Story
Her name is chocolate chip (cc or cece) for short she will also answer to little mamas. She is a great dog calm loves to cuddle and loves to be loved she is a barker. She does like to bark a lot but she would make a good alert dog. She has some issues with her legs she can walk but not for long periods of time. She would be an amazing emotional support dog. She just needs a lot of care and a lot of love. She does have allergies and will need shots. We have cages dog bowls and all. It is my mother’s dog and unfortunately she is undergoing health issues and cannot afford nor take care of her and I do not have the time. She just needs someone with time that’s all and special care. There’s not much else I can really say. I would just love to find her a good home and give her a better life.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Fredo. I'm about 4-5 years old and I weigh about 57 lbs. I was brought into the pound along with a litter of pups and another adult dog, after being found living in deplorable conditions following a gas leak in our home. I am a sweet and happy boy. I have been very sweet with people and I have also been good around the other dogs that I've met at the pound since making my way here. I do a good job of keeping my kennel clean at night. I may need a little more work with my housebreaking, but for the most part, I do well. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Moon. I'm about 3 years old and I weigh about 68 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Lisbon area and I was brought as a pound. I am a very sweet girl with people. I've been a total love bug. I love attention and affection. Scritch scratches and belly rubs are pretty cool! I have been a pretty good girl around the other dogs that I've met since making my way into the pound too. The pound does always recommend meet and greets with any other dogs I would potentially live with just to make sure we get along well. I do have separation anxiety and would do best if kept in a heavy duty crate while you're away from home to help keep both me and your home and things safe. I have been clean in my kennel at night and I appear to be at least mostly potty trained. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Story
Hello, my name is Dottie! I`m sure you can guess why...all my adorable spots! My personality is spot on! I am very smart and love to learn new things. The staff have taught me lots of things like basic obedience, how to walk nicely on leash, and even how to wear a muzzle for vet visits. I`m still learning and would love a family who wants to learn with me! I recently started going to dog playgroup here, so I may be able to live with a dog in my future home, but I would need to meet them to make sure we get along, however I am used to being queen of the castle in my previous home. I am a big, goofy, go-lucky girl. I would do best in a home of older kids, I am housebroken and crate trained, but I also do well when left alone in a home. I love playing in water and enjoy all kinds of toys. I am a big cuddle bug and I adore snuggling. I can be unsure of new people, so it may take me a few times to feel comfy, cozy around you, but once I do....you better make room for this big butt to sit on you! Come meet me today! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neuteringAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2022 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $7.00. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$5.00)Leash and collar included
