She's a pro at the art of lounging but equally enthusiastic about exploring new places, especially if it involves a thrilling car ride. Story
Meet Hannah Hannah is a gentle senior pit bull with a heart full of love and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. After spending nearly three years in a rural shelter, she’s finally getting the safety and care she deserves and she’s making the most of every moment. Hannah’s favorite place is right by your side. Whether you’re working, relaxing, or doing chores, she’ll happily and quietly keep you company, soaking in your presence. She thrives on connection and does best with someone who is home often. Hannah can feel anxious when left out or alone, so a patient adopter who can provide a consistent routine and a cozy, secure space for her when needed will help her feel safe and settled. She can be selective with other dogs and prefers calm companionship over high-energy play. A mellow senior male dog may be a good match with slow, thoughtful introductions, but she’d also be perfectly content as your one-and-only. Her history with cats and kids in unknown but due to her loving nature we think she would do just fine with older kids ( 10+). Hannah does have some mobility challenges due to arthritis and elbow dysplasia, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life. She loves gentle daily walks and especially enjoys her stroller rides when she gets tired. She’s currently on pain medication and joint supplements, and we’ve already seen encouraging improvements in her strength and comfort. Soon, Hannah will undergo surgery to remove some concerning masses, along with a much-needed dental procedure. While her long-term prognosis is still uncertain, one thing is clear Hannah loves life, and she deserves to spend her days surrounded by warmth, kindness, and care. If you’re someone who believes in giving senior dogs the love and dignity they deserve, Hannah will reward you with quiet devotion and endless companionship. She’s ready to spend her golden years in a home where she can truly belong. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! Lestat was found on 5/15/26 at 925 West Main Street in Cottage Grove. He came into the shelter already neutered. If you believe this is your missing dog, please contact the shelter at (541) 689-1503. Since this dog is new to the shelter and we are still looking for their family, they are not viewable on the adoption floor at this time. The shelter staff is giving me some time to settle in and adjust to this new place. As we get to know each other a little better, the behavior team and veterinary staff will then be evaluating my needs. Please stay tuned for my updated information! Our shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable and for most dogs we are only guessing at their primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road, Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. Story
Hello, I`m Sailor! I`m about 2 years old and weigh roughly 67 pounds.I`m eligible for Greenhill`s Foster-to-Adopt Program! Through this program, you can foster me to see if we are a good match before committing to an adoption. Canine program staff can tell you more and you can learn more about this program here: www.green-hill.org/foster-to-adopt.Do you like...Dogs? I have met several dogs at the shelter and done well. I`m a bit of a rough and tumble player so they should match my energy. I need to meet any potential doggie family members before going home with them.Cats? It is unknown how I would do with cats. With a slow, proper introduction I might do well.Kids? I`m a fairly nervous guy when meeting new people so older kids who understand to respect my space would make me feel more comfortable. Recommended kids 10+.Anything else you`d like us to know, Sailor? I tend to bond really strongly to one person and would do best with someone who is looking for best friend material.I came into the shelter as a transfer and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I`m looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Meet Breaker – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! Breaker is a handsome Great Dane mix a little over a year old who is ready to find an active, committed family to call his own. At around 65 pounds, he’s a wonderful blend of big-dog presence and goofy puppy charm. Breaker is currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, but he can be transported to the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast United States for the right home. Breaker thrives on activity and he still has that classic puppy energy, so he’s looking for a family that understands the importance of positive correction, consistency, and continued training to help him grow into the best version of himself. With the right guidance, Breaker is eager to learn and please. One of Breaker’s favorite things in the world is going on adventures. He absolutely loves riding in the car and would be thrilled to tag along for hikes, outings, road trips, or any fun day spent exploring with his people. Water is another big favorite—splashing, wading, and cooling off are right up his alley. When playtime rolls around, Breaker is all in. He loves toys of all kinds and enjoys playing with dogs his own size. Most of all, Breaker wants to be with his people. He would happily spend the entire day with his family, whether that means being on the go or just hanging out together.
