Even though Odie was abandoned by his previous family, he still loves people.  He gets along with other dogs and children.  He is high energy and hasn't learned to meet other dogs.  He can be a bit intimidating to other dogs.  His foster brother is a small 13 yr old rat terrier and Odie loves to sleep with him.  It takes a slow introduction for him to settle down.   If you want a hiking or camping buddy, Odie is your guy.  Playing fetch and tug are also favorite things that he likes.  He would love a family who would treat him like a family member.  .  He has already had his dental and is ready to start his new life as a family member.  If you are interested, please contact Rainbow Rescue at 757-472-1583 or rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.comNovember 3, 2024, 9:38 am

This wonderful healthy girl needs to find a good home where she is the only pet. She is an american bulldog. We are her third owners. We got her from someone at work who was moving out of the state and having aggression issues between her and their cats. She is great with our two-year old daughter. No issues at all with people or kids. She does have aggression issues with our other dog though. She definitely needs to be in a single pet home. She is okay on a leash and does well with commands to focus during walks. She would be a wonderful addition to any home where she is the only pet.

BULLDOG FANATICS - HERE YOU GO!   BIG HEAVY - 2 years old, 100 pounds, good with some dogs & kids, house trained.  Big Heavy was surrendered when his owners were moving and couldn't take him.  He is known to be friendly and playful with kids over 6 years old.   He has not been around other dogs as we are told they can make him nervous.  Please bring in any resident dog and let's have a meet and greet! He might be ok with a calm and more respectful dog. In any case, please be ready to supervise.   Big Heavy is said to be kind, loving, and playful.   He is also smart, active, and loves to go on walks. He is used to going on 4 walks a day believe it or not! *His size does not really show this though. LOL Yep, he is a big boy. This lovely & spunky little lady here is Maeve! Maeve is a Bulldog & she unfortunately has been diagnosed with Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Disease associated with being a flat-faced breed. Due to the risk of the inflammation of her airway worsening(especially with stress, heat, etc.), any potential adopters will be required to have experience with brachycephalic breeds! While Maeve is quite food motivated(she loves her food!), she does have a history of GI issues. Being mindful of treats, not changing food too quickly or too often, reinforcing potty training & crate training are all going to be very important habits to ensure her successful transition to a home setting! Lastly, due to her spinal structure anyone interested in adopting would need to be ready for a potential for joint supplements sometime in her future to keep her mobility healthy & pain free! If you have any questions about Maeve or anything listed above, or if you would like to visit this sweet, lovely, & playful little lady here then our amazing Kennel Staff would be happy to assist!Maeve recently went on our holiday elf foster and did wonderful! She did well with the kids in the home and loved all the attention! Her foster reported only two potty accidents and that she was great with everyone! Maeve has been here at the shelter for some time and we would love to see Maeve find her forever family before 2026!

This handsome bean is Buddy! Buddy has been great with us here at the shelter. He was surrendered to us when his family was not able to care for him. Buddy is a very sweet boy and he would love nothing more than to be by your side as often as possible. He gets along great with other dogs. He has even made some friends here at the shelter.
