Story
Maggie is an amazing, 2.5 year old, purebred American Bulldog (with pedigree). She never has accidents, is crate trained (though she hasn’t needed to be in it for about a year), and will sleep/snuggle on the couch about 22 hours a day if you let her. She went through a 3 week training program and will come with prong/E collar. She is great with our young kids, does well with dogs she has been properly introduced to, but has aggression towards dogs she doesn’t know (especially small dogs). She can be stand-offish towards ppl she doesn’t know, but warms up quickly. She has never bitten anyone, but has bitten two small dogs. She needs to go to a home with an experienced owner that can make sure she is controlled at all times when she is outside (more than a 4 foot fence). It breaks our hearts to have to let her go, but she needs a home where she has more space and fewer strange dogs walking around.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.//     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.org Adoption Fee: $300 plus taxHe’s a total, loveable, Bulldog brute! He believes:  People are the Best He is well behaved without being crated in the home Definitely a lap dog Zoomies are the best thing ever And his name is totally spot on…he’s definitely a Rhino!  But in the most lovable way possible.  His favorite thing to do is get cuddles and pets, but he can be kinda pushy about it! So…small humans may need Hulk strength to handle his love! Belly rubs are the best! Dogs?  He’s got a mentality like a lot of us people nowadays do though.  He likes social distancing right away and getting to know his dog friends very slowly before jumping from strangers to best friends right away. He can get a little too excited somtimes at the sight of a new friend. Rhino will not do well at a dog park. People? THE BEST.  Kitties?  Well…they’re not the best housemates with Rhino. They’re basically a stuffed toy, right? No, Rhino! Kitties are not toys! No small dogs either, heis a Rhino after all. Something to keep in mind with him - He would be just as happy being the only dog and getting all the love! If you think you might want a bulldog, Rhino’s a pretty cool dude for that role.Rhino will require a secure fence in his adoptive home. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey, I’m Surly. I’m a 10 year old English bulldog. Although I am 10, I definitely still have some spunk in me! I enjoy short walks but will definitely tell you when I’m over my walk and want to go back home to sleep on the couch. I love cuddles and being covered up with a blanket while I sleep. I have a lot of sass and will tell you when I need something. I expect you to share every dish of food you make with me. I am potty and kennel trained. I would never get into anything in the home and don’t really play with toys but I absolutely love bones. I should go to a calmer house to live out my golden years. I have gotten 8 teeth removed so I’ll need year dental check ups to ensure the rest of my teeth are in good health and stay nice and clean. I had some masses on my body tested but they came back benign so thankfully everything is clear there. There should be no issues going forward. I am good with cats. I’ll either cuddle with them or ignore them depending on my mood. I am okay with dogs as long as they are calm and leave my food alone. I don’t like when other dogs are playing or running around too much. I’m a great car rider as well and I love absolutely everyone I meet as long as they give me pets or scratches. If they don’t, I get sad and will tell them that I want some. I have such a big personality and would love a bed to sleep in. I always sleep in bed cuddled up next to my foster momma as well.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, dental, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $195.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 29, 2023, 10:49 pm

She loves to just lounge on the couch and be held/pet. Louise enjoys being queen of the castle and would prefer not to have other dogs in her home. She also enjoys a good chew toy or wrestling match with a plush toy. You've got a BIG kisser on your hands! Good morning kisses, goodnight kisses, kisses just because she's happy to see you, all of the kisses. She's a dog... but basically she's a little piglet, the oinks, honks and snores are plentiful. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi all, my name is Papa Jay. I am 94 lbs of love and my foster mom tells me I am a very good boy. I approach each day with joy and tail wags. My start in life was likely not so great, but I love life now. I am a very good listener and I love cuddling (even when it is very hot outside I think it is a great time to show off my lap dog skills). I know sit, lay and come. I also love flopping over to get belly rubs. I am an adventurous eater and love everything from dog food to cucumbers to a tiny bit of Amish donut from the Minnesota State Fair. I walk pretty nicely on leash if I have a harness, although I do like stopping to sniff. I also adore my kennel and I have a tendency to stash all of my toys inside to make it feel really nice. I almost never bark and I sleep well through out the night. I am generally a pretty mellow guy, but I have about 8 minutes of zoomies a day. If I think I might get to go on a car ride, I get really really excited. My foster mom says I am a terrific rider. I do well with other dogs, but I can be a lot due to my size. I have played best with dogs who will tell me when I need to slow it down. I am far too excited to be around cats, they look a little too tasty. My ideal forever home would be pretty quiet without tons of guests. I have been good around the children I have met, but I am very food motivated and I can be a little grabby and I don't always look where I am going so I could topple small children easily.   Papa Jay is from a local impound. Story
Hi! My name is Sox and I am an owner surrender from a Secondhand Hounds tribal partner. From the foster: Hi, I'm Sox! I'm two years old and 84 pounds. My foster family calls me "Big Guy due to my size, but I am a gentle giant. While I do like playing with my toys and ripping them to shreds, I also love to snuggle! It is my favorite thing. If you let me, I will curl up on the couch next to you, and will hopefully receive some pets. I like being outside, but my family gets annoyed on walks because I like to sniff and explore. I get really excited when I see a rabbit or squirrel, so somebody strong should hold my leash. I like sleeping in my kennel at night with the door open, but sometimes I like to lay on the floor and stretch out. I am a snorer, so sorry if I keep you awake! I do fine in my kennel during the day when my family is at work. Sometimes they leave me out of the kennel when they are only gone for a short time. I don't like it when they leave, so I might whine for a little bit, but then I am okay. I am house trained and my family is very proud of me because I have never had an accident in the house since I started living with them. I do great with other dogs, but cats are a bit too much for me, so it's better if I don't live with them. I also do fine with kids. But due to my size and strength, it is better if the kids are not too little. I know my size can put people off, but I really am a big teddy bear at heart, and cannot wait to find my forever home!
