Story
Yumi is a 2-year-old Bulldog mix who is eager to explore the world around her! Weighing in at 50 lbs, she makes the silliest noises when she's sleeping or sniffing on a walk, and her adorable full-body wiggles are sure to bring joy to any home. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and makes for a great roommate because of how she loves to lounge and snuggle—especially when belly rubs are involved!—and isn't noisy when left alone. Her favorite thing is getting comfy on the couch with you and snuggling up in some blankets. She is such a sweet silly girl who loves attention and being involved, but is also happy to go nap while you need your own space.Yumi thrives on mental stimulation and loves food puzzles, learning new tricks, and going on adventures. Her foster family says she does well with a mix of short and long walks throughout the day (totaling 45-90 minutes per day). She will prefer a fenced yard in her future home, but as long as she gets plenty of run time and off-leash time, she will be fulfilled. When she's at home, she's happy to sniff around, play with soft toys, and chew on a Kong. This brave girl has been through a lot—she survived living on the street and later recovered from hip surgery with incredible resilience. She is a survivor and a thriver! She gets very curious about anything new and learns very quickly. Yumi would love to be your only fur-kid but would like a family who could help her learn how to meet new dog friends so she can have fun! Yumi has also met a couple kids and it has gone well, but has not lived with any. Yumi will need a cat-free home!If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate dog who’s eager to learn and cuddle, Yumi is the perfect match for you!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Zoe and Rusty seem to be heavily bonded. They are both super sweet dogs. Zoe is more laid back, and Rusty is a typical lab - very playful!! Zoe and Rusty are in Mississippi, and the adoption fee includes transportation to you. We use Rescue Riders, the most reliable transporters on the road. Please respond for an application!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Coraline, your future lowrider beauty queen. I may be shaped like a bulldog mix, but I strut like a runway model with short legs and a big personality. At about 45 pounds of pure wiggle, I’m the perfect size to wrestle with my dog friends, chase tennis balls, and then plop right into your lap for a cuddle session. My favorite hobbies include collecting tennis balls like they’re rare treasures, rocking cozy sweaters in the chilly Minnesota weather, and practicing my zoomies in the yard. I love wrestling matches with dogs and humans alike, and I play hard but love even harder. I’m kennel trained, leash trained, potty trained, and car-ride approved. Basically, I’m the total package. I do sometimes forget my name—or maybe I just like to keep you guessing—but I’ll happily listen when you say “Outside” or “Kennel.” I’m great with kids, adults, and other dogs, though I’d really love a buddy to wrestle with or humans who are home most of the time to keep me company. I’m goofy, affectionate, and guaranteed to make you laugh at least once a day. If you’re looking for a silly sweetheart who’s equal parts cuddle bug and playmate, I’m your girl. Adopt me, and let’s start our happily-ever-after, preferably with snacks and tennis balls. Love, Coraline Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To learn more, visit  https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the Bulldog application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. These two sweeties are ready to put their breeding days behind them and find their own forever home.Merlin is a merle male who is 8 years old. His future adopter will need to ensure he receives routine vet care to keep him in tip top shape! If you think you are ready to bring this boy into your life, apply online today!
