Story
Ellie is alittle over a year old, purebred pit bull who has been living with me since September 15th. She came to me from a family who was moving away and could not take her with them, and Ive been fostering her on my own alongside my animals. Ellie is a big lover girl. Shes great with kids, gets along well with my pets & others, has a playful, affectionate personality. At first the kennel seemed more dangerous then good, with some work she is now good with it! She is very good with a shock collar, I use beep and vibrate only usually! Ellie received her shots/microchipped on November 22nd and WILL BE fixed January 8th at the SPCA Clinic & get her dog license, making her ready for her forever home!

Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children 14 years and older.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Goose – From Shut Down to ShineWhen Goose first came to the shelter, he was a different dog—unsure of people, defensive, and deeply wary of human touch. Thanks to the patience, consistency, and love of staff and volunteers, Goose has blossomed into a joyful, affectionate, and downright irresistible companion. Now? This boy throws himself into your arms for snuggles, politely takes treats, and loves showing off his commands—“sit,” “boop,” and more. On walks, he’s an attentive, enthusiastic partner who checks in often, even if he sometimes pulls when something exciting catches his nose. Some of Goose’s Best Qualities:-A true snugglebug who leans in close for affection-Knows his commands and is eager to please-Energetic, playful, and always up for fun-A happy, attentive walker who loves adventures-Improving every day in play manners with other dogsHe’s not without quirks—he may chase his tail when overstimulated, or get a little too excited during play—but he’s learning to self-regulate and signals clearly when he needs a break. With guidance and continued structure, Goose thrives.Goose Would Do Best In a Home With:-Kids 14+ who can handle his size and energy-Possibly another dog—one who can keep up with his playful, high-energy style-A family who will celebrate his goofy, affectionate spirit and continue his journey of growthAt 4 years old and 71 pounds, Goose is the best of both worlds—mature enough to know his manners, but young enough to keep life fun and full of energy. And just look at him—those bright eyes, big smile, and handsome brindle coat say it all.Goose has already proven that with love and patience, he can bloom. Now he’s ready to do the same in a forever home.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Goose is an energetic and playful dog who has shown improvement with the help of staff and volunteers. He tends to pull on the leash when eager to reach certain objects or scents but walks pol

[The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal: Meet Fog – Smart, Sensitive, and Seriously CuteFog is a six-year-old medium-sized American Pit Bull Terrier mix with huge heart, even bigger smarts—and one adorably bent ear that never quite straightens out. He’s been with us long enough to show his full personality: sweet, sensitive, slightly anxious in the shelter environment, and very eager to bond with someone special. He can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but once he knows you? He’ll greet you like sunshine breaking through the clouds.Fog’s Favorite Things:- Zooming around the yard with a ball- Trail walks (with plenty of sniffing)- Training games and treat puzzles—he’s brilliant at them- Frozen Kongs, peanut butter, and pup cups with whipped cream- Building trust, slowly and surelyFog’s Ideal Match:- Children 12+ (case-by-case depending on comfort)- Possibly another dog, with careful introductions and a few meet-ups- A calm, consistent home where he can decompress and continue building confidence- A person who enjoys a mix of mental enrichment, gentle structure, and good cuddle energyFog has some leash manners to work on (he gets excited and zigzags a bit), but he responds well to redirection and already knows several basic cues: sit, come, wait, stay—and he’s happy to keep learning. He’s not a dog who comes in hot and wants instant hugs, but with a few minutes, a gentle voice, and maybe a peanut butter snack, you’ll quickly become his favorite person.Fog is one of those dogs who doesn’t just want a home—he wants to belong. To bond. To learn. To breathe deeper in a place where the days are quieter, the toys are plentiful, and the kindness is steady.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Fog is an energetic and playful dog who needs training in leash manners, as he tends to pull and zigzag. He accepts handling well and shows no resource guarding outside his kennel, though he does guard his food and space. F
