Hello! I'm Millicent, a 1 year old, bouncy terrier mix. Me and my sister (Marjorie) were transferred to Paws and Claws Humane Society from the Owatonna Police Department. We were picked up as a stray's there and never claimed. While I do play well with my sister, we are not bonded and can be adopted separately. I have so much fun zooming in the yard and I love my people! I enjoy jumping up on people in a dire attempt to lick their face. However, I am told not everyone likes me licking their face so my new family will need to work on some manners with me. My ideal family will take me on adventures and give me plenty of time to play and run as I burn off my puppy energy! I seem to do well with other dogs. I have not been cat tested. If I sound like I could be your perfect fit, apply today! My adoption fee is $300 + $30 microchip fee + tax

We were picked up as a stray's there and never claimed. While I do play well with my sister, we are not bonded and can be adopted separately. I love my toys, playing with my sister, and of course getting all the pets from my people! I cannot contain my excitement and it makes me jump all over the place! However, I am told most people like a doggo to remain with all four feet on the ground, so my new family will need to help me learn this technique. I have not been cat tested though at this time. If I sound like I would be the perfect fit for you, please apply today! Story
Meet Blaire! This sweet, adorable pup has never had a home of her own and she is determined to find one. Her fur is as soft as silk, and it is a beautiful coppery, dark chocolate coat. Blaire recently made the long trek north from Oklahoma to Wisconsin with a rescue. She has settled comfortably into her new foster home in Fountain City, Wisconsin, without so much as a hiccup. She is now patiently waiting for . . . YOU . . . her forever, to find her and make her a loved and permanent member of your family. Blaire’s foster mom says this pup is just too darn easy. Rain, shine, sleet, or snow, Blaire does her business outside. She hasn’t had a single accident inside. She also sleeps the entire night, without incident, in her crate. Blaire is a bashful, shy pup, but once she gets to know you, she is all wiggles and kisses. She plays well with the resident dog and adores her toys and bones. Blaire loves to snuggle. Plastered tightly up to her human or on top of her foster brother are two of her favorite places. Sit, down, stay and come are commands she is working on. Blaire is young, intelligent, and treat motivated, so she’d be easy to train to fit perfectly into your family. Are you ready to meet this sweet pup? If so, fill out an application to meet/adopt her at wwwtailsofhopewi.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rowen came to us on 4/23/2022 from our friends at the Rescue Network after he was rescued from a reservation in South Dakota. He's now a long term resident who's been overlooked, which is a shame. Having been with us for so long, one of our volunteers was curious about his breed mix and decided to find out with a dog DNA test. He's a pit bull mix with about a quarter of German shepherd and his appearance does hint at these results. He's a big boy who's aged out of puppyhood, but is still a lot of fun and likes to play hard. Rowen loves people and would be a great walking/running companion. Rowen is fully vetted and his $125 adoption fee is sponsored. Rowen is doing really well with basic training but does forget his manners sometimes. He needs someone who is willing and able to provide him with the exercise he needs, along with consistent training and boundaries. He is strong and active. He's a happy and outgoing dog with a slight mischievous streak that is kinda endearing. Cats? Most likely a no for him. He's looking for an adult only home. Teens are fine. He will require regular exercise to keep him happy and well balanced. Watch a TikTok video featuring Rowen below! https://www.tiktok.com/@happy.critter.ranch/video/7204912518278565163 NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 27, 2024, 10:57 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rudy, aka Rootin'Tootin'Rudy and the Rudinator, came to the shelter as an owner surrender on 11/6/2022. The woman had originally found him as a stray in a rural area. She was going to keep him as no owner was located. She decided that Rudy was just too energetic and strong for her to handle. He does have a slight impairment when it comes to his eyesight, perhaps due to an injury he sustained at one time or maybe a genetic thing. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $125. Nothing slows Rudy down. He's a happy and rambunctious dude who literally bounces through life. He will need a lot of basic training and exercise. He keeps his kennel clean at the shelter. An adult only home would be best for Rudy (teens are okay). He is looking for a home with no other animals. A fenced yard would rock Rudy's world! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alma is a pit bull type dog in the age range of 5 years who has had quite the history with us. In 2020, at around a year old, we first received her from the city pound after she was held there and never claimed by an owner. She was with us for over a year and was adopted in January 2022. Her owner's situation changed drastically in 2023, so Alma was returned in July 2023 after 18 months in her home. It was hard for both of them, as Alma (known in her home as "Pretty"), was very loved by her owner.  Alma did very well in her home. It was a fairly quiet environment with just Alma and the lady who adopted her. Alma did tend to be pretty protective of her person as it was just the two of them. We do think she would do best in a similar environment. She does seem to respond best to women. She's looking for an adult only home (teens are okay). No other animals. Alma is strong and active and will require regular exercise. Many of our volunteers have a soft spot for her and would like to see her get back into a home for good. She has been fully vetted and her fee is $125. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Story arrived as an owner surrender on 10/4/2023, when she was still under a year old. Before she came to us, she'd already been through several homes that didn't give her stability or everything she needed. We named her Story because she already had quite the story to her life for such a young dog. She is shy, but our volunteers have been working with her. She's a petite pit bull type mix, maybe with lab and other breeds. Her fee is $150 and she has been vet checked, spayed, and chipped. Story does need basic training. She hasn't had a lot of work on leash walking but is slowly getting the idea. She's looking for a somewhat calm home in which she won't be left alone for long hours. She needs someone who is ready, willing, and able to work with her on proper socialization and confidence. She is doing really well with other dogs and is gaining confidence. We're thrilled with her progress! Cats? We're not sure. Kids over 10 would be best. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ingrid is a friendly and stocky pit bull type gal with a beautiful brindle coat. She arrived on 10/23/2023 as she was found "stray", if not abandoned, at a local park. She was never claimed by an owner after fulfilling the legal hold time with us. She is 2+ years old and not too large, at around the 50 pound mark. She has been vet checked and spayed and her fee is $125. Ingrid enjoys the company of people. She would do best in an experienced adult only home (teens should be fine). We do feel that she would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Story
It's me, Maizey. I know I am not the youngest dog here. I am probably not the prettiest dog here. I am definitely not the smallest dog here. But, I am one of the easiest dogs here! Some even call me Lazy Maizey. I spent the first 8 years of my life tied upoutside and got a really bad skin condition that no one ever took care of. An angel asked the people on the other end of the chain if she could take me and get me help. Then, she brought me here to Paws and Claws. Now, my skin is good, and I had my teeth and ear taken care of. I am all fixed up. I am 8 years old, but I still have some living to do! I hope someone comes soon to get me so I can make up for lost time. I dream of going on slow strolls, rolling in the grass, and get snuggled.Give a girl a second chance?~ MaizeyThis is girl is Maizey. Really, she is A-Maizey-ing. Maizey was relinquished to a rescue partner in horrible condition. She was malnourished, and her skin was raw and infected. Maizey has spent over a month with us receiving medications, special baths, high quality food, and close veterinary care. She thrived on the attention and TLC our staff and volunteers bestowed upon her. Healed in body and spirit, Maizey now hopes to find a caring family in her golden years. She is a gentle girl, but still a delightful playful streak. A Beautiful girl is awaiting a lucky family. ***I do not seem to be a fan of other dogs, and will likely not be good with cats. It is recommended I be the only pet in the home.***Adoption fee $200 + $30 microchip fee + tax
