Story
Meet the charming Remy, believed to be around 6 years old and discovered as a stray. This 35-pound brindle bulldog is an absolute sweetheart with a gentle and quiet demeanor. Remy is fully vetted, microchipped, and ready to embark on a new chapter in a loving fur-ever home. All he desires for Christmas and the New Year is a caring family to call his own. Dog-friendly and people-friendly, Remy yearns for someone to love him and provide the stability he deserves. Despite having once belonged to someone, he found himself alone and unwanted, perilously close to being euthanized when our rescue intervened. Now, the focus is on finding Remy the perfect forever-loving home where he can thrive. If Remy has captured your heart and you are interested in offering him a home, please visit our website: https://Serendipityanimalrescue.org for more information, application, or to make an inquiry.

Story
Meet Maxwell, a charming in need of rescue. His journey with us began when he was surrendered by his previous owner, through no fault of his own. Maxwell boasts a delightful history of coexisting harmoniously with both children and dogs of all sizes. However, we recommend a child-free environment due to his tendency to be a tad jumpy and nervous, especially when encountering new people. Maxwell's previous family described him as a big, goofy, and immensely playful companion. Additionally, he has proven himself to be well-trained in both housebreaking and crate use. He's capable of peacefully free-roaming when left alone, with no adverse incidents. Despite his endearing qualities, Maxwell is currently experiencing a degree of unease in the shelter environment, away from the only family he's ever known. New faces and the presence of other dogs passing by his kennel have understandably heightened his anxiety. Our dedicated behavior team has devised a plan to place him in a quieter section of the shelter, although it is apparent that the current setting is less than ideal for this sensitive fellow. During his stay with us, Maxwell has gradually opened up, revealing the same lovable, goofy personality that endeared him to his previous owners. Yet, he remains cautious when meeting new people. In our care, he has engaged in playgroups and demonstrated positive interactions with other dogs, though he tends to prefer calmer canine companions, as those with high energy levels can sometimes overwhelm him. This endearing pup is longing for a safe and loving environment where he can thrive. __________________________________________________ If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Melo completed a 3-week positive reinforcement board and train with a private trainer. During that time, he was challenged more to listen and carry out commands when told and without the need for treats.  Melo perfected better leash walking skills and all the basic commands (sit, down, watch me, leave it, stay, a release command, wait and come). Melo is now comfortable being in a crate with a simple command “crate” to go in and out with ease. Melo is very smart and learns quickly. He knows now though that the true reward is pleasing the person giving the command (a treat here and there is still nice and appreciated).  Melo would be an excellent choice for a companion for an owner who has high goals and expectations for their dogs.   During Melo’s board and train, he had the opportunity for lots of socialization with other dogs. After proper introductions and now using an “easy” command, Melo knows how to better socialize with other dogs. Melo’s adopter will need to remember that he is still a young dog who is working on perfecting his doggy body language reading skills. Melo would prefer to have a companion that is close to his size, but not needed as he does love human affection. Melo also has met some kitties. He did very well for testing, it would depend on the kitty as a dog savvy cat would do best as Melo likes to make friends by sometimes being vocal and we don't want to scare off any new kitty friends.  Melo has been around children of various ages and has done well with all of them. Because Melo is still young and has moments of excitement, especially when he hears children, we are recommending older children who are steady on their feet.  Melo is an energetic youngster who would enjoy living with an active family. His energy would make him an excellent running partner (with some training), hiking buddy or dedicated, long distance walking partner.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 4, 2024, 5:50 pm

Story
Spencer is a  3 year old Bulldog/Lab mix weighing 75 pounds .  He is housetrained.   We feel Spencer would be best in a  home where he will not be faced with frequent visitors or traffic in the home, He is a lovely companion, extremely loyal, has never shown aggression of any sort towards the current owners and their kids. Spencer is special needs because he has been diagnosed with Addison's disease (controlled with medication) and has behavioral issues.  (posted 6/19/23 R) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience.   Adoption and transport fees: $250 May 3, 2024, 4:34 pm

Courtesy listing Maggie is from TX and now in VA available for adoption. She is fully vetted and is negative for heartworm (she has been tested twice 11 months apart and should stay negative for life if kept on prevention.) She is a sweet dog but a little shy and scared of life. She needs an adopter willing to give her support and encouragement as she settles into a new home. She is very quiet and crates well. She prefers to potty in the same area on walks so should be easy to have in a yard environment as well. She is good with other dogs and has shown no aggression towards cats but hasn’t lived with any.

Story
Fontana is available for immediate adoption in Warrenton Virginia She is a 4-5 yr old Boxer mix. Around 55 lbs she is fully vetted. Has been in foster care for nearly a year. She has been fully treated for heartworm and has a recent completely negative 4DX test. She is incredibly friendly and social with humans and dogs. She has shown NO aggression towards cats, horses or cows while in her foster home. She is great in a car, brave and friendly in new places. Crates fine and has spent a lot of time working on her leash skills but is still best in a prong collar as she can still pull some. She is very reliable off leash with a good recall and no desire to wander off. She kennels with a male and another female of similar size and age and they all share food, water, beds and chews with no issues. She would love to find her forever home so please share her. https://form.jotform.com/hailmaryrescue/hail-mary-rescue-adoption-applicati Her adoption fee has been sponsored ❤️❤️
