Story
I recently found myself caring for a sweet and energetic dog after my neighbor unexpectedly abandoned her. Despite my efforts, I'm unable to provide her the long-term care she deserves. This playful pup, who we call Luna, is a Husky/Lab mix, full of life and love. She is 2-years-old and is extremely active. Luna enjoys going for walks, chasing squirrels, and cuddling on the couch. She would be a great companion for someone who leads an active lifestyle and has a big heart for dogs. Luna is house trained. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, she hasn’t been around children so you might have to introduce her slowly. If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion, Luna could be the perfect fit for your home. We are looking for a forever home where she can receive all the love and attention she deserves. Please reach out if you'd like to learn more about Luna.

Story
Little Foot was rescued off the streets of my neighborhood in October of 2022. He is a good sweet boy but in the last year has had issues getting along with our other male dog. I am not equipped or trained to handle his behavioral issues. He loves people and gets along with our two female dogs just fine. He just seems to overreact when he feels uncomfortable with our other male dog. I think he would thrive with someone that loves hiking, walking, skateboarding or any other outdoor activity. Three of our four dogs came off the streets of our neighborhood at different times since 2021. It's just become too much for me to handle the boys. I think Little Foot would make a great companion for someone that loves love. He is very much a people person and just wants to be with you as much as he can. I would also like to be best friends with whoever he may end up with as it is breaking my heart to even type this.

Story
Whit is a very smart girl, sometimes too smart! She has boundless energy and is dog selective, so would do best in a home with no other female dogs and with someone who could really run her. She has lived with us for four months and when she settles down at night she is great. She is right at a year old (or so) and we got her from someone who had rescued her from the street. Our four year old son loves her, but she would be best with older children. She is just too much for him to handle, although she does not mean to be. She eats dry food twice per day and loves to run outside. She can be a little territorial, which is why we think an experienced adopter would be best. She is very curious and has a stubborn streak, we think from not getting enough exercise. She gets along well with our male dog and another friends male dog. She has not gotten along well recently with a friends female dog. Her alpha tendencies kick in and she wants to be in charge.

Leigh’s foster This is a Courtesy Post for Canine Crusaders of Atlanta.  Please contact them directly for more info on Kacy at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com . Meet Miss Kacy: a fun, loving, 2 year-old, female Husky mix, who’s as sweet as they come! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Kacy is extremely outgoing and has the best personality. She absolutely loves everyone she meets and is a very happy, go lucky girl. Kacy is extremely smart and listens very well. She will sit, shake and lay down on command. She weighs around 50 pounds, is spayed, current on shots and crate trained. Kacy doesn’t have the thick, fluffy coat of a purebred Husky so that’s a lot less dog hair to brush!! She is great in the house and a non-chewer. Ready to add a fun, loving and spunky girl, who loves walks, car rides and especially belly rubs to your life?&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 ***Kacy needs a fenced yard, a 6 ft wood privacy fence works best. For more info on Kacy, email caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 12, 2024, 8:47 am

Story
When he was found he was in great shape. His coat was immaculate, nails trimmed and simply stunning. We put out the word on social media trying to nd the owner. No one replied. It's like he had just stepped o a beauty pageant runway. He has the makings of a movie star. He loves the spotlight :-). Honestly he's The Complete Package. This breed is known for being great escape artists. They love being outdoors. Gregarious and people loving. These are not good guard dogs. They are natural athletes, thriving on vigorous exercise. Wants to be involved with his people as much as possible. It is preferable that someone who is well informed about this breed adopts him. However he's very chill for a Husky. Loves riding in the car. Very well mannered. House trained. Plays well with both small and large sized dogs. He's been going to doggy socialization classes but he was a natural from day one. He must go to an active household that likes be outdoors like hiking, running, long walks, etc. This is a breed that needs daily exercise. He will want to snuggle and crawl into your lap. He would love to have a family with kids. Mishka is very well behaved; however, he is large and gets very excited when he meets people. A small child might get toppled over. He has not been cat temp tested.  Age: 1.5 years  Weight: 42 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative  Temperament: Good with older sturdy kids ,dogs .  Training: house trained, crate trained, knows commands. Adoption fee $400. For questions, please email.   kbstine@emory.edu   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. October 10, 2024, 3:24 pm
