Story
This beautiful pit mix is Rebecca! She came to us from a local shelter and is estimated to be around 2 years old. She is absolutely gorgeous, with a stunning black coat and a beautiful brindle pattern along her back. Rebecca is a sweet girl who simply just loves being around people. If you are hanging out on the couch, Rebecca promises to be right there with you! She is a girl that absolutely loves playing with toys, especially squeaky toys. She is a medium energy pup, so she loves to play and be active, but after a nice long walk, she is happy to settle into the comfiest bed you can find! Rebecca walks great on a leash, and is mastering her household manners. She is working on mastering her basic commands. She is very food motivated, and she loves all treats! Rebecca loves to play with other dogs! She gets very excited to play and can sometimes play with a little too much energy. She would do best in a home with other dogs of similar size to her who would welcome her excited playing style! If you are looking for a loyal and happy pup, Rebecca is the girl for you!   We promised Rebecca that the rest of her life, would be the best of her life. Story
This sweet squish is Ellie, an 11 month old pittie mix girl who came to us from a local shelter. Ellie is fully house trained, crate trained, and knows some basic commands. She has spent lots of time in a foster home learning what it means to be a good girl! She LOVES children and is a bit scared of cats but with time and training she would be fantastic with them as well! Ellie gets nervous around other dogs at first, but a proper introduction will allow for Ellie to gain confidence and be friendly with other dogs. Ellie is playful, affectionate, puppy-like, and a total lap dog, and she LOVES balls! She could play fetch all day. Ellie absolutely loves to be outside and she always needs something in her mouth whether it be a ball or toy. She has super fun and playful energy, but after she runs for a little while she is a cuddle bug and puts herself in bed at night. Ellie is an all around great pup who is ready to find her perfect home! We promised Ellie that the rest of her life, would be the best of her life. Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Angel Age: 4 years Breed: Pit/shepherd mix - 57 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies and dhpp, heartworm negative and UTD on prevention, spayed Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: Good with other dogs of all sizes and children. She isn’t a jumper which works very well for children. She seems to ignore my grown cats but tries to pick up small kittens and carry them around (doesn’t seem to be trying to hurt them) but I keep her separated just to be safe. Can get annoyed with the more energetic dogs. Aggression or medical issues?: flea allergy so have to keep her on prevention during warmer. Nub tail from previous life injuries that will flare up if flea allergies present and get raw again from her licking so again… flea prevention. months - Has been involved with a fight she didn’t want to be in and she tried to hold her own but gave up and simply laid down while I got the other off. She was raised with chiweenies and had 0 clue what to do in that situation. She thinks she is a small dog couch potato (other dog I learned is not good around any other female pit mixes and she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time). Reason for rehoming?: owner moved and left her behind in a crate House/crate trained?: yes but doesn’t have to be crated as she doesn’t mess with anything in the house. Additional info/story (personality): Very sweet and loves to cuddle and get pets. She is more in her “laid back” era and more focused on pets and attention than playing with the others. When I get home and let her out her crate she greets me and then goes outside to potty and maybe hangs out 5-10 min before she’s back inside ready to hang out on the couch and cuddle. She also is really not bright for lack of better words (training her commands is extremely difficult). Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.

Story
He’s a very sweet boy with no sense of personal space and loves giving kisses and cuddles. He cannot be trained like a regular dog because he does not understand positive or negative reinforcement, only consistency. He has good and bad days. Sometimes he can be walked on a leash; sometimes he can’t so he has to go to a home with a FENCED IN YARD. When he is very excited, he is a jumper. I have tried everything possible to get him to stop but he just does not understand (although he doesn’t do it as much as he used to so hopefully he will grow out of it). He also functions a billion times better when other dogs are in the home so he must go to a home with OTHER DOGS. His crate and the couch are his safe places. When he is stressed, he has to have access to his crate because that is his safe place (either enclosed or metal with a cover around it). I can’t shortly explain him in full, so if anyone is genuinely interested, please reach out and we can discuss more. When I say he is nonfunctional off medication I mean he refused to leave his crate, would use the bathroom on himself, and barely eat because he was so terrified of everything. His meds completely changed his life and they aren’t negotiable in any part of his future. Message/comment if interested.

