Story
Meet Pugsley! Pugsley is a 2-year-old bulldog/terrier mix bursting with charm, goofy energy, and an endless capacity for love. He’s the perfect match for an active family looking for a fun-loving, kid-friendly companion who thrives on adventure and connection. Pugsley is the ideal blend of playful enthusiasm and affectionate sweetness. He loves to run, play, and explore—whether he’s romping in the yard, joining you for long walks, or splashing in the water, one of his all-time favorite activities. He walks beautifully on a leash and brings enthusiasm to every outing, making him a wonderful walking or hiking buddy. At home, Pugsley is a delightful goofball. He’ll do an “alligator chomp” in the air to get your attention, spook himself with a trash bag blowing across the yard, or curl up next to you in the funniest positions. He is good with dogs of all sizes and enjoys having canine companions to play and relax with. Pugsley is incredibly loving and people-oriented. He’s fantastic with kids of all ages and quickly becomes a family favorite. He crates easily when no one is home and does best in a household with a yard and, ideally, another dog buddy. He would love to have a family that is home alot if he is the only dog. He is also cat friendly but may try to play with them. Pugsley is currently being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX. He loves sleeping in a bed with his family and sleeps soundly through the night. His quirks—like sleeping with his tongue sticking out and snoring softly—only make him more endearing. If you're seeking a joyful, affectionate, water-loving dog with tons of personality, Pugsley is ready to win your heart. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Hi everyone I recently got divorced and was forced to move out. Me and my Dog are couch-surfing at the moment. I really really need help and am looking for a family who would be able to take my dog in until I find my own place. This would absolutely be a temporary Foster home situation. I am not giving away my Dog. Please, please, please do not try and keep my Dog. There will be an official Contract that both parties will sign upon exchange of my furry baby. The contract will state that this is a temporary situation and that the Dog will need to be returned to the owner at any time requested. My dog is beautiful, smart, happy, silly, observant, protective and always hungry. I feed him RAW BEEF. I make brown rice, mix that with Sweet Yams, Green beans, Green peas and Chickpeas. The rice mix will be the base. Then you mix a little of the base with a little beef and thats his meal. If you are ever unable to make his food, you can just get the wet dog food from the store :) Thank You!

Story
Ford is an amazing dog. He listens great, is sweet and loving, and is super playful. He is extremely frisbee driven and knows commends, (Sit, Lay, Shake, Rollover, and he will even stay still and let you put a bone on his nose until you say ok) He wants to please us. Ideal fit would be someone with a large enough space, time, and energy to play frisbee often. Someone with a yard that has a 6' fence and does not have a way for him to get out. Ford does not like other dogs near his home or owners. However he does completely fine on neutral ground at the dog hotel. We have receive nothing but praise from him, they just keep him with the high energy dogs. Or someone who has lots of land in the country where he does not have access to other dogs. This dog is my buddy, I love him so much. The only reason we are looking to rehome him is we do not have a tall fence and he has jumped it a few times to get to my neighbors dog. I have a larger property and cannot put a 6' fence around it.

Story
We got Ivar from a friend that saved him from a questionable home when he was 9 months old. He is a very sweet boy that just wants lots of pets. He doesn't chew things or destroy furniture at all. He is pretty much a couch potato and loves to cuddle while we watch TV in the evening. We got him in 2021 and has been a perfect boy up until the last year or so. He has shown some aggression to a couple of friends visiting our home and has also become aggressive to one of our cats. We have two cats and he gets along fine with one of them. We wish he could find a home without children or other animals. We had him neutered in late 2025 hoping it would help with this newfound aggressiveness and thought it was helping but lately he has been more aggressive towards our cat and recently went after one of our friends that was simply trying to clean up a bowel movement he made in the house which is also extremely rare. He has never bitten anyone. He would be happier in a 1 pet environment.

Story
Jake is a real love. He is truly a companion dog. He just loves people. In fact, his favorite is to sit in the kitchen while you cook. Everything is better when Jake's around. He was rescued from California and has rebounded magnificently. He gets along with all the other dogs at the rescue and loves horses. He follows them around the ranch just like the old Texas cowboys used to do. He is current on all his vaccinations and heartworm negative. He is a very gentle dog and great on the leash. Nature trail anyone? Give us a buzz and let us introduce you to our sweet boy, Jake.May 23, 2024, 3:59 pm

