**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Bodie. I'm 12 weeks old and looking for my forever family. Our mom is an American Bulldog and due to our appearance, it is believed that our dad was a Mountain Cur. My mom and litter were brought into the pound by a nice man who'd found our mom (who was in pretty rough condition) right before she gave birth to us. He took care of us as long as he was able to and brought us in when we were 6 weeks old. We are all extremely sweet and loving little babies and our mom also has a very sweet temperament. We will need taught all of our basic training, including housebreaking. If you're looking for a sweet puppy to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Got Bully breed experience and looking to adopt? Petey just may be the dog for you! He's got all of the silly quirks bulldogs have, and then some. LOL He is house trained, and pretty much chill inside his foster home. He is 100% potty trained, and loves to poop on inappropriate things while on walks. Yes, I need to get videos. I prefer taking Petey for walks at locations where we won't run into other dogs on walks, because he turns into a wild boy with excitement. A positive reinforcement training  would be super beneficial with this! I also have learned as Petey's foster mom, that there's much more to learn about this meatball. While outside with the hose the other day, Petey decided to claim it from me, and there was no turning back. He became destroyer of said garden hose, and to say the least, he had a blast playing with it, water spraying everywhere. For this reason, I suggest someone loving, with patience who will work with Petey in getting to know his silly quirks. We are looking for a home with no young children, and Petey would need to have a meet and greet if there's other dogs in your home. A fenced in yard is prefered. If you would like to be considered to adopt this silly boy, please fill out an application at pawsandprayers.org, and feel free to email me at sswank1@gmail.com after it is submitted, or if you have any questionsd. His adoption fee is $100, and includes neuter, UTD vaccines, heartworm, tick and flea preventative, microchip, and endless love and appreciation from Petey!October 1, 2024, 6:07 pm

Meet Molly! The affectionate 7-year-old american bulldog mix with a heart of gold! Weighing in at a sturdy 71 pounds, Molly is the perfect blend of sweetness and loyalty.Molly is a sweetheart who adores nothing more than a good butt scratch. Her loving nature makes her an ideal companion for families seeking a faithful and affectionate furry friend.Molly would do well with children aged 10 years and older, creating a harmonious environment where she can share her love and affection with her human siblings.Molly does not seem to be very fond of dogs, so if there is one in her forever home they would need to be laid back and do slow introductions, however she might not mind being the only dog in her forever home.Ready to welcome the love of Molly into your life?
