Story
Hunny is a full bred American bully and has AKC paperwork. We got her when she was 3 months old. She is turning 2 in March and needs her last set of shots. She is healthy and energetic. She does ok with other dogs but tries to be the alpha. This does not go well with some dogs. She also is very territorial, she does not like other dogs in her crate or near her treats or food. She is very affectionate and loves being scratched petted or rubbed. She is house trained and knows the commands sit and lay down. She also likes to play fetch. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night and stays in it or her outdoor kennel for 8 hours when we are at work. She has not had any accidents as we have her on a bathroom schedule. She is very smart and learns easily in training with treats. Unfortunately our landlord is not allowing us to keep her because of her breed. We love her and want her to go to a good home. Even though Odie was abandoned by his previous family, he still loves people.  He gets along with other dogs and children.  He is high energy and hasn't learned to meet other dogs.  He can be a bit intimidating to other dogs.  His foster brother is a small 13 yr old rat terrier and Odie loves to sleep with him.  It takes a slow introduction for him to settle down.   If you want a hiking or camping buddy, Odie is your guy.  Playing fetch and tug are also favorite things that he likes.  He would love a family who would treat him like a family member.  .  He has already had his dental and is ready to start his new life as a family member.  If you are interested, please contact Rainbow Rescue at 757-472-1583 or rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.comNovember 3, 2024, 9:38 am

Hello, I’m Hazel, a 5-year-old American Bulldog mix with a white and tan coat and a big smile. I’m a playful and sweet girl who loves to have fun and cuddle with my people. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m house and crate trained, but I need some help learning to walk better on a leash. I get so excited to go for walks, and I’m very strong which means I can pull hard. I need an owner who can handle me and teach me some manners. I’m good with older children and other dogs, especially mellow ones. We don’t know how I feel about cats, but I can be cat-tested if you want. I have a lot of energy and I like to run around and play with balls. But I also like to relax and nap in my own space. I have a large kennel where I feel comfortable and safe. I don’t like to be outdoors for too long, I prefer to be inside with my people. I’m afraid of being abandoned, so I don’t like to go far from home. I have some digestive issues, so I need a special diet of lamb and rice. I also need to be crated when I’m not supervised, because I can chew on things. I’m a big girl, about 77 pounds, and I can be clumsy sometimes. I would not do well with small kids, because I might knock them over. But if you are used to large dogs, you will love me. I’m a gentle giant who just wants to be loved. I have a lot of potential and I’m ready to show you what a great dog I can be. I’m being fostered in New Kent, VA but I can be transported to other states for the right home. If you think you are the one for me, please fill out an application and let’s meet.
