Posting to gauge interest in adopting Tank. He is in my care after his owner passed away. Tank is friendly, animated, and funny. He lived with an older man and a few feisty cats. He is low maintenance and a real couch potato, but enjoys occasional leash walks. Tank is currently with me in NY but will move to Tennessee soon. I’m willing to help with transport almost anywhere for the right home. Tank is up to date on shots and has excellent blood work. He’s allowed on beds and furniture and is spoiled. Tank has a mild skin/dander issue being managed with diet. He’d do best with someone home often and likely as the only dog. I haven’t seen separation anxiety, but he prefers human company. Meet Leonidas! Hi! My name is Leonidas, but all my friends call me Leo. I'm kind of a celebrity around here, but don't worry, it still hasn't gone to my head. I am one of the longest residents here at the Humane Society, I've been in their care since August of 2021. I'm an American Bulldog mix, and the birthday they helped me choose is 08/19/2016. Now that I've got the boring stuff out of the way, let me tell you about me! If you'll indulge me in bragging for a moment, I'll tell you I am one of the BEST huggers you will ever meet. I have never met someone who didn't melt right in my paws. If you give the right first impression, good luck stopping me from giving you a snuggle. I love a good treat, I mean who doesn't? My friends have taught me a lot of basic commands, and if you give me a reward or use a clicker I will listen for sure. I'm also a sucker for a good chew toy. Rubber balls and hard toys are my absolute favorite! My friends like to give me Kongs filled with peanut butter, and I can't get enough of those. I could chew on a good toy for hours, honestly! A couple of things you should know about me are my HUGE fear of storms, for one. Way back before I lived at the shelter, I was shot in the shoulder area and the thunder just reminds me of that way too much. I'm fine now from the gunshot, though, not even a scar! I also want to be the only pet in the home. Other dogs and cats are fun to think about, but I don't actually want to be anywhere near them. I think kids are pretty fun! I love to give them big hugs and kisses, but they should be old enough to understand my boundaries. I can get a nervous if you hold me too firmly, and I know some really little ones don't understand that yet. Leo is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee has been sponsored! Hello, I am a loving dog owner and have adopted many dogs in my life. I always prefer to adopt rather than buy a purebred. Unfortunately, due to the changes in our schedules at work, we have no other choice to re-home our dog. He has been with us since he was a puppy. We have loved him and taken excellent care of him for 16 years. He is a sweet dog that loves attention and sleeping in his bed. He is old and has numerous tumors on him but it still very active and has no issues eating or getting around. His rear legs sometimes will give out but not that often. I believe he has a form of doggy dementia where he forgets what he is doing and will roam the house until he gets settled. He has been an inside dog all of his life and is house broken but will sometimes have accidents because of his age. My wife and I hate to see him go but we will not be able to provide him with the care he needs and have no one to help us watch him when we are out of town for business. Thank you.
