Story
Hey, I’m Surly. I’m a 10 year old English Bulldog. Although I am 10, I definitely still have some spunk in me.  I enjoy short walks but will definitely tell you when I’m over my walk and want to go back home to sleep on the couch.  I love cuddles and being covered up with a blanket while I sleep. I have a lot of sass and will tell you when I need something. I expect you to share every dish of food you make with me. I am potty and kennel trained but love being left out of the kennel to snooze on the couch while you’re away.I would never get into anything in the home and don’t really play with toys but I absolutely love bones.  I should go to a calmer house to live out my golden years. I have gotten 8 teeth removed so I’ll need yearly dental check ups to ensure the rest of my teeth are in good health and stay nice and clean. I had some masses on my body tested but they came back benign so thankfully everything is clear there. There should be no issues going forward. I am good with cats. I’ll either cuddle with them or ignore them depending on my mood. I am okay with dogs as long as they are calm and leave my food alone. I don’t like when other dogs are playing or running around too much. I’m a great car rider as well. On our walks or out in public, I really love meeting strangers and letting them say hi to me. I normally will stop walking when someone is approaching in hopes that they will see me staying at them and say hi to me! I have such a big personality and would love a bed to sleep in. Oh yeah, I always sleep in bed cuddled up next to my foster momma as well! I will definitely make you laugh every day. I am just a goof ball of a doggo and would love to meet you! Xoxo, Surly Butt Butt Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, dental, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $195.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 4:02 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $450 plus taxMeet Fitz, a fun-loving puppy who is ready to find his forever home! Fitz is making great progress with housetraining, though he still needs supervision to ensure he goes outside. He does well in his kennel during the workday, occasionally making some noise at first.  He also is happy sleeping in his kennel but of course wont turn down an offer to sleep in bed. Fitz has also spent hours out in the house without any issues, but we recommend gradually increasing his free time, as he is still working on knowing what are his toys to chew on and what are not.  Fitz knows the 'sit' command well and can often be refocused and calmed down with a treat. He is comfortable with having his food taken away mid-meal and is improving at dropping items like toys and sticks when asked, especially if a treat is involved. He's a smart pup who is motivated by food and enjoys training sessions. Fitz is great with other dogs and plays well with his foster sisters, usually listening when they tell him to stop due to his playful puppy energy. On walks, he shows some interest in other dogs but is generally content to let them pass by. Fitz has met kids aged 9-15 and did well with them. He has discovered his voice but could probably do well in a place with shared walls if he's the only dog and has plenty of toys, or with a quieter dog, as one of his foster sisters loves to bark at animals outside and he seems to take her cue when she starts.  Fitz will make a wonderful addition to any family, especially one with other dogs. While a fenced-in yard would be ideal, he will thrive with daily walks and plenty of chew toys. Fitz is full of fun energy and is excited to bring joy to his new home. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Gus, the ADORABLE 9-year-old Bulldog (~40 lbs), is an absolute sweetheart who adores being by his family's side and capturing everyone's hearts. He has a special knack for resting his chin on your lap and gazing up at you with admiration, making it nearly impossible to resist his charm. In the mornings, Gus prefers to take his time getting up and doesn't appreciate being rushed. He has had the pleasure of being around other dogs and kids, and he absolutely adores his food and treats! Keep an eye out though, as he may try to sneak some food from his furry siblings if given the chance. Gus thrives on being with his loved ones, enjoys going on car rides, and is always excited to meet new people. Whether you're a family that loves taking him along on adventures, a cozy at-home family, or a senior seeking a loyal companion, Gus would be the perfect fit for you. Age: 9 years Breed: Bulldog Weight: ~40 lbs Kid-friendly: Fantastic with kids, would be a wonderful companion to a family!!! Dogs: Great with big and small dogs. Gus loves his food and treats, so when when feeding Gus recommend supervised or separated feedings. Cats: Recommend a home with no cats for Gus. Crate trained: Yes, initially Gus preferred a kennel--now he prefers dog beds and being by his family. Potty trained: Yes, once Gus learned the household routine, he has had no accidents. Health concerns: Gus came to us with horrible allergies + hair loss. He is going to continually need to be treated for allergies, special diet and his ears cleaned post adoption Current medications & estimated costs: Gus came to us with horrible allergies + hair loss. He is going to continually need to be treated for allergies, special diet and his ears cleaned post adoption Adoption fee: $375   As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm Mary!  Are you looking for a girl who wants to cuddle, cover you in kisses and has more energy than you'd expect from a bulldog?  Well then you're in luck because that's me!  I enjoy doing zoomies in my home and I'll dash around on leash when outside too!  I enjoy walks when it isn't too hot.  I also love playing with my doggie friends from playing chase to some wrestling.  I can be a little much for small dogs sometimes, but I do listen when they tell me to take it down a notch.  When I'm tired out I lay all stretched out like a froggie.  Mom says it's adorable!  I like to jump onto the couch and cuddle with my parents too.  I just can't get close enough and also can't help myself from covering them in kisses!  I really like toys and bones, but I will chew on soft toys until I get those squeakers out.  It's best to watch me so I don't accidentally swallow them.  I'm doing great with potty and kennel training on a schedule.  I always go right away when I get in the grass!  It would probably be best if there were no little kids in my home.  I don't realize my size and I know I'd accidentally knock them down.  I also love food and would likely snatch food from their little hands.  Sorry not sorry is my motto when it comes to food haha!    When I came to Underdog, I had a really infected tail. The vets removed that and I feel like a whole new lady! In addition to that, I was spayed, had a dental, and had surgery on my nares and soft palate to breathe better.  I can't wait to meet you and become your bestie and you're beloved baby girl! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Plum, who we affectionately refer to as Alice. Alice displays a gentle and sweet demeanor, and really enjoys children. If given the opportunity, she loves to snuggle in bed. She delights in showing affection by licking faces endlessly. She is generally quiet and composed once settled into her environment. Alice is bright and quick to learn. She is an athlete and enjoys bouncing around enthusiastically. She gets along with other dogs after being given the opportunity of slow introductions, but she doesn't like to share treats or food and those should be given to her individually.    She can have big feelings when it comes to loud vehicles, lawn mowers, and new dogs but with patience, time and training her reaction to those triggers should diminish over time. Want to learn more about Alice and see if she is your newest family member? Apply today!  Plum is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can   donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 5:57 pm

Story
Location: Savage, MN Hello! My name is Storm! The name only fits me sometimes - I can be a bit of a tornado when my humans come home from work or right when I get my day started, but I calm down pretty quickly and transform into the biggest cuddle bug. Don't let my stoic pictures fool you.. I am a happy boy who doesn't hold back my love! Not to squeak my own toy, but my foster parents say I am the easiest foster they have ever had. The crate isn't my favorite place to be, but I hang out in there just fine, and will even sleep in there if I have to. I LOVE my big foster brothers! We run around the yard and play and then snuggle up together for a nap. They showed me the ropes and let me right in to their pack (after a proper slow introduction, of course!). I'd love a fur sibling of my very own to grow up with! I do sometimes pull on my leash when we go out for walks, but ya can't really blame me because the world is just so exciting, am I right!? I can't wait to find my forever family and bring them as much joy as I've given my foster family. What are you waiting for??? Apply to meet me so I can show you how amazing I am! My tiger stripes look even cooler in person, just sayin'.. -------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
