Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Angel Age: 4 years Breed: Pit/shepherd mix - 57 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies and dhpp, heartworm negative and UTD on prevention, spayed Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: Good with other dogs of all sizes and children. She isn’t a jumper which works very well for children. She seems to ignore my grown cats but tries to pick up small kittens and carry them around (doesn’t seem to be trying to hurt them) but I keep her separated just to be safe. Can get annoyed with the more energetic dogs. Aggression or medical issues?: flea allergy so have to keep her on prevention during warmer. Nub tail from previous life injuries that will flare up if flea allergies present and get raw again from her licking so again… flea prevention. months - Has been involved with a fight she didn’t want to be in and she tried to hold her own but gave up and simply laid down while I got the other off. She was raised with chiweenies and had 0 clue what to do in that situation. She thinks she is a small dog couch potato (other dog I learned is not good around any other female pit mixes and she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time). Reason for rehoming?: owner moved and left her behind in a crate House/crate trained?: yes but doesn’t have to be crated as she doesn’t mess with anything in the house. Additional info/story (personality): Very sweet and loves to cuddle and get pets. She is more in her “laid back” era and more focused on pets and attention than playing with the others. When I get home and let her out her crate she greets me and then goes outside to potty and maybe hangs out 5-10 min before she’s back inside ready to hang out on the couch and cuddle. She also is really not bright for lack of better words (training her commands is extremely difficult). Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.

Story
He’s a very sweet boy with no sense of personal space and loves giving kisses and cuddles. He cannot be trained like a regular dog because he does not understand positive or negative reinforcement, only consistency. He has good and bad days. Sometimes he can be walked on a leash; sometimes he can’t so he has to go to a home with a FENCED IN YARD. When he is very excited, he is a jumper. I have tried everything possible to get him to stop but he just does not understand (although he doesn’t do it as much as he used to so hopefully he will grow out of it). He also functions a billion times better when other dogs are in the home so he must go to a home with OTHER DOGS. His crate and the couch are his safe places. When he is stressed, he has to have access to his crate because that is his safe place (either enclosed or metal with a cover around it). I can’t shortly explain him in full, so if anyone is genuinely interested, please reach out and we can discuss more. When I say he is nonfunctional off medication I mean he refused to leave his crate, would use the bathroom on himself, and barely eat because he was so terrified of everything. His meds completely changed his life and they aren’t negotiable in any part of his future. Message/comment if interested.

Story
UTD on rabies & DHPP - heartworm negative and prevention started. Spayed. Has been good with everyone she met so far. I had her around a baby kitten and she was not bothered at all. She is very submissive at first. Only thing she can get iffy about is if you try to pick her up (I can’t tell if she is trying to jump in my arms or run honestly). She has LOVED the kids she met so far (none were extremely young). Has a couple wounds healing from her adventures wandering. Slightly underweight by a couple lbs. Hasn’t had potty issues since the first couple days in my house. Have been crating her and she is fine with it, just getting her in takes some assistance on certain days/times. Baby is very sweet and has not given me any issues since I got her. She is not high energy by any means. It took her a couple days to warm up to everything, but has settled in well and enjoys playing with the other dogs. I haven’t received kisses from her, but she has given the next door neighbor’s kids some kisses. She does well on a leash for walking, but has been difficult to get her to potty on a leash (but she does completely fine free roaming my back yard to potty) so that may take some more effort. Very easy to treat train.

Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Macey Age: 3 years Breed: Assumption is pit/husky or pit/cattle dog - 42 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies and DHPP, Heartworm negative and up to date on prevention, spayed. Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: very shy around new humans she meets. Can kid test her upon request but doubt it would be an issue. Have had her arounds other dogs and cats and she is fine but can be a bit too energetic for some. I monitor her closely around the cats but haven’t had any issues. Aggression or medical issues?: Broken teeth from previous life (doesn't need to be pulled). Was being territorial over food at first but has no issues now (understandable due to reason for rehoming) Reason for rehoming?: found wandering behind a high school with her pups extremely underweight - had to be trapped to be caught. House/crate trained?: yes Additional info/story (personality): SUPER sweet with people once she warms up and fine with leash walks. Loves pets and is super excited to meet new animals but can be a bit too much for some. Holds her own against some of the more alpha ones but there has yet to be any major concerns over it and is very human responsive. Can pull pretty hard on a leash and has a specific walking path outside she likes to follow. Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Story
She is a very sweet girl and loves to cuddle. She wears out fast since everything requires much more energy. She does really well with other dogs and enjoys having them around as long as they are not bullying her because she will hold her ground and a forever judge if they do (only had an issue with 4 dogs out of hundreds and she did not start any of the incidents, only defended herself as need be - all 4 of those were female pits but there have been other female pits she coexists peacefully with at all times). She absolutely loves puppies and is great with small dogs, but she is unfortunately too much for the cats because they won't accept her constant love. She loves sniffing and makes the cutest sounds when she is sniffing (she sounds like a pig honestly). She loves to sit with her left leg tucked underneath her as well. Is a snorer if she’s having a really good sleep. Does need heavy-duty dog toys as she will shred the softer ones in 30 seconds. She does not like to be left outside alone except for when she has to potty. If there are other dogs, she will sometimes stand to be out there and play with them for a while. If you are out there with her, she is fine staying out there for as long as you like. Does well on a leash but is very strong as a pre-warning (meaning a kid would not be able to walk her unless she has further leash training). Does need to be crated when left alone as she is very nosy and will get into something she shouldn't. EXTREMELY food motivated.