Story
UTD on rabies & DHPP - heartworm negative and prevention started. Spayed. Has been good with everyone she met so far. I had her around a baby kitten and she was not bothered at all. She is very submissive at first. Only thing she can get iffy about is if you try to pick her up (I can’t tell if she is trying to jump in my arms or run honestly). She has LOVED the kids she met so far (none were extremely young). Has a couple wounds healing from her adventures wandering. Slightly underweight by a couple lbs. Hasn’t had potty issues since the first couple days in my house. Have been crating her and she is fine with it, just getting her in takes some assistance on certain days/times. Baby is very sweet and has not given me any issues since I got her. She is not high energy by any means. It took her a couple days to warm up to everything, but has settled in well and enjoys playing with the other dogs. I haven’t received kisses from her, but she has given the next door neighbor’s kids some kisses. She does well on a leash for walking, but has been difficult to get her to potty on a leash (but she does completely fine free roaming my back yard to potty) so that may take some more effort. Very easy to treat train.

Story
STILL OVER CAPACITY and Esme is officially the main long-timer here. She was here before we were 501c3 official, and our 2nd dog intake ever back in 2021. She was adopted for ~6 months and returned back in March due to what I would say was no fault of her own as it was a very clearly stated potential issue that was warned about before adoption and reiterated after adoption when the situation in the home changed. The adoptees were still extremely upset about returning her, but decided they had to.... I can give more context but not going to type a book on her post. Long story short, it's been almost 3 years now, and she is still looking for her permanent furever home! *special needs - tripaw* Location: Lexington, SC Name: Esme Age: 3.5 years Breed: Lab/pit/mix (DNA Tested) - 60 lbs but overweight and should only be around 50 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: spayed; UTD on rabies, dhlpp, & bordetella; heartworm negative and UTD on prevetion Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: good with all humans and has been around toddlers as well, good with dogs except severely alpha dogs (every incident so far has been with a female pit that came onto her - she defended herself and does it very well). Has been around 100’s of other dogs with no issues including dog parks and doggy daycares, she simply won’t tolerate being bullied or messed with. NOT good with cats (even my most dog friendly cats, she doesn’t try to hurt them, but she doesn’t understand her size and wants to play and is simply too much for them) Aggression or medical issues?: TRIPAW (3 legs - missing rear right leg) and gets daily joint supplements to prevent arthrtitis. Does not affect daily life and most don’t notice she is missing a leg because she acts so “normal”. Only further assistance she needs is getting in/out high vehicles. Also can only swim in circles but does like water. For aggression, she will never start anything, but she will finish it so you must make sure the dogs she are with will not push buttons. House/crate trained?: yes - needs to be crated when left alone Additional info/story (personality): VERY cuddly. Will stay close by without a leash once she learns area and homeowner when you take her outside. Will demand to be let back inside if you leave her out there too long cause she likes to be a lazy couch potato a good chunk of the time. Does snore. Does have a big and funny attitude and is very talkative. Super chewer and will need heavy duty toys. She will not chew on stuff she shouldn’t chew on unless she doesn’t have anything appropriate to chew on. She just loves chewing. Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.

Story
This handsome pup is Sumo. We saw a Facebook post asking for help for this sweet stray, and we sprung into action! He came to us filthy, covered in sores, and barely able to walk. We estimate that Sumo is around 3 years old, and he is just a big lovebug. He enjoys his comfy beds, getting lots of scratches, and tasty treats. He walks great on a leash, and he seems to enjoy short outings. Sumo has begun his path to recovery, and now he is looking for the path to his forever home. He is currently thriving in a foster home, here is what his foster has to say about him: "Sumo has an old man personality, he will take 5 hour naps on the bed and loves a good tv show while napping and has to have you with him while he does it all. He is a foodie and a gentle giant. He has neurological damage in his back legs so he needs the extra assistance. No stairs and super short walks only. Doesnt like to be outside for long he is a big guy and gets hot fast. He loves a fan and a cool mist air humidifier he has more gums than teeth so it helps him breathe better. He is on thyroid medicine and eye drops for his eyes they get funky at night so his eyes get cleaned every morning and before bed. He does not like to share any of his bones. But he is the best boy ever!" We promised Sumo that the rest of his life, would be the best of his life.
