Our team worked their wonders and had a fantastic foster step up to help him with his care. Now he can walk and run, just has a little wobble to his walk. Eddie loves other dogs and requires a home with one. He has a slightly enlarged heart and will be a special needs boy for life, however long that life may be. He loves people and going on walkies! Cats are a hard bargain with him. Some don`t bother him and some he likes to chase after. He absolutely adores kids! I adopted her around 8 weeks old from a shelter. She is a very high energy and lovable pup, but with that needs lots of attention. She loves going to the dog park so gets along well with other dogs easily. Her favorite thing to do is play tug o' war. She loves exploring so daily walks were always our thing. Shes definitely gets bored easily though, combine that with being a chewer we go through toys quickly. She has had some training classes. She knows basic commands. She is easily excited and does still nip sometimes. She is very protective, loyal, and cuddly when she calms down. I want her to go to a bigger home, one with a yard for her to run, kids for her to play with. I want a family who has time for her, perhaps another dog for a friend. I want her to be as loved as she is here but with more room and space to be her wild and crazy self. She's a handful, but a lovable one.

Walks well on leash. We do our very best in providing truthful information about our adoptable dogs. If you do not see information about one of our dogs’ personalities, it is because we do not know much about them yet. We do appreciate a dog meet and greet to see if the dogs are compatible, an appointment is helpful but not required. We can complete a cat introduction at the shelter in a safe manner to get a sense of the dog’s behavior towards cats. With that knowledge, we will provide a blanket statement that you are ultimately responsible for keeping your cat safe. We recommend crate training for all our dogs while they adjust to a new home environment. Please bring along your family to meet the dog you’re looking at to see that it is a good fit. Location: Minneapolis, MN If you are looking for a pup with a lot of love and a lot of wiggles, Jillian is your girl. With big, beautiful amber eyes, Jillian’s personality easily shines through. While she is a huge sweetheart, she does need continued boundary work as she thinks the best way to let others know she loves them and wants to play is to get right up into their personal space! Fortunately, she is a little smarty pants and is picking up on cues and commands very quickly. Jillian is also continuing to improve with crate training even if she will default to a dramatic puppy flop before walking into the crate willingly. Her progress is best with the help of treats as bribes! We have learned that when crated, she does a lot better in a high-traffic area as she seems to relax when she is able to see what is going on around her. She does cry a bit when crated, but only because she has a serious case of FOMO, but appears to be calming more quickly as time goes on. While Jillian has not been left alone for long periods of time in the house, during the short bouts, she has done really well and usually is just lounging on the sofa. Jillian is primarily potty-trained but sometimes seems to “forget” she can’t just pee wherever is most convenient; with that being said, accidents are becoming more and more uncommon. She does very well with potty prompts and will wait for someone to accompany her when she needs to pee outside but doesn’t hesitate to explore once she is there. Since we are still gauging her overall reactiveness and recall, we always keep an eye on her in the backyard even though it is fenced in. Jillian has a lot of energy, is outgoing, and loves to play with both four-legged friends and humans. She does have a high prey-drive and would do best in a house that does not have any other pets aside from dogs. Jillian is also taking several walks a day to work on her leash skills and catching on really quickly - we are learning to “leave it”, “wait”, and “eyes” (when needing her attention); she tends to crowd and pull on the leash so we are also working on side by side walking and pressure commands with the leash. With patience and consistency, she will no doubt continue to improve. Most days, Jillian will be out playing in the backyard with her foster brother Meeka, a husky, taking walks through the neighborhood, playing with her squeak toys, getting all the pets, and curled up on the couch or dog bed taking a nap. In just a short amount of time, Jillian has learned both the verbal and nonverbal signals for “sit”, “wait”, “hands in”, and “lie down”. While we haven’t done tons of car rides, she seems very interested in hopping in whenever the car door is open. She is eager to learn and very treat-motivated! Jillian is a sweet, playful, and loyal pup who is looking for a loving, active family to grow with.
