Lisa is gentle as a lamb. She loves hugs and kisses and tries her very best to make you happy. How could you not love a baby with a smile as wide as her sweet face?Lisa was abandoned on the side of the road with her sister Marge. The temperatures were in the high 90's and these girls had neither food nor water! Someone just left them on the side of the road to die. We tried our darndest to ignore their plight but when I drove by a second time and saw how terrified and hungry they were, we had to help. We brought them food and water in buckets and prayed they would be friendly (since I had heard all the stories about pit bulls). I admit they were leery of us too but as soon as they had a few bites they became our best buddies. Lisa was so thin, and something had caused some serious cuts, but she has never even paused in her outpouring of love and gratitude. What a precious girl. Lisa is especially extra gentle and innocent and loves nothing more than sitting beside you, knowing you are near.Lisa loves kisses and belly rubs, running wide open, and treats. She will make a devoted fur baby to a family that does not have cats or chickens. This is our sweet precious Lucy. Lucy had an owner but her owner used to turn her out every day to wander the streets. A friend of the rescue would pick her up when she saw her and bring her home. She feared that Lucy would get hit by a car so one day when she returned her home, she asked the owners if they would surrender her to a rescue. They agreed and Lucy arrived here happy as a clam. She's a big girl, not fat, just a big girl. She's a very gentle big girl, sleeps in my bed with all the little ones sleeping on top of her! She loves children and cats. She was heart worm positive when she arrived but we have cleared all of that up. Lucy maybe a little older at 8 years but she has the energy of a puppy. She loves to play all day with the rest of the shelter dogs. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and house broken. She needs her forever home, could that be you? ADOPTION FEE $300

Meet Ritter! Ritter is a good-looking American Bulldog mix. Estimated to have been born in 2015, Ritter is well set into his adult years. While he definitely has his mellow moments, but he is still full of youth, life, and love. Ritter came to us as a stray and was sadly never claimed, but that never seemed to bother him any. He was quick to make friends with us here and gain our love. Ritter is incredibly social and loves making all kinds of friends. He loves to get loved on by his friends but is also very independent and content to just relax in the same room as his pals, not needing constant contact or snuggles. He is a smart boy, already learning basic commands, and is learning to walk calmly on a leash too. When she gets the zoomies… watch out. . She tends to run over anything in her way. Chloe is up to date and spayed. She does have some allergies. She takes daily medication to help. She’s a white dog who loves to roll in the grass … it’s really cute when she does it.No kennel needed. She REALLY is not a fan of them. Chloe has some hip issues so no long walks or hiking needed. . She’s taking some preventatives to help  Her forever home would be best with older kids, smaller calmer dogs ok, no idea on cats?!? Give her a bone to chew and she’s happy!!More things I’ve learned about Chloe….  She doesn’t need a kennel… she needs bones to chew on and she’s so content all day while I’m working... She HATES storms and thunder and lightening…. She curled up next to me over night while the crazy rolled through... She loves chasing balls… but never really gets them... She is learning about routines and is eating so much better! She has a favorite soft and squishy blanket... She loves to nap on the back of the couch like a cat … a large playful cat... She loves to be outside but really loves to inside. Lays in front of the fan... She snores… not does she snoreShe would be perfect for a family that doesn’t need a crazy active dog. She has some hip issues that cause her to limp a bit. When she runs around, she gets sore (ps… so do I.. us older gals). Another dog would be good for her… she plays and uses her voice quite a bit.
