Story
Mama Daisy  Daisy is one of the rescue's favorites. She loves her people and loves scratches under her chin. This senior blond babe is a total sweetheart. Not a lot is known of her background but it's clear that at some point she suffered severe abuse. We believe she is blind in one eye, but it doesn't slow her down. Last summer she had a litter of puppies and more than likely has had many litters over her 9 years. She is now spayed and able to enjoy her golden years. Daisy is very laid back, takes treats very tenderly.  Although she loves meal time, she will sit and wait for the "take it" signal. She loves her leisurely daily walks, and is very curious about her surroundings and other people and animals. She truly loves attention, and will come put her head on your lap to receive love, even better if she can cuddle up to you on the couch. Although we don't know how she is with cats, she gets along well with other friendly dogs. She is house trained, crate trained and has  made great strides on her leash skills.  ##1841728##

Story
Video: https://youtu.be/LHRAJJ-SV6U More videos of Meri in her foster home: https://tinyurl.com/4w3ywfee Meri is just about the gentlest, most docile, dog you'll ever meet. Her quiet, unassuming demeanor and loyal nature will pull at your heartstrings. She doesn't ask for much and isn't pushy at all. She's content to simply be by your side. She'll follow you around the house, lay her head against your lap, gaze at you adoringly with her tail gently wagging, and give you soft kisses. She is the epitome of a faithful, devoted companion. Meri lived at the county shelter for over 6 months and was a volunteer favorite with her soft sweetness. How she survived in such harsh conditions with her ability to love unscathed speaks volumes about her temperament. As a large, black dog, she was easily overlooked by adopters. But those who spent even a little time with her could see what a rare gem this girl is. Meri is crate-trained, rides calmly in the car, walks well on leash, knows commands such as "sit," "down," "shake" and "stay," and is responsive to even soft voice correction. Meri is a mellow, calm and well-behaved girl in the house. She doesn't beg for food, waits nicely to enter a doorway, takes treats gently, isn't mouthy, whiny or a nuisance barker, and is very respectful of personal space. She is a sensitive and soft soul. She adores people and greets everybody who comes to the house with gentle affection. Meri is still working on house training. Given how long she was trapped in a kennel at the shelter, with nobody to take her outside regularly, it may take some time for her to become familiar with a new routine. She also has a fear of baths and water nozzles, something we believe developed while at the shelter, so we towel wipe and dry bathe her when needed. Meri is fear-reactive with dogs she sees on walks, particularly if they are walking in her direction. We have been working with her under the guidance of a behaviorist and have already seen improvement, but her new family would need to continue with training. While we were told by the shelter that she had to be an only dog because of her fear-reactivity, we were able to slowly introduce her to our other foster dog over the course of several days. They now live and play together. Meri is estimated to be about 7 years old and weighs approx 75 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and current on shots. Meri is currently being fostered in PLEASANT HILL. She's been through a lot and we are determined that she'll have the best life going forward, so application, adoption fee & homecheck will apply. Meri is just the sweetest girl and will make you feel like you're the most special person in the world. ** Interested in becoming a co-foster parent? Story
Foster or adopter needed! Rocky is an affectionate, gentle and calm cuddle bug. He is friendly with all people and gets along with dogs, big and small. In fact, his best playmate is a small poodle. He has a playful streak, but is on the mellow side. Rocky was so malnourished when he went to the shelter that he was all skin and bones. We think his past life was pretty rough, but that hasn't affected his gentle demeanor at all. He is quick to trust and love. Rocky is neutered, current on shots, and microchipped. He has some separation anxiety so would do best with a family who is home often or who is willing to work with him to ease his anxiety. He will make the sweetest companion. Rocky is currently being boarded in a kennel but will soon be displaced as the kennel is shutting down. He needs a home urgently, whether it be a foster or adopter. ** This is a courtesy listing. If you’d like to meet Rocky, please contact Martina Animal Rescue at martinaanimalrescue@yahoo.com or text Desiree at (510) 575-5086. He is located in Walnut Creek, CA. **

Volunteers describe him as easy, sweet and low energy. Favorite things: slow walks, treats and loves to be loved. Loves petting and leans in for more. Will place head in your lap when you sit down. He would do best in a calm home which offers him a slow introduction to new surroundings.