Story
Location: Lexington, SC Age: 7 months (DOB: ~9/24/23) Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies, dhpp, and heartworm prevention; is microchipped Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: have been good with all dogs and humans they have met so far; can cat test upon request. Come from very well-tempered parents. Aggression or medical issues?: none House/crate trained?: have not attempted crate training but doing well in kennel; working on potty training and doing well as long as I let them out often enough. Additional info/story (personality): All are extremely friendly and quite smart (listen well). Fiona is the “most shy” in the group, but she’s not really shy, just not as bold as her siblings and still gives tons of loving as well. She just doesn’t dart into every situation with 0 concerns like her siblings. Message/comment if interested. Story
Kenny loves when the peanut butter box is here!  He was born around 2/7/21 and had the bad luck of being owned by someone who tied him up and let his collar grown into his neck.  They then tied him to a goal post because they did not have the nerve to surrender him to be safe,  Gotta love people!  He is an affectionate boy who walks well on the leash and is desperate for attention, once he is comfortable.  He does start off shy. He is crate trained, knows basic commands and is undergoing training and he LOVES to please his people. Now he is with a cat rescue HaHa!! We just know there is a home out there for this wonderful dog. Black cats! Black dogs! what ya gonna do?Adopt One, that's what!!He has not been exposed to cats but he ignores dogs on his walks and has only shown a tail wag and happy to meet ya! when in closer contact. email us at animalrescuecarolina@yahoo.com for an application or to meet Kenny.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 22, 2024, 7:27 pm

Story
Django is a playful and energetic Staffordshire terrier. He plays well with other dogs of similar temperaments and loves to chase tennis balls, although he hasn't gotten the hang of "fetch" just yet. His favorite treats are chewables like bones or rawhide-like products, but oddly enough isn't a fan of peanut butter. As a previous stray, Django loves his food; however, he can be protective. Although a rowdy youngster, Django will surely mature into a loyal companion under the care of a patient and benevolent owner.Django is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the $50 adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. Please fill out an adoption application at https://pawmettolifeline.org/adoption/adoptionapplication/ or contact adoption@pawmettolifeline.org if you would like to meet this animal.

Story
Theo is a very loving energetic puppy. He loves to play outside, roll around in the grass and go on walks. Theo can be a very calm dog whenever he is sleepy. He loves to cuddle in the bed at night or any time. His favorite toys are plushy toys, however he can often destroy them. Theo isn't an aggressive dog at all, despite his breed. Many people are often scared and intimidated due to his large size and aggressive appearance, but when he approaches strangers he is very loving. He often lets everyone pet him & will lay down for anyone to rub his tummy. He has also played with other dogs, he loves interacting with other animals and people. Theo is great with children, in fact he loves children. Theo has been around cats, however my cats aren't very loving so I don't believe it is a Theo thing more so my cats just not liking him. Overall Theo is a very loving cuddly dog who loves everyone. I'd love for him to go to a very loving home to match his loving personality.

She was found abandoned roaming a neighborhood and found her way to a safe space on patio. After speaking with apartment manager Someone was evicted recently for breeding dogs and apparently took the puppies and left behind the mom. She has been outside about a week she’s good with dogs and small kids she’s very loving and just looking for a good home. You can tell she an inside dog and was trained very well. She’s smart and playful once warmed up to you or another dog. Please give her a home. I wish I could I just can’t afford another dog. The neighbors and I named her Lola cause she a sweet southern bell. She is a protector for sure and just need a new lil family

Story
Royal is 5 years old and I have had Royal since she was a puppy and am absolutely heartbroken to have to give her away but due to a mandatory move into a new apartment, I cannot take her and unfortunately have no family or friends who can either. I have tried everything. Royal will make someone very happy if adopted. She would be an amazing emotional support dog. She’s loyal, trained and housebroken and absolutely loves cuddles. When you come home she is so happy and loves to talk when greeting you. She does get allergy’s during this time of year which she is on medication for. This is my last hope and I’m hoping someone special can come along and save her!!! Thank you!
