Story
Happy’s a fine Pit mix of 1 to 2 years old.  One day he wandered into his present owner’s yard, with a padlock on his collar which probably means that he had spent the early part of his life chained with little or no interaction with other dogs or humans.  The family took him in, but have found that he’s just too much for them to handle.  He’s a boy of 55 pounds, and he needs lots of exercise.  His family takes him on 4 to 5 walks a day, but he has problems with other dogs so he is muzzled for each walk.  However, he loves to play with people, and he warms up as soon as he gets to know you. Small children and other dogs or cats, though, wouldn’t be a good idea.  He does know basic commands and picks up on things quickly as he is quite intelligent. He’s also house trained and crate trained. Happy has made great progress with his present family, but they don’t feel they can provide him with everything he still needs.  Happy is definitely a dog with potential, but he needs a more experienced owner who could fulfill that potential.  He’s a sweet boy who deserves the kind of life that only that special and experienced person can give him.  (posted 7/11/21, CP)   **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00  May 1, 2024, 3:47 pm

Story
This sweet baby land seal has been in rescue for OVER A YEAR! It’s way past time to get this stinker into his forever home! We get told a lot that he has sad eyes, and it’s clear he had a rough start in life by all the scars on his legs and head. But despite all that, William is one of the happiest, goofiest, (and weirdest tbh) dogs we’ve ever met! William will need to go somewhere with a fenced yard, because he has to be running at full speed to poop. If you scratch his butt just right, he’ll dance for you. He loves other dogs, and will cling to them instantly. Tennis balls = LIFE. William does get a little too excited to make friends with / toys out of cats, so kitties are a no go. William wants to be someone’s biggest cheerleader. Everything you do will be the best thing ever to him, and while he’s always down to party, he’s also a fantastic cuddler. Help make 2024 William’s year! William is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and scheduled to be neutered. Story
Meet Curtis! A 6 year old, sweet hunk of love AND a certified house hippo! He loves to cuddle, give kisses, and play gently with his stuffies. Curtis has lived with cats and is a complete gentleman with them! And when it comes to other dogs, he loves to make friends! Because of his size, we recommend no kids under 10 years of age. Curtis is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He's house trained, crate trained, and sits on command! Curtis loves everybody, but seems to bond to men a little more and would make a great partner in crime for a single man looking for a best buddy. Curtis loves to explore his yard and sunbathe, so a fenced in yard would be best but is not required as long as you're dedicated to walking him and giving him outside time! If you're interested in meeting this chunky money, apply with the link below. He'd love to meet you! https://forms.gle/ZPDUTvqWPxSWFZfp6

Story
Hello everyone. My name is Jaxon. My birthday is on January 7th. I was rescued as a stray by Animal Control and brought to Second Chance Shelter in Boaz Alabama on January 7, 2021. I have been at the shelter since I was a year old . I want to be the King of the house so I need to be the only dog. I love people and giving them all kinds of lovings. If you are looking for a dog to give unconditional love and attention, I'm the furbaby for you. I know how to sit, on occasion, and I can wait pretty patiently for my food. My friends here at the shelter love to visit me and I trade kisses for treats. I think I am pretty good at giving kisses.