Story
Gorgeous, sweet, Canelo found himself back in the system 😥 He is currently safe, but he needs an adopter, or even foster or foster to adopt, STAT. He has the most beautiful, soft, silky coat, perfect for snuggling in this colder weather ♥️ and cuddling is his most favorite thing to do! He loves belly rubs, and any kind of attention! While he doesn't love going into his crate, he does very well in it. He will lie down and play possum if he thinks he's going in 😄 Canelo seems to love everyone he comes in contact with, everyone is his friend. He has a medium to low energy level, and a sweet, loving personality. He's an easy going boy who would make a great family dog, or a perfect companion for someone who is looking for a cuddle buddy to hang out and watch TV with. He will need a cat free home, or someone who will be able to keep him separated from cats at all times. He finds them WAY too interesting. what we know about Canelo: 8 years old Neutered Up to date on vaccines Crate trained and house trained-he is also vocal when he needs to go! Does well with other dogs Good with children Seems to ride well in the car Does well on a leash Knows some basic commands If you are interested in fostering or, even better, adopting this handsome guy, please contact Martina Animal Rescue at martinaanimalrescue@yahoo.com or text Laura at 916-996-5777. Story
Willow is looking for a person who understands a drivey bully breed/ bulldog temperament like hers, who loves the quirks of a bull dog, The Willow situation: Willow has lived with a wonderful family for a couple of years now. She is still in need of a home who is ideal for her and her special needs but she has come a very very long way. She is deaf and has one eye, she has been through a lot of personal training, is also trained in hand signs and to use a stim collar (vibrate recall) etc.In the RIGHT situation with routine she mostly lays around all day, and is an easy bull dog 90%. She needs a home without other animals and while she absolutely loves kids, she is too strong for them at times. This may seem silly, but the problem is that while she is VERY tolerant of kids, she is also an extreme leg humper🤦🏼‍♀️.. yup! And sometimes she gets super excited and will grab onto a leg and scratch you up if you don't correct her and kiddos aren't strong enough to do this. She is very very strong. In a home with other animals she is very different- she has high drive and becomes neurotic and overstimulated and very difficult in a home with other animals. In the wrong home she can be difficult to manage so we are looking for the right situation now that we have her figured out. Crate trained, potty trained, great temperament. She thrives and requires a strong calm structure and leadership. She can be very submissive to her people but can also be pushy and dominant if you aren't managing her properly. It is hard to get her attention with her hearing special needs and loss of an eye, so her person needs to continue to work on her on e collar recall/ hand signals. She has already received lots of training. We want to ensure that her adoptive home will love and keep her for life.🐾 Go to www.k9ppr.org to send us an adoption application and tell us all about you and the home you would give sweet Willow! #k9ppr loves their bulldogs! Opt to adopt!-Treadmill trained-Can get too excited (overstimulate), like many bully breeds, so she thrives and requires a strong calm structure and leadership.- Too much prey drive for cats, and while she can now be around other dogs in a controlled setting, she should not live with other dogs. - Can be very submissive to her people but can also be pushy and dominant if you aren't managing her properly. - She is Active but calms down and chills. - She loves kids but right now we are looking for an adult home It is hard to get her attention with her hearing special needs and loss of an eye, so her person needs to continue to work on her on e collar recall/ hand signals. She has already received intensive training, and is awesome with her trainer, who will give her adopter free training. We want to ensure that her adoptive home will love and keep her for life which the communication benefits from training will help with.Being special needs her adoption fee is just a donation of your choice towards her medical costs with the agreement that you do some free training with her trainer. However please note that bull dogs are not low cost dogs to own!🐾 Go to www.k9ppr.org to send us an adoption application and tell us all about you and the home you would give sweet Willow! #k9ppr loves their bulldogs! Story
Meet Macaron Cookie, the sweetest pup in town! Hey, I'm Mac, but you can call me Mac for short – 2 years old, 34 lbs of pure handsomeness, and a mysterious mix of  WHO KNOWS LOL... something bulldog and something active     My hobbies include howling at the moon (it's a dog thing), stealing treats (who can resist?), and long ear scratches (seriously, it's my weakness). Despite my charming looks, I'm still perfecting my 'how' etiquette and basic commands. But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, right?   I'm a playful guy, 2 years young, who loves short walks and can be your Netflix buddy for the night – crate-trained and all! Did I mention I'm a foodie? Training me is a breeze when treats are involved!     I've got a soft spot for chasing small animals (cats and squirrels, watch out!) and chewing on bones. Not a fan of loud noises or thunderstorms, but if you've got treats, I'm a brave boy!   Overcoming shyness with men?I I am working on it. Treats involved of course. A trainer to help me overcome my shyness with men is recommended.   Great with kids 5+ and other dogs – I'm basically a social butterfly! Ideal home? Someone who can shower me with love, attention, training, and a dash of patience. Currently chilling in foster care near Oakland, CA. Interested in making me your forever buddy? Shoot an email to beourpet@gmail.com Let's make memories and have a pawsitively amazing time together! #AdoptMac #MacaronMagic #PawsomePal       GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Yes Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Chases Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: NO regular adoption fee applies Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee.
