Story
Hi! My name is Jolina. Before I got rescued by Lucci's, I was at the big scary city shelter, terrified of people. I don't really know how I got there, some ladies put some food in a box and the next thing I knew, I couldn't get out! People had reported seeing me run around for 2 weeks with my front leg hurting. Once I got to the shelter the doctor there said my leg was a healed break. I found it hard to make friends at the shelter, but my foster mom took me under her wing, and worked on socializing me. I have turned out to love her! I turn to her for confidence when I'm not sure about something. As you can see from my photo, I have the best smile! I am a spayed female, approximately 2 years old, weigh 34lbs and love going on walks around my neighborhood and coming back home to a frozen peanut butter kong. I am dog and cat friendly! I prefer a dog who isn't super playful and will leave my toys alone. I don't really like to share, though my foster mom tells me sharing is caring… I am mostly housebroken, but sometimes I do have accidents overnight so my foster mom leaves potty pads down & I do use those! I have not met any kids yet, but I don't think young kids would be my cup of tea. They're very loud and move too fast, but older teenagers who respect my space will do just fine. I do have stranger danger, and like to protect my person. Men are also pretty scary. The most important thing to know about me is that once I feel safe around you, you have my complete trust. I will love you forever!

Story
Creed is a wild, crazy boy. He is a year and a half old and close to 70 pounds. Creed is a big boy and he has a lot of energy. He also loves to be the center of attention. He is working very hard on his training with his foster mom and is slowly but surely learning what "no" means. He is also close to perfecting "down." One unique thing about Creed is that he loves shoes. He is always so proud of himself when he brings them to the living room to show off to his foster mom. While he is a big, energetic dog he also has a soft side and finds comfort in sucking on his blanket. Creed likes to play but he is too rough and very defensive. He plays outside in a fenced area with his foster sibling, but he does have to be rotated in the house, so we think Creed would do best as the only dog in the home. Creed is looking to be someone's only and forever furbaby - he checks all the boxes for the best boy ever, who needs a sibling?! If Creed sounds like the right dog for you, inquire today!

Story
Where do we start with Joey?! Joey is simply everything good in a dog. His #1 priority in life: people. He loves people more than any dog we’ve ever been around. He wants your attention at all times without being annoying, loves to be pet and will push your hand when you stop and is obsessed with snuggling. Second to people, this boy loves his toys. He loves if you play with him or he’ll adorably throw his toys in the air to play all by himself if you’re not available. Joey also LOVES walks although he thinks he can go further than his body might allow. As soon as he sees the leash come out he jumps up and down with excitement. We think Joey is anywhere from 8-10 years old. He is roughly 80 pounds. He may be a senior but he’s got SO much life in him. His personality shines through in every way. Which says a lot because you can tell he has been through a lot. He has signs of a prior injury to his left ear, random scars and came to us very very skinny. He makes progress every day though and you’d never know that people let him down because he loves them so much. While certainly not a deal breaker, we think Joey may do best being the only dog in the home. He has been getting along with our dog but his love for people has him resource guarding us every now and then (gets a little tense when he has to share attention with our dog). He’s indifferent to our dog in terms of having any interest in playing/interacting. He doesn’t really pay attention to him at all and isn’t reactive to other dogs on walks at all- all he cares about is his people!! He’s truly a PERFECT companion dog and just craves love. He’s the happiest, goofiest boy. Cherry on top? He is SO well behaved- he listens like a champ, is great on a leash, not people or animal reactive, knows sit, down, shake and more. He isn’t crazy about crates but he is fine with a dog bed left out, he’s completely housebroken. There’s so much more we could say about Joey but he has our heart and we know he whoever gets him will be so lucky. The only thing more rewarding than saving a senior dog is saving a senior dog that craves love like Joey. He will spend every day thanking you.

Story
Ronan is a very sweet, goofy Olde English Bulldog boy, who came to EDCR for help getting his Inflammatory Bowel Disease under control.  Ronan has seen our veterinary specialists and is on special food and supplements.  He will likely need to be on special food for the rest of his life.  But Ro doesn't let that slow him down!  He is a super sweet guy who loves being outside with his people, but is just as content to snuggle up and lay that mushy face right in your lap for a good snuggle sesh. If you are interested in adopting Ronan, or just getting to know him a little better, please fill out an application at EDCR.org. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Each dog in our rescue is in a loving foster home, where they can grow, play, and recover from their time spent on the streets or in a shelter. If you'd like to meet an adoptable dog, please fill out an application on our website, www.edcr.org. Because we are a foster home based rescue a completed adoption application is required to meet our adoptable dogs. September 20, 2023, 9:59 pm

Story
Miley will need a home with NO kitty friends. She does do well with dogs of all sizes but would likely do best with no other female dogs in the house. She is an attention hog and will require her other furry family members to be ok with this. She doesn't have a clue what personal space is. Your bubble, is her bubble. She does well with the current children in her foster home but sometimes can be a little apprehensive of visiting children. She will also require a physically fenced in yard.If you're interested in meeting or adopting Miley, please complete an application at: inapl.org/adoption-application. Once it's processed, a member of our team will be in touch with you to schedule a meet and greet appointment. This is the time when you and all members of your household will come to our shelter to officially make your connection with Miley.MileyAmerican Bulldog mixFemaleDOB: 8/2/2019Weight: 48 lbs.Heartworm Negative

Story
Hi! I'm Zelly Zelda girl!I'm a senior girl who is adored by staff and volunteers! I've been thriving in my foster home but would love to find my forever home! You'll luckily learn all about how I am in a home when you meet me since my foster can fill you in, which is awesome, right?! I love to go on walkies (great walker!), play with toys and I'm SO snuggly! My goofy trait is I make little grunts when I walk. I've had a tough life so I'm a sensitive lady. I need to be the only pet in the home and no little kids - dog-savvy teens are fine though! My ideal home is laid back where I'm treated like a queen! Please set an appointment to meet with me! Pretty please! Love, Zelda Bear*Zelda is a single pet placement, and due to her sensitive nature may be a bit overwhelmed by the day to day activity of a home with active or rambunctious kids. She may do ok with easy going, older, dog savvy teenagers.*
