Story
Starlit is a happy, friendly girl! She had a bit of a rough past so she's looking forward to a brighter future! Tennis balls seem to be her favorite toys! From her foster "Starlit is very shy and timid at first but once she gets to know you she is the sweetest girl. She loves to cuddle in the bed or on the couch and takes naps. She also has a fun side with some explosive energy! She loves her ball and frisbee and to play tug of war with her rope! She’s still learning how to control her energy when she’s playing so will nip and jump but she’s learning so fast!"

Story
Glizzy—affectionately known as “GG”—is a sweet, loyal girl who has quickly stolen the hearts of everyone who’s met her. Her favorite activities? Snuggling on the couch, following her nose on walks, and showing off how smart she is (treats definitely help!). She knows sit, down, leave it, and even waits for an “OK” before diving into her meals. She’s house-trained, kennel-trained, and loves having a cozy spot to nap while you work or relax. Glizzy is an absolute people-lover. She greets visitors like old friends and enjoys being part of the action without being overwhelming. Her perfect day includes a short walk, a squeaky toy or two, and curling up beside you for a nap. Because of her strong prey drive and reactivity toward other animals, Glizzy would do best as the only pet in the home. She’s also best suited to a home without babies or toddlers, but older kids and adults will adore her sweet and affectionate nature. Glizzy does have a serious heart condition called severe subaortic stenosis, which unfortunately means her life expectancy is shorter than average (most dogs with her condition don’t live beyond age 3). She takes medication to help her heart and is doing great in her foster home, but her adopter will need to continue her care and understand her limitations.

Story
Hi, my name is Steevie. I'm a sweet, silly, stinky boy who can't wait to find my forever home! My hobbies include the art of dance, growing my sweater collection, giving sweet, slobbery smooches and getting run over by cars. I hobbled into CMHS with a hind leg that was pretty much just a bunch of loose bone chips with some fuzz on top. My leg is pretty much bionic at this point and I am supposed to stay off of it for a few more weeks while it heals. If I'm being honest though, I haven't really been putting much effort into R&R. You see, I like to pick up my healthy back leg to pee, so I have to put all my weight on my broken leg to do that. Also, as I had mentioned previously, I love to dance. The orthopedic dog surgeon wants to have me come in for a few more x-rays to make sure that everything continues to heal correctly since I've kind of been a nut through this whole process. If I find my forever home before those x-rays are scheduled, my new family will just drop me off at CMHS on the day of my appointment and the vets there will take care of me (this will be covered by my adoption fee, so you don't have to worry about all that). Since I'm supposed to be resting, I haven't gotten to get out into the world much. When I first came to CMHS, I was pretty scared and shut down. New people were scary and I found a lot of things to be overwhelming. I've really come out of my shell in my foster home and am learning that I won't get in trouble for being silly or playing with toys. My foster mom won't let me get too goofy with my foster siblings yet while my leg is healing, but I have met several other dogs and I've gotten along really well with all of them. I don't like it when dogs that I don't know bark at me, though. It kind of stresses me out, but I'm getting braver every single day. I have been working really really hard on my manners and know how to sit, lay down and touch. I don't get very long walks because of my leg, but I work on my leash skills every time I go out to go potty. My foster mom says that I'm a fast learner and that with continued training, I will be a rockstar!