Story
**Before applying for Rambo, please understand that he needs a child-free, very low-traffic home and a family ready to take things at his pace and not push him to do anything before he is ready. A willingness to continue to work with his ABR-approved trainer is an absolute bonus.**Silky soft and seal-like, we can't get enough of the gorgeousness that is RamboHe's the ooiest, cartooniest caricature of a dog, and we can not get enough of THAT FACE He's got a tough name because he came from some sh*t, but little guy is all lover and ready for a soft couch, a warm lap, and some cozy snuggle times with his furever family. He's been through it, so he's understandably a little wary of the world and needs a family who understands that he needs compassion and patience to adjust to a new home and new setting. Thanks to the compassion and devotion of his foster family, though, Rambo is finally ready to feel fully trusting of humans. We are seeing him transition into a happier, better-adjusted dog. We understand that he may struggle once he moves into a new adopted home. Change can sometimes do that to dogs who are sensitive like Rambo, so its very important that anyone wanting to adopt Rambo be ready to give him the space, structure, and compassion he needs to thrive. But, once he settles in, watch out; They better have their cuddle pants on Rambo was 100% someone's once; he is potty trained and walks beautifully on a leash. He's okay in a crate and has fantastic house manners. Rambo won't be a match for a home with kids; loud noises and unpredictability are not for Rambo.Like his namesake, he just wants a good meal, a simple life, and a safe, loving home. Rambo is heartworm positive, so he does need to stay close to our vets for his treatment.BUT, never fear, heartworm infection is easily treated and will not recur with regular prevention.ABR will cover the cost of this treatment and provide all guidance for his appointments and aftercare. To see more of our dogs, please go to https://austinbulldogrescue.com to see who is available and to learn how to get involved with ABR.

Story
Meet Petunia, the 3 year old Bull Terrier/Cane Corso mix whose infectious happiness lights up every room. This spirited canine is looking for her forever home and is overjoyed to be surrounded by her loving foster family. Petunia's perpetual joy is most evident when she sees her family, her tail wagging with boundless enthusiasm. One remarkable aspect of Petunia's story is her remarkable compatibility with other dogs. She effortlessly forges friendships with fellow canines, creating a harmonious atmosphere wherever she goes. Not just limited to her furry companions, Petunia is a natural around children of all ages, displaying a gentle and playful demeanor that makes her an ideal family pet. Despite a challenging start in life, Petunia's indomitable spirit shines through. Discovered in a field as a stray, she bore the scars of past hardships - two dislocated hips and a shattered left back ankle. Remarkably, these injuries had already healed, and Petunia now navigates her world with grace. Although surgery is deemed too risky, her resilience allows her to walk and even run, proving that love and care can overcome adversity. Beyond her physical strength, Petunia is a model of good behavior. House trained and affectionate, she revels in pets, cuddles, and the pure bliss of tummy rubs. Petunia's journey from a field to a loving home is a testament to her resilience, and she serves as an inspiration to all who cross her path. She is house trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated, & spayed. She is being fostered in Seguin, TX and is ready for her new home. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Ellie is an amazing dog and I am so sad to rehome her. We are moving (and unfortunately and heart breaking) we can't take her with us. I got Ellie from a rescue group when she was a puppy. She had been severely beaten (scars on her head and legs) and was deprived of food. Once she was healthy enough to adopt, she joined our family. She is absolutely wonderful with kids and gets along great with other dogs. She is not aggressive at all. In fact, she normally ends up cowering down to other dogs when approached. She is good on a leash, knows how to sit and stay. Understands verbal and hand commands as long as you continuously use them with her. She is very loving and enjoys hugs and affection. Ellie is 7 years old. She still has some energy in her, but mainly loves to sleep on her beds during the day (beds can be provided). I hope to find her a caring home where she can enjoy outside time and lots of love.

Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Meet Breaker – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! Breaker is a handsome Great Dane mix a little over a year old who is ready to find an active, committed family to call his own. At around 65 pounds, he’s a wonderful blend of big-dog presence and goofy puppy charm. Breaker is currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, but he can be transported to the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast United States for the right home. Breaker thrives on activity and he still has that classic puppy energy, so he’s looking for a family that understands the importance of positive correction, consistency, and continued training to help him grow into the best version of himself. With the right guidance, Breaker is eager to learn and please. One of Breaker’s favorite things in the world is going on adventures. He absolutely loves riding in the car and would be thrilled to tag along for hikes, outings, road trips, or any fun day spent exploring with his people. Water is another big favorite—splashing, wading, and cooling off are right up his alley. When playtime rolls around, Breaker is all in. He loves toys of all kinds and enjoys playing with dogs his own size. Most of all, Breaker wants to be with his people. He would happily spend the entire day with his family, whether that means being on the go or just hanging out together.
