Story
Looking for a new best friend? Meet Buddy—he’s been waiting for you! This plushie-carrying goofball lives up to his name in every way. Buddy is a sweet, quirky pup with a big heart and a love for toys, games, and making his people smile. He’s on the hunt for his furever Buddy—could it be you? Buddy loves fetch, sniffy adventures, and training games where he can show off his skills like sit, stay, and touch. He’s been working hard on his leash manners and is making great progress with fun pattern games and positive reinforcement. He’s also a fan of doggy playdates—especially with other pups who enjoy his bouncy, chase-and-wrestle style. Buddy is house-trained and thrives in a calm, consistent environment with lots of love and structure. He’s looking for a peaceful, adult-only home where he can relax, keep learning, and feel safe every day. If you’re ready for a loyal sidekick who carries a plushie like it’s a prized possession, Buddy might just be your perfect match. Come meet your forever Buddy!

Story
** Meet Heff – The Loyal, No-Nonsense Couch King ** At 7 years old and 90 pounds of Catahoula/American Bulldog charm, Heff is not here for the hustle. After losing his beloved person, Heff is looking for a soft landing spot—a calm, quiet home where he can enjoy his golden years in peace and comfort. Heff is the canine equivalent of a grumpy old man with a heart of gold. He’s the “get off my lawn” guy who just wants snacks, a nap, and a little peace and quiet. He’s not here for chaos, kids, cats, or canines—he wants to be your one and only. Heff thrives in a mellow environment with a low-traffic household and a fenced backyard where he can do what he does best: watch the clouds, judge the squirrels, and perfect his nap schedule. Don’t mistake his crusty charm for indifference. If you're his person, you're the center of his universe. Heff is a true Velcro dog—devoted, cuddly, and happiest by your side (especially if there are snacks involved). He's low-key, crate-free, and doesn’t need constant entertainment. In fact, he’d prefer you don’t have a revolving door of guests or an active social calendar. No athletes, please—Heff firmly believes all vigorous exercise should be watched from the couch. Heff’s dream match? A quiet, adult-only home with a fellow homebody who appreciates the finer things in life: A comfy sofa ** A well-timed snack ** Comfortable silence ** A yard for leisurely strolls ** No drama, no frills, just love Heff learns fast, could use a little leash work, and is okay being left out of a crate—just don’t forget the snacks. He swears they tie the whole room together. If you’re looking for a big-hearted, big-bodied, big-snoring best friend who will adore you with quiet intensity, Heff is ready to be your everything. Just bring the snacks. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/adopt/adoption-application/ then email Debbie@BigFluffyDogs.com. Our main website, www.bigfluffydogs.com has more information about us and the rescue process. NOTE TO EMAILERS FROM PETFINDER: WE DO NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL INQUIRIES WITHOUT AN APPLICATION. WE REGRET WE CANNOT RESPOND TO EVERY EMAIL, BUT UNLESS YOU FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, WE DO NOT KNOW YOU EXIST. All known information about an individual dog is provided in its listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters should understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be. Homes considering adopting a puppy must be prepared for 1.) Flexible schedules for potty training. Puppies can only hold it for one hour per month of age (i.e. a 4-month-old puppy can only go 4 hours without a potty break). 2.) Crate training until the puppy is at least one year old to prevent chewing on inappropriate things when you can't supervise. 3.) Socialization. The more positive and varying experiences as a puppy the better, both in and out of your home. 4.) Puppy behavior and life stages are equivalent to a human toddler. It takes at least a full year to have a calmer, well-adjusted dog. Patience is required and when your dog's behavior is a positive experience for you and those around you, your patience will be rewarded ten-fold, for years to come. Please do not consider adopting a puppy if you have not thoroughly thought through the pros and cons of having one. So many people end up returning them after 3-5 months because they didn't realize the amount of work involved in raising a puppy. Patience, appropriate toys, socialization, and obedience training are all musts. All are time-consuming and can be expensive. All dogs require supervision with children and obedience training. Adopters that want to have good dogs must be prepared to put the time and effort into training a dog. Any dog requires work and effort, but a well trained, well-socialized dog is more than worth the effort to get them there.

Story
Say hello to Calvin! Mr. Calvin here might be the Calvin to your Hobbes, he's so sweet! Calvin was given up by his finder to our rescue recently but he's in good hands. He instantly warmed up and got along with everyone here as soon as we got him. Calvin is a Beagle mix, he's a bit of a bigger boy with his stubby legs- kind of like a super solid beagle but isn't short. Calvin loves getting attention, he'll bump you with his head so you notice and pay attention to him! He'll need a bit of leash work but is very eager to get to work! That is what people notice most about Calvin, is his eagerness. He will need slow introductions to other people and animals as he can warm up to others slowly sometimes. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Bravo is my name, now that indicates two things- either, BRAVO!!! Great dog!! OR, Bravo that comes after Alpha and before Charlie. Phonetically speaking- it could be EITHER! I hail from the great city of Laredo, via the high kill pound they have. I did arrive at the rescue with my buddies Alpha and Charlie. Those two are LONG ago adopted, and I am STILL waiting! You know, it is ok because I need a very very special family and will wait for that family to come along... I am a nervous boy at first so will need a family who will give me time to get comfortable and play, I need a buddy to play with, a happy and outgoing, confident pup or dog. I have all kinds of fun to live, I have come SO far, now just need the right home to be my goofy and silly self. I will entertain you and give butterfly kisses to the best family EVER!! So hurry up and adopt me, I don't want to wait a SECOND LONGER!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)
