in her crate without any problems. I think she would be best with someone who is retired, or home most of the time. I also think she's a little hard of hearing. Gina is the name she came into the shelter with, so I didn't change it. I do, however, call her Gina, Gigi, Miss G, or Pretty Girl.

Story
Meet Milo, a precious 5 year old, 9 pound Yorkie Mix being fostered in Austin, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Milo is as sweet as pie and will be the perfect addition to any family! He's friendly to everyone and loves people (grown ups and kids) and other dogs. Milo is around 5 years old and about nine pounds. He has the energy for long walks and chasing squirrels in the yard but also enjoys leisurely naps and cuddles with his people. Milo would love to sleep in your bed at night and promises not to take up much room or wake you up! Hes a perfect gentleman during bath time and brushing. Milo is a kind and gentle pup who handles a high traffic home well and looks forward to greeting your guests with love and attention. Do be careful with opening the front door though as he can sometimes try for an unexpected outdoor adventure. If you choose Milo, you'll get a loving companion who enjoys adventure and relaxing on the couch with cuddles and love.

Story
I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. For more information on heartworms, please visit the American Heartworm Society here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basicsHSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight.
