I’m Axel a playful, friendly, curious, happy, 1-year-old Staffordshire Terrier. I am quite handsome with beautiful cream and tan markings and soft eyes. I listen quickly to `down and sit` commands and am looking for a person to be my friend, coach, trainer and pack leader to provide routine structure for me, calmness, loving touch, and planned outlets for my playfulness. I am a puppy who easily attaches to people, absolutely melts for cuddles, rubs, and all the affection you can share.I am fun to play with and do not react to other dogs with barking. I am a fetch champion and will run with one ball in my mouth to eagerly get to a second ball. A home with access to an enclosed yard would be great. I was recently adopted and returned to the shelter as I don`t get along with cats, who knew? I need to be the only dog in your home without small pets. I am an entertaining dog that likes to do fun things. I get a goofy smile on my face when I am happy and that is most of the time. I am becoming a calm dog and as a young dog, I am looking forward to finding someone special to bond with me.I am microchipped, up to date on vaccines, neutered and I am good on a leash, house trained, and a true love bug.If I sound like a fantastic addition to your active lifestyle, please come a spend some time with me. Her Name is Atlas, a beautiful pit terrier/mini Aussie mix. Seems to have some Albino traits (not considered Albino) along with her red spots. Very loyal and loves HER humans, but not other humans. She's been trying to fight with the rest of the dogs in our pack. Yorkie, 3 labs, and a toy Aussie. Her natural pit instinct is taking over, we've tried training, and socializing. Atlas needs humans who only want one extremely loyal companion. A great dog, is house, kennel, and bell trained, for potty. Sleeps in her kennel knows "bed" when it's time to sleep, "dinner" for meals, sit, and paw. She doesn't mind baths or getting her nails done. Loves to cuddle, yak cheese, treats and has a set dinner time at 7am and 7pm. Only 1 year old but we cannot keep her we have 5 other dogs that matter also. Atlas is an emotional girl, when you talk to her sternly it seems much more effective than any physical deterrent. Once she warms up to humans they're hers!Has Heart murmer, chipped, Spayed, Shots.

Chad is such a sweet & shy dog who came from a rough past and he's just now learning that humans can be kind. He has slowly been making progress at the shelter, but he really needs a home & committed family to continue his training & socialization. What we know: -Shy but very food motivated. Treats & meal time is the way to his heart to help him bond with his family. -Gets along with some dogs, but he gets picked on by a lot of dogs here at the shelter :( He would love a friendly dog friend to show him the ropes and play with him. -Working on potty training, crate training, leash walking etc. He will need your support & love to master these in a home! -He would love a confident, experienced dog owner to help him learn & grow! -Unknown how he is with kids or cats. But we would recommend no young kids due to his fearful nature. Come meet me at High Country Humane located at 11665 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. Our shelter is open Thursday–Tuesday, 11am–5pm, and closed on Wednesdays. Adopting with High Country Humane means your new pet is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped (we register it for free!). Each adoption also includes a free health exam. Please bring a leash and collar with you or plan to purchase here. We can’t wait to help you meet your new furry friend!
