Story
Location: Glencoe, MN Hi, I’m Pepper! 🐾 I’m an 8-year-old bundle of love wrapped in the softest fur and the kindest heart. My foster family says I’m one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. Once I get to know you, I’ll be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your biggest fan. I love giving kisses, curling up next to you, and being the center of your world - because to me, you’ll be the center of mine. At first, I can be a little cautious when meeting new people. I just need a little time to feel safe, but once I do, my whole heart belongs to you. When you earn my trust, you’ll see my goofy, affectionate side - the part of me that loves to play, lean in for hugs, and make you laugh with my big, silly “lap dog” personality (all 80 pounds of it!). I currently live with another female dog who’s 5 years old, and we have so much fun together! We love to play and chase - though sometimes I forget my own strength. I also love my naps and have been told my snoring is absolutely adorable. It’s just one of my many charms! I adore toys (maybe a little too much!), so I prefer to have my own stash to keep things peaceful. I’m also a big fan of treats, and I’m happy to share as long as everyone gets one! I’m mostly house-trained and try so hard to be a good girl. If I ever have an accident, it’s never on purpose. I always feel bad and want to make it right because I really do try my best to make my humans proud. My foster parents say they truly don’t want to let me go, but they know there’s a perfect family out there who will love me unconditionally and make me the center of their world. I still have so much life to live and even more love to give. I’m full of joy, warmth, and loyalty and I’m just waiting for someone who will see me for the beautiful, loving companion I am. If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted, and endlessly loving best friend to share your heart and home with, I promise - I’m your girl. All I need is a chance, and I’ll spend the rest of my life showing you just how special forever can be. ❤️ --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Have you ever wanted a partner who gives you endless attention, loves a little too hard, and wants to be involved in everything you do? Well… you’ve found her! Shela would love nothing more than to be your partner in crime. Whether it’s going for walks, tagging along on adventures, or simply hanging out at home, she’s happiest right by your side. She’ll keep you company in the kitchen while you cook—and yes, she’ll even patiently wait outside the bathroom just to make sure she doesn’t miss a moment with you. Shela is a big fan of treats and would likely enjoy some continued training—especially if snacks are involved! She has the cutest little grunty noises she makes to communicate and show her excitement. She also loves a good game of tug-of-war and happily entertains herself with her favorite chew toys. Shela does have some skin allergies that have made her a bit flaky, but we’re working on finding the best way to manage them so she can feel her very best. Shela does not currently live with other dogs in her foster home and has shown some hesitation when meeting new dogs. She would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home. If there are other dogs in the home, separation would be needed initially, along with very slow, structured introductions.

Story
Meet the world’s largest lap dog trapped inside a Lab/Coonhound/bulldogmix body. 🐶 This goofy girl somehow missed the memo about “personal space” and believes every dog she meets is her new best friend. She LOVES to play and would happily spend all day romping around with canine buddies. Cats? She respectfully ignores them like a true professional. Now, she looks intimidating with her big size and deep bark… but honestly? She’s about as threatening as a marshmallow. Behind that tough-girl exterior is a giant dork whose favorite hobbies include playing with kids, zooming around the yard, and forgetting she weighs more than 10 pounds when she leans into you for love. She adores kids she has met (5 & 8) and would be thrilled to have a family to play with. She’s also both house trained (on a schedule) and kennel trained, so she already has the important life skills down — even if leash manners are still a work in progress. Full disclosure: she definitely skipped Basic Obedience 101. She’s still young, gets excited easily, jumps when happy, and thinks leash walking is more of a competitive sport. The good news? She is VERY treat motivated and eager to learn — she just needs someone willing to teach her that not every walk is the Iditarod. If you’re looking for a sweet, hilarious, harmless giant with a big personality and an even bigger heart, this girl is ready to make your home a lot more fun. ❤️ If you’re looking for a loving, silly, loyal dog who wants to be involved in your life and maybe even have a purpose of her own, I just might be your Kismet. Kismet is from a local owner surrender

Story
*This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Grayce is a gentle, wise soul who has truly mastered the art of cozy living. This sweet older gal prefers the slower pace of life—you won’t find her sprinting laps around the yard, but you will find her enjoying peaceful walks, taking in the sights and smells at her own comfortable speed. Her favorite place to be is curled up on the couch, happily relaxing with her blanket and beloved stuffy close by. Every now and then, she’ll get up, stretch her legs, and treat you to an adorable little wiggle-butt moment that’s sure to make you smile. Grayce has wonderful manners in the home. She lets you know when she needs to go potty, hasn’t shown any interest in chewing or destroying items, and doesn’t require a kennel. She’s quiet and content, rarely barking—even when left alone—and she rides calmly in the car like a seasoned traveler. She can coexist with other dogs, but she does have a bit of a “what’s mine is mine” mindset when it comes to cozy spaces, toys, and her people. If another dog joins you on the couch, settles onto a shared bed, or starts playing nearby, Grayce may hurry over and bark to let them know her feelings. Because of this, she’s currently being managed with crate-and-rotate or baby gates to keep everyone comfortable and set up for success. She may do best as an only dog, or in a home experienced with managing multiple dogs and giving her clear boundaries. Grayce is also working through some skin and allergy issues, and with continued care, she’ll be feeling her best in no time. What Grayce truly wants most is a loving home where she can relax, feel safe, and share her gentle, comforting presence. She isn’t flashy—she’s something better. She’s steady, sweet, and full of quiet love, just waiting to be yours. ---- Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape.

Story
Meet Sophie! Sophie is an energetic girl who is looking for a new home! She's always at a level 10 and loves to run and chase. Sophie would do amazing in a home with an active family. She would benefit from consistent training and mental enrichment to keep her from going stir-crazy! Sophie does show signs of separation anxiety when left alone. She would do best being left in a kennel when home alone. This will keep her feeling safe and secure and help to keep Sophie out of trouble when no one is home to keep an eye out. Sophie has met dogs and did well with them. She has met cats and young children but did not have good interactions with them. Sophie does enjoy chasing things, so a home with no cats, young children, and small animals would be ideal for Sophie. Slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are always recommended when bringing home a new animal. Ask a TCHS staff member for tips! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals.
