Meet Brutus! We estimate he's an approximately 2-3 year old bully mix and a big sweetheart. So far he has great leash manners (and has only been a little jumpy to give extra affection). Sweet, affectionate, gentle, and friendly -- he just wants all the love and affection. He has also done well in introductions with other shelter dogs. A lovely volunteer did a brief cat evaluation, and Brutus actually did okay as well! I love car rides, running, playing with toys and back scratches! I’m also crate trained, sleep through the night and know basic commands like sit and lie down! Do you like going on long walks? I love them! I love human companions, snuggling and kisses. I just wish I had a family of my own. Volunteers here at Finally Home love playing with me and taking me on hikes! Hello, I’m Hazel, a 5-year-old American Bulldog mix with a white and tan coat and a big smile. I’m a playful and sweet girl who loves to have fun and cuddle with my people. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m house and crate trained, but I need some help learning to walk better on a leash. I get so excited to go for walks, and I’m very strong which means I can pull hard. I need an owner who can handle me and teach me some manners. I’m good with older children and other dogs, especially mellow ones. We don’t know how I feel about cats, but I can be cat-tested if you want. I have a lot of energy and I like to run around and play with balls. But I also like to relax and nap in my own space. I have a large kennel where I feel comfortable and safe. I don’t like to be outdoors for too long, I prefer to be inside with my people. I’m afraid of being abandoned, so I don’t like to go far from home. I have some digestive issues, so I need a special diet of lamb and rice. I also need to be crated when I’m not supervised, because I can chew on things. I’m a big girl, about 77 pounds, and I can be clumsy sometimes. I would not do well with small kids, because I might knock them over. But if you are used to large dogs, you will love me. I’m a gentle giant who just wants to be loved. I have a lot of potential and I’m ready to show you what a great dog I can be. I’m being fostered in New Kent, VA but I can be transported to other states for the right home. If you think you are the one for me, please fill out an application and let’s meet.
