Story
Hunny is a full bred American bully and has AKC paperwork. We got her when she was 3 months old. She is turning 2 in March and needs her last set of shots. She is healthy and energetic. She does ok with other dogs but tries to be the alpha. This does not go well with some dogs. She also is very territorial, she does not like other dogs in her crate or near her treats or food. She is very affectionate and loves being scratched petted or rubbed. She is house trained and knows the commands sit and lay down. She also likes to play fetch. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night and stays in it or her outdoor kennel for 8 hours when we are at work. She has not had any accidents as we have her on a bathroom schedule. She is very smart and learns easily in training with treats. Unfortunately our landlord is not allowing us to keep her because of her breed. We love her and want her to go to a good home. Serious inquiries only please.

Story
Once upon a time, a little baby bulldog was born, full of hope and wonder. They named her Cinderella. She’s seven years old now, sturdy, and built like a velvet ottoman with feelings. We’ll fast-forward through the part where she was mistreated, where her needs went unmet, because Cinderella doesn’t dwell in the past. We’ll start with the part where a kind lady (her fairy godmother?) rescued her and brought her to AAS - a step closer to being swept away by her Prince (or Princess) Charming.Cinderella has double cherry eye. She’s nearly blind and lives with constant discomfort. To help you write her next chapter, Animal Aid Society will cover the medical care necessary for her eyes. But if you’re imagining a sad, withdrawn dog, imagine again. Like any proper princess, Cinderella is beautiful inside and out. She absolutely adores humans. Her favorite activities include leaning against you with her entire body weight, arranging herself on a soft surface, and initiating cuddle sessions she has no intention of ending. If you attempt to stand up too soon, she’ll deploy her girth strategically. “Too soon,” in this case, means before she’s fallen asleep. Snoring magnificently. This Cinderella can’t rely on birds, mice, or other helpful woodland assistants to brighten her day. Because she’s blind and in pain, she can be anxious, and she needs to be the only pet in the home. No dogs. No cats. Just her and her person or people, living quietly and kindly, with predictable routines and a lot of affection. She’s not looking for a palace. She’s looking for a soft place to land, a steady human presence, and someone who understands that love sometimes means letting a bulldog fall asleep on you even when your leg has gone numb.If you believe happily ever afters can be quiet, warm, and a little bit snorty, Cinderella may be your enchanted princess. No glass slipper required. She would crush it.Animal Aid Society is located at 80 Butler Farm Road in Hampton. Visiting hours are from 9am to noon, including weekends and holidays.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
Hi there, I'm Jace, a white and brown bulldog mix. I'm 55 pounds and as sweet as ever. I love nothing more than to snuggle up next to somebody and get belly rubs and head scratches. I'm also smart and have been working on sit, down, and leave it. I could learn more commands as I'm a motivated learner. Anything for a treat! My favorite toys include a Kong filled with kibble or peanut butter, bones, and stuffed animals. I like to play fetch (although I don’t always want to give the ball back) and tug of war! I would do great as somebody’s best friend. I like to follow you around the house and chill with you. I’m a goober! I don’t quite understand my size and will try to sit directly in your lap just to be close. I'm working potty and crate training but walk great on the leash. I'm not good with dogs, likely out of fear rather than true aggression. I was chained in a yard for most of my life before I was rescued. I was nothing but skin and bones from starvation which has now caused me to guard my food. I love cats except if they come around my food. One side of my face will never fill in due to what the vet thinks is an old injury, but that doesn't stop me from being a cuddly lover. I am neutered and vaccinated. I was heartworm positive, but I've completed treatment. I'm currently in Hampton, VA but I can be transported out of state for the right home. Please note, there may be a transport fee if volunteer transport cannot be arranged. If you're looking for a loving companion, I'm here for you!

Story
Mello is a sweet boy that thinks he's a lap dog. We hate leaving him stuck in the house for 8 hours a day with only a cat companion. It's not fair to him, so we would like him to go to a loving family that is able to give him the love he deserves.

Story
💃🐾 Meet Coco Lopez — Serving Looks, Love, and Pure Joy 🐾💃 Coco Lopez is a 2–3-year-old, 50-pound, tan-and-white bulldog mix with fantastic ears, a smooshy face, and a signature pout that people usually pay good money for — and she’s giving it away for free. 😍 But Coco is more than just a pretty face. She’s the total package. This spayed, fully vetted girl walks beautifully on leash and absolutely loves being outside, taking in the world and soaking up every adventure. She’s extremely friendly, attentive, and very treat-motivated (fair warning: she appreciates efficiency — no long waits, please 😉). Coco is playful, goofy, outgoing, and full of personality. She’s enjoyed multiple free-play sessions with male dogs at the shelter and brings a flirty, rambunctious play style to the party — but she listens well and responds appropriately when things get a little too wild. She’s the kind of dog who keeps life fun and laughter-filled. Affectionate? Check. Social? Check. Fun-loving and unforgettable? Double check. Coco would thrive with an active adopter who enjoys walks, playtime, and a dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She may have too much interest in cats, so a cat-free home would be best. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you smile every single day, who loves hard, plays harder, and looks this good doing it — Coco Lopez is ready to steal your heart. 🏡 Available now at Hopewell Animal Services Come meet Coco — just don’t be surprised if you fall in love instantly. 💕🐶

Story
Even though Odie was abandoned by his previous family, he still loves people.  He gets along with other dogs and children.  He is high energy and hasn't learned to meet other dogs.  He can be a bit intimidating to other dogs.  His foster brother is a small 13 yr old rat terrier and Odie loves to sleep with him.  It takes a slow introduction for him to settle down.   If you want a hiking or camping buddy, Odie is your guy.  Playing fetch and tug are also favorite things that he likes.  He would love a family who would treat him like a family member.  .  He has already had his dental and is ready to start his new life as a family member.  If you are interested, please contact Rainbow Rescue at 757-472-1583 or rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.comNovember 3, 2024, 9:38 am
